I came to give Manyo a review since I have been using this shop for years and they recently moved into a new space and expanded. I first read the other reviews which almost all say the same great things about the shop and Dave the owner. However, I saw a recent one star review by Gabrielle W. in Plymouth, WI. Funny thing is, I happen to be in the day she came in and I know first hand that she wasn't actually getting repairs done to her car. She showed up unannounced to have a court-ordered interlock device installed for her OWI violation. She also called Dave "grumpy" and after years of going to Manyo I know Dave is only going to show you grump if you come in with unreasonable demands and expectations. He runs a busy shop, always has a sense of humor and will treat ANYONE fairly. He stopped installing interlock devices for INTOXALOCK because the company was difficult to work with and obviously didn't inform their customer that she needed to communicate what she was dropping her car off for. INTOXALOCK should get the bad review here - not Manyo Motors. read more

I stopped in for an emissions test (they are partnered with the DMV) and were one of the few places that were available on Saturday and without an appointment! The owner Dave was able to get me in around 10:30 (they stop testing at 11) and it was completely hassle free. You can tell everyone that works there works hard and is a decent and wants to take care of your needs. They even took a look at my headlight that fell out of place on the spot and made it right. Dropped a car off for this morning and not a single person was wearing a mask. This included 4 employees and 2 customers. Decided we could not support this business and went back and picked up our car before they began working on it. It was our desire to support a local business during this time of COVID so it was very disappointing. They may be great auto mechanics, but apparently do not have regard for the health of customers. read more

My partner's car was at 3 different places before here, it's finally fixed right, Dave saved her lots of money by telling her there must be a warranty on the part in her car- found the receipt and saved almost $500. In addition, I had my car info fleet farm a few months ago, new tires, asked them to check brakes as they felt off- said pads were at 60-70%.... brakes continued to feel off- had them checked here- definitely needed brakes- thank you for helping us keep our family safe! I bought a car from their Auto Sales department on the other side of the gas station, since they don't have a sales yelp that I can find and I worked with Dave as well I will just post it here as well. Tim and Dave go above and beyond and take great pride in their work. They worked with me through all my nitpicking no problem and I got a car I really enjoy. The lengths they go through to ensure that things are dealt with as painlessly as possible are astounding, such as picking up the car from my work and bringing it back before my shift ended to fix a part that was defective. They've always had solid advice on what to fix, what to plan for, about how much it's all going to cost, and whether or not the vehicle is worth it. They give solid estimates, they spare us any surprises, and they get it done when they say they can- unless something unusual comes up, and then they say it like it is. These guys do decent repairs, but they are horrible at giving updates and timelines. I continually had to call and ask on the status of my car and was told "should be soon" "oh, I forgot to call you" and "tomorrow". On the day it was supposedly ready I was told to come down and pick it up. I caught a bus, walked a half mile in the rain, and was told, "just another hour". read more

Best mechanic in town. Steve met me on a Saturday night when my car broke down and took the keys. I had to rent a car to drive back home to fond du lac. Steve came in on Sunday and had my axel fixed by 230. I couldn't believe how affordable (160) he was and how friendly. Highly recommended to everyone with car trouble. read more

They are over priced, cost more than the car dealership. They did more than the initial estimate. It took them two days of having the car to finally tell me what was wrong with it. I purposely explained I only wanted a certain thing fixed, they charged me for going over the entire car to give me a detailed list of what was wrong. They also charge $120/per hour to do this. Plus they did an oil change because they felt it was needed ($60 which is more than the car dealer). They did not tell me they were doing this, just tried charging me for it! I will never take my car there again. read more

