Yes award winning for a reason. The AC was out so my experience of the ambience may have been skewed. It was really warm and humid inside. Lots of people already seated and eating by 5:30 PM. Service was friendly. I ordered for takeout because it was so busy. Ordered the coconut & sweet pea s sushi.

So, landlocked state, sushi...YES! First off, my service was exceptional- friendly and fast. Brittni was the bomb! Second, offerings were quality, with some unique flair. I can generally tell if I am going to like the sushi based on the miso soup quality (I know that sounds weird)...but this miso soup did not disappoint! Rich in flavor, copious in size and just the right amounts of seaweed and tofu- a 10 on the miso soup! The seaweed salad and garlic edamame are great apps. Very flavorful. I added the octopus to the seaweed salad which was a nice combo! The nigiri was generously sized and fresh flavor and the cherry blossom roll was a great combo with salmon and tuna. Ambiance is casual, but cute for sure in the adorable setting of this old town, downtown Ogden. I will be back!

Very friendly service! We got the oyster shooter, miso soup, sablefish nigiri, black jack roll, escolar-hamachi roll, kamikaze roll, and the smokin hot-machi roll. They were all good, our personal favorites were the black jack and escolar-hamachi rolls! Tona has some unique rolls that I haven't seen before so it was nice to try something different. The prices are a bit high with a lot of rolls being around $20 but I'm glad the less expensive rolls were delicious too.

Pretty yummy with great service and atmosphere and even better food. Not super loud so you can have lots of conversations. There are lots of things not on the menu so be sure to ask your waiting. The best thing I got was the sweat pea roll. Has honey and jalapeños.

At first, this place gave me total New York hangout vibes -- cool atmosphere, fun energy, exactly what you want heading into New Year's Eve. I was actually excited! ...but then the food arrived. I came in with high hopes based on all the great reviews, but the sushi was a letdown. Very average fish selection, and the salmon skin roll had cold skin and dry like it was pulled out of freezer... with lemon? I couldn't even finish it. And that's a first for me -- I've never left sushi behind before. It definitely made a memory... just not the one I hoped for. Great vibe, disappointing food. I hope 2026 year will be better for both of us

Make sure you get the semi private room! You sit on pillows seemingly on the floor but there is a hole cut out on the center for your legs. It's a cool experience. The grinch roll is so innovative and delicious! Service is OUTSTANDING! I believe Kelly was our server and even brought out a complimentary dessert for our graduate. Red devil roll felt like it was missing something to give it that extra kick. Caterpillar roll and chicken teriyaki were solid. Such a cool spot with wonderful staff. Most importantly do not skip the oyster shooters! Insanely good.

Food quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Best of State for a reason! I had the pleasure of trying out Tona for the first time after sampling their delicious flavors at the Best of State party in 2023. It did not disappoint. Our wait was a bit longer than expected since they do not take reservations on Friday and Saturdays, but overall it wasn't too bad. Once we sat down, the service was quick and seamless. We were a group of 6 and ordered 2 appetizers and 7 rolls to share. Everything tasted so good and fresh! Can't wait to go back again!

I don't make it up to Ogden often, but I was lucky enough to get a table here this time. The sushi was great with plenty of flavor. I was most impressed with the Grinch roll, that definitely caught me off guard in the best way. I can definitely see how this restaurant has won so many awards. The restaurant itself is pretty small, and I wish we could have made a reservation or joined a virtual waitlist, but otherwise the decor was nice, our meal came out quickly and the flavors were fresh.

Love this place! Very chill vibes up front, but in the back they have a really cute traditional set up where the tables are on the ground and you have cushions to sit on. The service was really great. Very attentive and nice! Now the food was really good! I loved all the different rolls they offered and the appetizers were fantastic! I will warn you though, it's definitely on the pricier side. Overall, I would highly recommend.

Out of all the sushi we've had in Utah, Tona always has the best sashimi and oysters. It's the only sushi my wife looks forward to getting every year on her birthday and always a nice treat to taste that fresh ocean flavor she misses from the Philippines.

They had us in one of their private rooms which was really nice for our family. It was helpful to not feel too stressed out if our kids were bothering anyone else, and we could relax and enjoy our food a little more. The service was fantastic. We got our drinks quickly and they gave us great recommendations of what rolls to order. We ended up getting three rolls, a bento box, and two orders of yakisoba noodles for the little ones. The kids noodles came after our food which was a little hard for them (they have zero patience) but the amount of food we ordered was enough to share with them before they got their order. The portions were massive. We absolutely loved our sushi rolls. My husband and I talked about the cosmopolitan roll being one of the best rolls we have had! Everything was fresh and had incredible flavor. The yakisoba was also delicious. They came with a lot more noodles than I was expecting! Each bowl could definitely feed two people. We had such a great night. We will definitely be back. It was an easy place to dine with kids, but I'm hoping the next time we go can be for date night!

It's great that the sushi is buffet style because your speed to eat is at your own discretion. Overall it was a great experience. My only complaint is I felt 4 pieces to a roll wasn't a full roll but does make sense because you can choose many options. It is about a two-hour trip on transit each way for me to get here, but since I had the day off, I wanted to make the journey specifically to visit this location and walk around the area. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. I walked in right when they opened at 11:00 AM. Despite being one of only two tables in the entire, huge restaurant, the service was chaotic and aggressive. The staff was openly arguing and yelling at each other across the kitchen and floor because they couldn't remember what was on the specific ramen I ordered--which is wild considering the menu only has about 10 options. The food itself fell totally flat. They warned me the broth wasn't fully ready/hot when I ordered, but even when it arrived, it was lukewarm. It was steaming, but nowhere near the piping-hot temperature required for a good bowl of ramen. Worse, the spinach in the bowl was incredibly gritty, meaning the kitchen didn't even bother to wash it properly. To top it off, I was completely rushed out the door. I was asked if I needed a fork for my soup (which happens every time), and while I was actively eating with a quarter of my bowl still left, the waitress interrupted to ask if I wanted dessert. When I shook my head because my mouth was full, she just said she'd be right back and slapped the check on my table. It was barely 11:30 AM and the restaurant was empty--there was zero reason to push me out. Frankly, this was unacceptable. I'll probably stick exclusively to the Farmington location from now on, even though the service there isn't great either. At least the kitchen staff there doesn't treat paying customers to a live workplace argument.

It was quite impressive. I started with a local beer, the Cerveza Roja by Ogden Beer Co., which was very refreshing and touch darker than other Mexican beers, which I really liked. I also ordered The Burger, medium, with fries and let me tell you it was one of the best burgers I've had in a while. Again, everything was on point. The patty was probably one of the thickest patties I've recently seen in a burger, all the ingredients were fresh, the meat was quality, and perfectly cooked (my mouth just started watering as I write this), along with the fries. The brioche bun was soft and actually smaller than the burger and ingredients combined which is usually the opposite nowadays. Seriously perfect. I also ordered an Old Fashioned, again perfect, and The Hole In One (Bourbon drink), also very tasty. They also have a nice variety of mocktails as well. Next time I'd like to try something else but not sure I can pass up that burger. The staff all had different favorites so that should tell you there's a lot of other great choices to try. I can't stress enough how amazing the staff and my server were. I also found out who the owners were and could see they totally set the example for everyone working there.
