Run! $9,000 order of trex delivered. Looking at first 33 boards only 3 usable. They were muddy, gouged, scratched. They delivered their rejects in yard I guess. Gave them a chance to fix but they didn't have enough boards at Canton store to send! Oh, and they forgot on 20' boards and ask us to come and get it. We paid for delivery! Finally they actually told us to go to Northville lumber cause they couldn't help us. So we did and same order was $500 less there. Boards delivered next day and are great. Again run from Man's if doing Trex!!! read more

Every time I need to go there they are not open. Not customer centric at all. I needed help with deck repair on a product they carry and they didn't know anyone to help me n I am not sure why I even bother considering them other than I like to help local businesses. read more

I'm not one to do business with a place I receive bad service from, but this place was almost forced on us by our builder so we had no choice. Needless to say everything they provided or installed we ended up having issues with for months after moving in. All I can say is, think about how much time you have in the day to actually track them and their quality before you hire because they do require massive handholding and will still provide you a very poor results. Disappointed. We had an amazing builder so he took a ton of this back and forth upon himself on our behalf and we appreciate it, but at some point they need to lose business to change their culture. read more

I needed casings for a couple of doors for my and decide to try the Mans store on Stadium. When I arrived I was addressed by a lady who would not even greet me. I explained what I needed and gave her a sample, she would not answer any of my questions and told me she would give a quote by Friday. She called me back and gave me the quote, I tried to ask her questions and she just hung up on me. I have lived in Ann Arbor, for over decades and dealt with Fingerle in the past and never missed as much as now. read more

Mans' supplied the lumber when we built our house 7 years ago. We recently decided to have a storage cabinet/bench built for the kitchen. Since the new cabinet will butt up against an existing cabinet, we want the crown molding to match. I was directed to Brian's voice mail and left the details noted above. Since any order I would place would be for a very small amount of molding, I figured I would probably not be getting a return call. Not only did Brian call me back within an hour, he sent a PDF file 20 minutes later showing all of my options. If this is the type of customer service offered on such a small order, I can't imagine how good they are with "real" customers. Kudos to Brian. read more

Put in a new entrance, kitchen & 1/2 bath floor, vanity and front doors. In a manner of speaking we had issues with all three, but Man's stood behind everything and made everything right. Part of the problem was Covid, so any inconvenience connected with that has no reflection on Man's. read more

The customer service here is terrible. I expected more from a small family owned business. A few months ago, we were talking about remodeling our kitchen and wanted to see what options were available. I went into the store and walked thru the kitchen displays and, although I saw employees at desks, no one approached me to ask if I needed help. A very pleasant gentleman from the flooring department came over to help and eventually found someone to wait on me. We decided to go with another company for cabinets and counters, but I went back to Mans for flooring because I had a pleasant experience with the flooring employee the first time. When I returned, that employee from flooring was no longer available. The staff that was there were willing to wait on me (unlike the first time) but couldn't answer any questions about price or product. They wanted to help me match color, which I already know how to do???? I would steer clear. I wouldn't want any of the people who waited on me to be in charge of a remodeling project in my house. I noticed after I posted this that the positive review are all several years old. Looks like things have gone downhill recently. read more

Horrific customer service from start to finish, especially when your project is considered small and non-important to them.

I went to Manns to purchase supplies for a Deck railing replacement. I found a very high quality of wood and found the exact wire and hardware for the deck rail I was looking for. They set down with me, discussed the project, help figure out exactly how much I needed and we ordered the supplies. Later, the Supplier call me to discuss the project. We found a fatal error that prevents me from using the wire rail system. They saved me hundreds of dollars. I'm now a customer for life. read more

My contractor sent me in to pay for materials on a job I hired him for. He went in and told them what I needed and just sent me to pay. They charged me retail price Rather then giving me the contractors pricing who sent me into pay. I even told the lady this is much more expensive then I discussed with the contractor. ($1500-2000) When the contractor went back and complained to them and said he should be able to send his clients into pay for materials they argued and wouldn't not adjust the pricing. I don't recommend this company as that's totally uncalled for and that's the last time I use them. You would think they would want to make it right. read more

Skip Home Depot and Lowes and head here if you need any type of wood. The selection is of course far greater and the cost is great. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Contacted this place twice in the last year (both Canton and Trenton Locations). Once to get a quote on re-doing my staircase and another to get an estimate on some custom millwork I wanted completed. In both cases, I got zero response from them. In the case of the Millwork, I actually went in and spoke with someone at the Canton location and they took my information but never got back to me. Apparently my small jobs were not worth their while. Poor customer service. I have given them two shots at earning my business and I am done with them. read more

Disappointed. OSB boards so thin it was scary. Every single 10', 2x4 had to be cut. Not one was 10' so what's the point of ordering a garage package? Ended up being one OSB board short (my fault), picked one up from Home Depot, what a difference!! Won't be back. read more

At first I thought I found a better place than Home Depot or Menards but now I know it is just as bad or worse. They seemed very friendly and said they would be helpful but they are the slowest and worse to get anything done than anywhere. I was given a card to call whenever I needed help. I do not like calling someone when he is off the clock but was told that was part of his job. Well, that was another joke on me. One time after not getting a return call in a couple days I did try the number on the card but that was a few days ago and still no reply. They said they would get me all the samples I needed to get my jobs done. They never said it was going to be months to get them. They said to call whenever I needed anything...another LIE. How they sleep at night is beyond me. Sales people seem just too suck.... I have now found another place who has directed me to people I need to speak to and he also had the samples I have been waiting for a long time. Within the week or so I plan on hiring him. Nice guy and he had customer coming in who were happy with him and getting work done and this place even has his own installer where the jerks have sub contractors. read more

Had Mans install our flooring recently. The sales consultant, Gary, was great to work with. He answered all of our questions, got back to us very quickly when we called, and also went out of his way to help us with samples. Even though we took quite a long (it was) time to finally decide on the type of flooring, Gary was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. On top of that, he actually stopped over our house the day when the flooring was being installed! Our entire Man's experience was excellent. read more

I had such a bad experience with one of their kitchen designers I vowed to never spend a dime there. After telling a few people how poorly I was treated, two who were also in the market for kitchen updates proceeded to describe the same salesperson who treated me so poorly. I asked a neighbor who is a contractor about her. He laughed and said she is a downriver legend with how poorly she treated people, but must be connected to the owner. Just spend your money somewhere else and don't get your blood pressure up. read more