As a guy that is legally blind, I am not allowed to drive (which is very likely to be a very good thing), but I have been around a few times with a female friend. Though she is not super knowledgeable when it comes to vehicles and their inner workings, I found the staff, particularly Mr. Manyo himself, to be very much helpful and polite, and I was very happy th=at they did nothing to take advantage of her and her naivete. Always have great experiences at Manyo. I just purchased a 96 Dodge Ram conversion van. After the battery died I had it jumped and towed by AAA (Grube's) and the dudes who jumped it must have shorted something. Luckily, because I brought it to Manyo they promptly found the problem and gave my van a much needed tune-up. Shout out to Manyo Motors. My car was making all kinds of noises (I've been beating it to shit on MKE roads for 10 years). It was groaning, clanking, grinding. Turns out I needed an entire exhaust system (and I had tune up done, bushings replaced). Original quote was around $1000.00 (I love my car, 2005 Scion xB, I was ready to pay whatever, hardly ever need repairs, can put it on the visa). Anyway, got the work done today, when I went to pay, Dave tells me they were able to save the catalytic converter and save me $400. Boom. Done. and they shuttled me back n forth to my job/house. I dread taking my car to auto repair shops, for anything. But I had to get an emissions test to renew my plates. I looked up places that were near me and Manyo Motors popped up with all kinds of good reviews. So I took my car there this past Saturday morning, and although it was only for an emissions test, I was pleasantly surprised with the comfortable atmosphere of the place, and speed and efficiency of the service. The lady who conducted the test was very talkative and engaging, just a pleasure to chat with while waiting on the test to complete. I got an overall good feeling about Manyo and felt comfortable enough that if a real problem should arise with my car, I will take it to Manyo to be fixed. I am a new resident of WI and was referred to Manyo Motors. They fixed several problems with my 26-year-old car. They found two things I did not know were wrong (a bad tire and rusted muffler brackets) and fixed those, saving me danger and misery if there were problems on the freeway in winter. This truly is a 5 star auto repair shop Dave is very knowledgeable and fair. I called around when a lower ball joint on my civic need to be replaced and Dave quoted the best price. I came in and explained what the dealership had told me need to be done. They drove the car and found I need both ball joints replaced. Dave showed me how much play they had and I agreed to do both. Was suppose to get some work done on my car so it was ready to be picked up at 10 am. I drop off the car at 7am like I was told put the keys in the Dropbox to return at 10am to find my car parked in by another car with no work done on it. When I go in to ask what is going on the guy told me he didn't have a service paper for my car and was wondering why it was there. After I showed him my email and told him exactly what I was told a lady showed up and told him she forgot to print out the report. He told me he would get my car worked on right away and rushed out to the garage. Came back in in about a minute ad told me to wait it should be an hour and a half but they weren't going to rush to get it done because it was my fault for just leaving the car in the lot and he had "other things to do." So like a decent customer I swallowed my breathe and sat down in a chair. I waited from 10am-130pm. Finally I decided to ask what was going on and told the front desk lady I had to be at work in an hour and if my car wasn't going to be done I'd need to know now because I'm about 45 min away and I still need to get to my house to change. Shortly after our conversation, the GRUMPY guy who initially helped me told me to follow him this way. Now, a couple months later, I needed to get my car re-serviced and now manyo motors doesn't do that kind of work because of so many other customer complaints! Look for a new body shop please!!!!! I needed some major engine repair and I was very skeptical about where to go because I know some mechanics will take advantage of women who don't know what to expect. I had my car towed her because I couldn't leave it in the neighborhood it died, it was a Friday night. Monday morning, I asked for a quote and told them I would be shopping around. I did. I had my dad and brother check into the repair to make sure it was legit. The quote was fair compared to anyone else and made sense since he's a local business and I didn't want to pay to have it towed again. Well after it was done, it came out less than the quote and he put in a free oil change. This was seriously the best experience I've had with a mechanic...ever. David, the owner is understanding, fair and honest. From my perspective he runs a local business to make a living but help people in the community at the same time. I'm beyond floored with the customer service I experienced. Great shop and every employee I encountered was beyond friendly. Thanks for the great service!! I've been going to Manyo for years. I work on my own vehicle as much as I can, and I go to Manyo when I can't do it myself. They do almost all diagnostics for no charge which is really nice. Called several places to get struts/shocks replaced on my mother's 2009 Toyota Rav-4 and we decided to go with Manyo Motors. I told the person on the phone that I was out of town and my mother would be in with the vehicle and a list of things that Andrew Toyota told her needed attention, to include the CV Axles, he informed me that he would take look at her list and call me with the estimate. After she arrived the next morning, he verified that her struts/shocks needed replacement, but he could not find anything wrong with the CV Axles...not even a leak from the CV Boots. They replaced the struts/shocks at a cost well below Andrews Toyota and saved me over $500.00 because the CV Axle did not need replacing. Thanks for being an honest company! Thumbs up!!
