The lady named Kitty is rude, insulted her new customers, made you pull your skin so hard and if it wasn't hard enough threatened your eyebrows won't look good because of you and no accountability from her, claimed she's the best in town and nobody knows how to do brows better than her, claimed anyone who does eyebrows doesn't know what they're doing and she's the only one who is magnificent in the world. The next day, I had a swollen eye and infection, meanwhile the eyebrows were uneven. If I could give this rating a zero I would! Overall: do not come here, no customer service skills, no manners, not a clean place, hands weren't washed between patients, towels were not clean, the worst place for eyebrow threading I've ever seen. Kitty sold me on a facial when I came in and I left with burning irritated skin, completely damaged my skin barrier!! She claims her products are "all natural" when I explained to her I have sensitive skin and she insisted that we won't have a problem. Now I am left with rough, burning, enflamed, and red skin and not to mention marks where she threaded my upper lip (3 days later). Also rants about the importance of booking an appointment but insists that you will wait no matter what. Like what's the point of booking an appointment if you're going to make me wait 20+ minutes. Tried to give her the benefit of the doubt these last few months because she is good at eyebrows but I would much rather pluck them on my own, then come here again!!!! Overall I have never had dry, flaky skin like this and I asked for my money back but was told I would only get 50% and that my next eyebrows would be free?? This salon is run by the nicest mother-daughter pair. I just moved to the area and came in for a haircut and eyebrow/upper lip threading, and I loved the results! They are efficient but don't make you feel rushed, reasonably priced, and conveniently located just off Packard. I will definitely be back! I always go here for my eyebrows but have never been for any other services. I always call the day of and she's good about taking me within a few hours. I appreciate the flexibility given how insane my schedule normally is. I go once a month (my eyebrows don't grow that fast) and I only pay $10 a time; it's $15 for the first shaping or if you haven't been in awhile and they've grown out. I have come here for eyebrow threading for about a year but at this point I'm fed up with the poor customer service. The actual eyebrow threading is good - it always looks pretty nice and it's not expensive. But the last two times I called to make an appointment they lied about the wait time. The first time was in August. I was told it would be a 10 minute wait but I ended up sitting there for 45 minutes. The most recent time was in September. I was told the wait time was "5-7 minutes" and sat there for 30 minutes. Beyond the long wait times (that they won't tell you about when you call ahead) I just find the woman who threads your eyebrows so rude. It's a very unpleasant and uncomfortable experience. Staff fully vaccinated, great haircuts, and masks required! I went to Mansha for haircuts every month before the shutdown. Since then, I'd been cutting my hair on my own -- to my wife's chagrin. SAFETY FIRST: A few weeks ago, I called Mansha's to see what their safety protocols are... and they're extensive. Most importantly, they're fully vaccinated. They wear masks, and they require all patrons wear masks at all times. In addition, they require temperature checks, sanitize everything, operate at limited capacity -- and appointments are mandatory. (You call when you arrive, and they're screen you and let you in.) THE HAIRCUTS: My haircut is difficult because I'm balding. Mansha does a great job of making me feel confident and look my best. Because I feel really safe there, I can finally stop giving myself DIY haircuts -- and get a professional haircut... while staying safe. That's huge. read more

