Blandest food ever! I ordered cashew chicken, mushroom chicken, teriyaki chicken, and noodles. Like hardly any sauce or flavoring at all with anything, and the noodles were just bad. I had to drown everything in soy sauce and even then I ended up throwing it away. read more

This place has gone downhill in a hurry. I ate here for 10 years and was happy, but sometime in 2021 the tastes I had come to love were removed and replaced by something else. Maple Express is known for one thing; Szechuan Chicken. Every person orders it and it was always fresh, crispy, and sweet. All other sides pale in comparison, mainly because they are not nearly as popular and sit for hours at a time. But earlier this year something changed. I don't know if the recipe for the Szechuan changed, or the owner can't get the correct ingredients because of some sort of Covid shortage, but it is different. The chicken is no longer crispy, and the sweetness is almost gone and replaced by a vinegar taste. I went a few times to test this, telling myself that they must have just been off that day, but to no avail. Today I took a coworker that hadn't been there is a while and he also complained about the change. The one dish that made this restaurant is forever gone. Today I tried the broccoli beef and cashew chicken. Most of both are in my garbage can beside me. I'm disappointed that a spot that I have relied on for so many years is coming off of my normal lunch route. So long Maple Express. read more

Went here for a weekday quick lunch to satisfy my craving for Chinese food but avoid a buffet. What I found was very similar to Panda Express, but fresher options. Pricing was reasonable, service was quick and friendly - server offered suggestions and a sample of their most popular seller - and was not crowded. Portions were huge, as usual. Ordered fried rice, egg roll, lo mein noodles, teriyaki chicken and Schezuan beef. Flavors were fine but nothing amazing and egg roll could have been cooked a bit longer. Will return simply because of the freshness and the quick service and to see if there's something else that is more to my liking. read more

Maple Express use to be my #1 place to get a quick order of good Chinese food. Over the past couple of years, their quality of food has dwindled while the price has gone up - they even charge more if you use a card to purchase your food. I think management should revamp the choice of the rice and noodle option. The product currently is VERY bland and adds no value to the entry. However, I do enjoy their Schezwan chicken. This place has gone downhill! It used to be one of my favorites years ago. But my 2019 visit was very disappointing. The noodles are now spaghetti! I got the Szechuan chicken and the spicy beef. The chicken was very dry (when though they were busy and it was fresh) and the sauce just tasted like corn syrup. There was almost no flavor other than sweet. The spicy beef had 6 small pieces of beef and the rest was vegetables. The sauce was just brown gravy with something add for spice. There was very little flavor. The fried rice was ok. It cost us $41.50 for us two and our two kids. Sadly, I won't be back. read more

Maple Express has amazing Szechuan Chicken, especially for a fast food Chinese restaurant. Saturday hours should be adjusted. I arrived at 11:10 am expecting that they should be open by 11:00. One of the signs said they open at 11:00, another said 11:30. I decided to wait. There was already two cars waiting in the parking lot for them to open when I arrived. I saw 9 other cars pull in, park, look at the hours sign and/or check the door and then drive away. Finally at 11:40 they decided to open the doors. It appears that if they would open at 11:00 am, they would get enough business to justify the extra half hour. read more

My new co-workers directed me to yep guessed it MAPLE EXPRESS! I felt like it was set up like a fast food place (think panda) but nicer like a sit down restaurant. Food was on par for the price but the restaurant was much nicer than I would expect for the price I paid. I will be back. Great food for the lunch price I paid. GIVE IT A TRY! Update: I've been back a handful of times and the staff is always friendly, the food is fresh and consistent. One bit of advise: if you order the 1 item meal or the 2 item meal you get the same amount of food. They fill up your plays you just pay extra to have the verity it seems. I am a fan. First, Maple Express is my favorite Chinese food. Reason for 2 Star is because of poor management and bad business practices. Some have express concerns about food quality going downhill but I havent noticed that. They are charging an additional 4% Credit/Debit card fee which Utah it is restricted to charge additional merchant fees rather than offering a cash discount that is legal. Additionally they have a very tacky sign posted on their soda machine that essentially suggests they care more about a 10-20cents of soda costs than leaving message with custoners they value more than their honest customers to share a message for a very small percentage of customers who just spent $12 on food but dishonest about soda. Makes me just think I am in a restaurant with a bunch of dishonest crooks or the owner believes the are enough more important than focusing on having professionals and families feel comfortable eating there. read more

Rude service. Good food, if you don't order the food a specific way, they will over charge you 4 or 5 bucks. Don't ask how to order the food because I haven't figured that out yet. I went in tonight and ordered the same thing I always order and somehow it was nearly 5 bucks more, with less portions. I live in Ogden and really enjoy the food at Maple Express. They have some of the worst customer service there is. I called ahead an order knowing it would be a line out of the door busy on a Friday night. Came inside approached the register and was ignored. Instead other customers were waived forward. No one spoke to me for over ten minutes as I stood there waiting. No food was set aside ready and no other employees came to approach me. Maple Express is a run down-family owned Panda Express. The staff is very unfriendly. Upon arriving, half of the staff were on their phones, I later learned that the girl working the front was the owners daughter, and the dad was present and didn't stop her from being on her phone in front of customers. The food looked cold and unappealing, and I ordered chicken teriyaki. When I received my food and sat down, I immediately opened the foam box to find what did NOT look like chicken. I decided to be brave and take a bite. Unsurprisingly, the "chicken" was pink. I hate being that person, but I did take it back to the the counter to show them that it was under cooked, and I asked for a refund. The before mentioned girl, said "Dad, this girl wants a refund, the chicken is apparently pink." Apparently? I showed her exactly where I bit into and I was apologetic even though I didn't personally cook the food. Her dad voided the whole transaction, even though I bought a drink, he was very nice. The staff and food however, disgusting. Meanwhile, while sitting and drinking my drink with the other people I came with, the staff proceed to sit in the dining area, and play on their phones and continued to stare at us with a mean look in their eyes, in front of all the other customers, a little unprofessional if you're asking me. read more

This is my very favorite restaurant in Ogden. The szechuan chicken is marvelous and at only $5 for their basic "maple plate", You really can't beat this place. The only problem I have with them is the hours. They close much too soon (8:45pm) for me to enjoy their wares most days.
