From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the front desk team and invited to relax in a cozy waiting area complete with comfortable seating, a TV, and complimentary coffee. It was clear right away that every detail of the experience is intentional. During my first visit, Dr. Hemann took the time to really listen, ask questions, and clearly explain my diagnosis and treatment plan. Her calm and caring approach immediately put me at ease. Kirby Smiles clearly understands the common fears and pain points associated with dental visits, and they go above and beyond to make the experience as comfortable and painless as possible. My hygienist, Stacey, was amazing! She made sure I was comfortable with a blanket, a pillow, and even a selection of movies to watch during my treatment. She walked me through every step of the process and even followed up with a call the next day to check on me--something I've never experienced before. I witnessed a very disturbing interaction at this dentist office in Pearland, Texas. The front desk…read morestaff were extremely rude, passive aggressive, and unprofessional toward a mother who simply came in for her child's appointment. She was not greeted when she walked in, repeatedly asked for her phone number as if they couldn't understand her, and was never even properly checked in before they immediately started asking for $75 upfront. One of the women also kept telling her to move over while assisting another patient even though she was not in anyone's way. The entire interaction felt disrespectful, dismissive, and targeted. Instead of making parents and children feel welcomed, the atmosphere was uncomfortable and hostile. She even spoke with the owner afterward because the treatment was so unacceptable. No parent should be treated that way while trying to get care for their child. Based on what I witnessed, the front desk staff seriously need customer service training or to be replaced altogether.

She did not want to sit in the dental chair but that was not an issue because they have this rubber mat that lays in the parents lap to lay them back on and Dr. Jack sits in front to examine and clean their teeth. He sang twinkle twinkle little star to her and she did amazing letting him brush her teeth and look around inside her mouth. I could not have asked for a better experience! They struggled with the Hygienists and didn't really warm right away. The hygienists still remained professional and friendly the entire time. They talked me through everything they were doing and tried to make the kids as comfortable as possible. When Dr. Jack came in, it's like some sort of calming aura came in with him. My youngest who is very stubborn still pitched a fit but did much better. My oldest let Dr. Jack fully examine, clean, and FLOSS his teeth and he didn't pitch a fit at all! The wait was about 10 minutes to get my xrays done then I was taken to room for gum exam, then a 5 min wait to see Dr Patel (who was super friendly and helpful) then the benefits coordinator came in and allowed me to pay and schedule my next appointment in the room. Finally a short wait to see the hygienist (thorough, quick, friendly) who performed my cleaning and fluoride treatment. Overall I felt great about the experience. The proximity to my house and the overall organization and professionalism will bring me back here in six months for my next checkup.

On 12/16/24, I had teeth whitening done on the upper & lower arch. Even though I told them that my insurance pays for 50% of each arch, the lazy office staff did not verify my coverage, but instead has me pay in full and said they would issue a credit when the insurance paid their portion. Fast forward to March 2025, I go in for an appointment and bring them 2 letters that my insurance company has sent them asking for additional information on the whitening service that I had. PMD had never responded to the request for information!!! Now I am asked to pay for that days appointment when i should have had a credit on my account! Fast forward again to July 2025, I am scheduled for an appt on the 21st. This time I call the office prior to my appt and STILL no credit. My insurance paid them $227 which should now be a credit on my account. I am furious. I cancelled my appt and I will no longer do business with these people. I have also filed a complaint with the BBB and TSBDE! Next, it will be small claims court. It is really stupid that I have to waste time on this! BEWARE! Make them verify services with the insurance. Do not pay in full waiting for them to give you a refund!!