Kitty is AMAZING. She is so meticulous with eyebrow threading (and that seems like it's rare in this town) - the way she shaped my eyebrows made my whole face look more lifted! Been there a total of 5-6 times. They always ask you to pay by "cash". If you don't have cash, the aunty's gonna be upset. If you haven't been there in a few weeks, she asks you where you have been going for eyebrows and then about how ill-shaped your eyebrows have become after not going to her. Got a haircut over five times from here and not a single time paid the same price. They increase and decrease rates as they want and as the demand is. Still have a few extras left near brows. Mansha is friendly and I have had my hair trimmed before and they were pretty good . This time even the haircut was okay. Showed that it'll be shortened by an inch but it's at least 4 inches shorter. I was hoping that I would be lucky to find a great threading salon on my first try in AA. But alas, that didn't happen. I have many issues with this place. When I arrived at this place, a girl who was doing her nails told me that I would be helped shortly. So I took a seat. About 5 minutes later, when she was done, it turns out that she would be helping me for some of the my threading needs. Throughout the experience with girl #1, the strong smell of nail polish made me almost want to puke since it was literally right in my face. Additionally, she kept checking if she had nicked her polish. If she wasn't checking her nail polish, she was answering her cell phone. This happened at least 5 times. Ridiculously unprofessional. Moving onto to lady number #2, who I believe is the main eyebrow threader, may be a seasoned professional lacking an understanding of basic tools. She combed my eyebrows with a haircutter's comb, not an eyebrow brush or a mascara-like brush and proceeded to trim. She did a poor trim job. Additionally, she over plucked in the wrong areas. I noted that my eyebrows were uneven. In turn, she told me that she wanted to leave more to fix in the future. That's fair, but my eyebrows shouldn't have looked grossly unsymmetrical as they did. Furthermore, she didn't ask me what kind of eyebrows I preferred. To make matter worse, they pulled on my forehead in ways that promoted odd shapes. I've been threading for over 10 years in multiple cities. I've had some hits and misses. And this is definitely a miss. Lastly, hygiene is a problem. Never once did these ladies wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before working on my face. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. The search continues. read more

I LOVE Mansha and Kitty! Such a lovely mother daughter run store. I've been getting my brows threaded for years in various area codes and Kitty (mother/owner) is the only person who's been able to turn my brows into "identical twins" rather than "similar looking cousins" if that makes sense. Mansha (the daughter) similarly is the only one who's ever ACTUALLY listened to me when I said "I'm trying to grow my hair out, please don't take much off". My hair was full of dry/split ends from not cutting from April 2020 til early this month (February 2021) and she really did just remove the dead gross parts of my hair without sacrificing any length. The layers and face frame she added were very subtle like I prefer too and they demonstrated they are very skilled at dealing with very delicate, curly hair like mine. I'm so relieved they exist and that they're so darn good at their job, my tresses and brows are so pleased! read more

I've been going to Mansha's for four years while I was in college. Kitty is a very experienced and knowledgeable threader. Mansha is pretty great too. They both definitely know what they're doing. The customer service could use some work. Kitty doesn't take feedback well. She thinks she know what's best for your eyebrows but honestly she's right most of the time. My eyebrows always looked great! I was often asked to let other customers go ahead of me even though I was on time for my appointment because apparently college kids don't have other obligations like mothers and people with jobs...this was not good business practice at all. They'll oftentimes gossip in Punjabi/Hindi in front of customers which I think is kind of rude and uncomfortable. They rarely talked badly about customers. It was usually family gossip but still, people who don't understand the language wouldn't know that. If you come here, be prepared to leave with great looking eyebrows but you may have to deal with customer service that's not up to par. read more

