What started as a great night ended up one of my worst nights here in Texas. We had great drinks…read moreand bartenders were great but towards the end of the night it went downhill very fast. I had bought a drink after 2 am as it was the last call for alcohol and bartender sold it to me. I walked with my drink in my hand towards the club inside called Avalon and stood outside of it by the dance floor. Then an older man (busboy) came up to my friends and I and ordered us to finish our drinks right then and there because he was picking up the glasses. Mind you he still had plenty of other glasses he still had to pick up. Most of my friends did finish their drinks right then and there but I couldn't finish it fast enough as it was cold and it was giving me brain freeze. He kept rushing me and I told him once I was done I would take it up to the nearest bar. He became super snarky and said I couldn't do that. I kept trying to drink my drink as fast as I could and he decided to snatch my drink (that I had bought) out of my hand. I have never in my life been so humiliated and upset in my life. I bet he wouldn't have done that to a make counterpart. I was so upset I began to cry because I've never been put in a situation like that especially since it was a male and he was so aggressive. I went up to the head bouncer and my friend explained the situation, all that was said was that he would be spoken to. Honestly I don't plan to step foot in a place like that where there is aggressive males especially workers. Deeply disappointed especially since I'm visiting from California and it was my first time ever stepping foot in this establishment.

Like someone forgot to turn off the smoke machine when that trend ended 15 years ago. Even though my friend and I had the most clothes on of all the women in the whole place, we still got plenty of attention. We went on Valentine's weekend though, so pretty much everyone was already coupled. We only paid for our first round of drinks, and it was about $10 for two mixed drinks. The night turned out ok because we got to chill in the DJ booth, and he played reggaeton at my request and I got to dance and flirt with the one hot guy in the whole place. Overall, the people and staff were generous and accommodating. I won't be making this a regular spot, but If you're just looking for something different and are open and adventurous, pop in to check it out. So I went with a girlfriend and we could not believe how many ass cheeks we saw. We even saw a girl on girl fight! They have an area where a profess. photographer can take your picture. The men I saw at club Flow actually love to dance which is a rare quality to find these days. Although, club Flow isn't in the nicest neighborhood and doesn't have the nicest decor, it is an A-OK place :)

My experience at Red River tonight was unacceptable…read more I've been to Red River before wearing the same type of outfit and having the same neck tattoos. Tonight, I was stopped at the door, told there was an issue with the dress code and my tattoos, and made to stand to the side while white customers were allowed in ahead of me. The staff was rude about it, and I was left wondering why I was being treated differently. Eventually, a Black manager came over and gave me the OK to enter. I'm glad I was eventually allowed in, but that doesn't erase how I was treated at the door. If Red River has a dress code or tattoo policy, it should be clearly explained and applied consistently to everybody. I'm sharing my experience because customers deserve to be treated with respect, regardless of race.