Other places I've gone to have tried to really thin them down (I'm Indian so I have pretty full hair) but Mansha kept them thick and I love them! I have been visiting Kitty at this spa for about 3 years. While I do like the way she shapes my eyebrows, I always have to put up with her trying to upsell me on a facial. Every single time! My last visit was on 10/9/2018. I was going to be late for an eyebrow appt I had at my own spa, & Mansha's was on the way so it was just convenient. Low and behold Kitty tries to sell me on a facial. I explained to her that I worked at very prestigious spa downtown Ann Arbor and if I needed a facial, I would get it done there at a huge discount. She still tried to sell me on her faical stating that it was normally over $100, but now on special for $65. I again, explained to her that I could get a better deal at my spa I was employed at. When she realized that she was not going to sell me on a facial, she started in on my eyebrows. She stated that I wait too long to come in to get my eyebrows done. I explained to her that I come in as I can afford to get my eyebrows done. I also explained to her that I have been experiencing a some finacial hardships and need to prioritize, and started to list all my bills that were more important than getting my eyebrows done or getting a facial. She started complaining that my daughter does not come in often enough either! I told her I had nothing to do with that. She told me that everyone has those bills that I mentioned, and her and her daughter don't go out partying and spending money frivilously, in order to make thier bills. Well my daughter and I don't go out partying either. How dare her make that assumption. Are you SERIOUS? Now I am recieving "budgeting 101" from the lady that does my eyebrows? I told her I do not want to be told everytime I come here that I need a facial that I cannot afford. I simply want to get in and get out, nothing more. She then stated that she doesn't mind doing my eyebrows I just need to come in more often. Well NO THANKS KITTY! I won't be back. I'll grow a unibrow before I sit in her chair again. While she does a great job with eyebrows, she needs to stay in her place, and stop badgering people to put money in her pocket, money they do not have. I go here because there is essentially no other place in Ann Arbor to get eyebrows threaded. Kitty does a decent job but she and her staff are so rude and unpleasant to be around. Every time I go Kitty literally yells at me that I need to stretch the skin below my eyebrows more and if I don't she makes rude comments about how it's "my loss if I don't cooperate." I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for years and I have never been yelled at and attacked by the threader until I went to this place. She also seems to have a huge ego because she knows she's the only semi decent threader in Ann Arbor but she's really not that amazing, she's just the only option in a small town like Ann Arbor. When I call to make appointments SHE herself answers the phone and then proceeds to talk in third person about herself saying things like "kitty is very busy she has a lot of customers" thinking that I don't know it is her on the other end. And then every time she finishes threading my eyebrows she praises herself on how spectacular of a job she did. If you ask for something to be fixed she'll tell you you're wrong and she's right. Basically I go because I have no choice and I can't stand to go more than three weeks without getting my eyebrows done but if I had the option of going to someone else I absolutely would in a heartbeat. read more

Today was my second time going to Kitty for eyebrow threading. I am very happy with the results and how my eyebrows have grown since going to her and by following the tips she gave me. I will definitely continue to visit her. Today I also had an amazing facial by Mansha. I loved the massage and the products she used. I would come here occasionally to get my eyebrows done by the owner, over a span of 5 years. My last visit was a few weeks ago and the owner was available to do brows but she had a new person who she was clearly training do mine. I saw her coaching the new lady while she was threading the girl before me. The girls eyebrows before mine ended up looking good, so I thought it would be ok. She completely botched my eyebrows and I was getting them done for a wedding I was a bridesmaid in 3 days later. There was a chunk missing above my eyebrow that had to be filled in with makeup and she made them extremely thin. I had purposefully grew them out before the wedding so that they were nice and thick. I am writing this review because even three weeks later my eyebrow is still missing a chunk and I'm so mad about it! The only reason I have given 2 stars is because the owner is good at brows, but the fact that she made her clients the Guinea pigs and didn't even ask if it was ok to have a new person do my brows, is not ok. She was available to do my brows and just sat there and watched. I will NEVER be back. read more

This place is very poor. The staff are very rude. I tried to schedule an appointment multiple times and they gave me a very rude answer. They are not very inviting and you never feel welcome. The wait time is too long because they are poorly staffed. It is run by mom and daughter and they do all the services without appointing anybody else. I went to this place only because there is no other threading place close to me. The place is also not clean. The staff don't even clean their hands when they finish one customer. The first time I went there I got a beautiful ombre I loved, but after the second visit I was more than disappointed. I paid 180$ to have my hair colored a certain way and it looks JUST like my original dark blonde hair, I can't even see a difference. Not to mention she cut all my hair off when I asked for a trim. I absolutely LOVE Mansha's! Before going there, I had gone to multiple salons around Ann Arbor and, out of all of my experiences, not a single one of them compares to Mansha's. The top quality of service and the professional yet homelike ambiance of of the salon are unmatched. I often go there to get my eyebrows threaded by Kitty, the co-owner of the salon. I have never met anyone who can do my eyebrows better than her! Kitty knows how to perfectly shape my eyebrows without making them too thin or too thick. I have never left the salon feeling unsatisfied with her work. To say she does a wonderful job is an understatement and does not adequately describe her at all. I have also gotten my hair cut there, too, by Mansha, the other co-owner. Mansha knew exactly what I wanted and cut my hair without making it too short and added just the right amount of layers. She also gave me helpful suggestions on how to style my hair on a day-to-day basis. Both Kitty and Mansha know how to maintain a personal yet professional relationship with all of their new and regular customers, which in itself is a great quality to have.
