Slackwater has been my favorite restaurant for a little while now, it's amazing! Today I ordered a special, and it took a little longer to come out of the kitchen than the other pizzas in my group. The server Antoni and the manager Griffin brought me a salad to eat while I waited and took the pizza off of my check. Not only is this my favorite pizza but they are very friendly and have amazing service, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody! read more

Not many really good places in downtown Ogden, however this is one of them. Easy walking distance from the Marriott and Hilton hotels. About one million different types of beer to choose from. Absolutely horrible "reservation" system and poorly trained host staff. Call 1 informed me they don't do reservations after 4PM on Friday, but they do have a waitlist. Need to callback an hour-and-a-half to an hour prior to wanting to get in. Clarified that with a gap like that, if our group's name is called earlier than the time we want and we don't have anyone from our party there yet, will they automatically remove our name? The young man said "no". Okay, I'll callback an hour-and-a-half prior. Call 2 is answered by a different host staffer. She tells me that for that size party there's currently only a 20-30 minute wait, so I've called far too early to get on a waitlist. I'll need to callback. She also tells me that if they call our name and no one is there, then we're booted from the list. Both points are in total opposition to what I was told earlier. Call 3 takes place 45 minutes until go-time for our group. Now the wait is one hour, not the half-as-much time as quoted in Call 2. Okay, not what we'd like to hear, but not a deal-breaker either. We finally get on the waitlist. Turns out we get notified via text in 40 minutes that our table is ready. Slackwater, take real reservations! When a group of 12 staying at the hotel you're sharing the parking lot is courteous enough to call ahead hours before, both the eating establishment and the guests should be looking for predictability. Unfortunately, that's not what took place. A member of my group got there five minutes before our tables were ready and checked in to say someone from our party was present. He was told it'd be an hour wait. The preteens they have working at the hostess stand didn't have the experience or something to inquire if there was already a name on the waitlist, but the member of my party tried to explain we'd already had it called in. He left in frustration for UTOG Brewery halfway down the street, convincing the others in our party to head over there. By the time I got there ten minutes later (within the window for keeping the notified opening), the waitlist that was set for 12 became a high top for one. I like the beer list and food. But would've preferred to eat with my whole party. Besides, the moment I walked in they were now able to seat me right away. By the time my buddy in the group said he'd gotten seated over at UTOG, I was already enjoying my first drink and my food showed up two minutes later. Slackwater, you let me down on customer experience. Even when I said to the pissy lil' hostess that my group of 12 was now reduced to a table for one, she exclaimed, "you're kidding". No, little sassy-pants. I was as serious as the total of three calls I had to make just to attempt a reservation for twelve. Between a crappy experience with conflicting information in multiple calls and someone at your host assignment not knowing how to match a walk-in saying our group already was on the waitlist, y'all have proven the point about why reservations (and far better training for host staff by management) are wise for a popular eating establishment. Instead of getting the chance to convince my friends from out of town how great the place is, your poor management style convinced them of quite the opposite. But the food was decent. read more

Stopped by for a quick lunch after a meeting. Had a tough time choosing between all the amazing pizza options or a tried and true Caesar wrap (one of my favs!). I ended up going with the Caesar wrap as it was wrapped in a pizza dough-best of both worlds! It was incredible and different than any wrap I'd had before. The pizza crust wrap was such a nice touch and the wrap was super flavorful overall. House made chips was icing on the cake. We were seated right away in the cute bar area. I sadly didn't get to try any of the local brews, and would love to do that next time. read more

Every time, the service was fast; the pizza was delicious and original; and I always came back excited to try a new menu option. Slackwater was highly recommended by coworkers, and I see why. Came back to our favorite pizza and beer spot in Ogden. The new specials in June feature strawberries. Including a strawberry fields pizza and a goat cheese salad with strawberries and a light poppyseed vinaigrette dressing (you can add shrimp or chicken). We had the June special strawberry and goat cheese salad, the tree hugger ( hummus and veggie) sandwich with mulligatawny soup, and the meatball sandwich with spicy marinara. Service was pretty good and food arrived timely considering the crowd at 8 pm on a Thursday. Ambience is pretty lively and can be pretty noisy during peak hours so be prepared. They had a live performance on Thursday night with solo guitar and vocals of 60s and 70s. Not really my thing. If you are in Ogden and want a great place for pizza and great selection of beers this is your place. read more

Have heard great things about Slackwater and wanted to give it a try. So on the last day of school before Christmas break I checked my son out early and we went for lunch. Just the two of us. First off our Server Rylie K was amazing, very attentive, knew the menu, kept our table clean, and anticipated all of our needs providing them before we even asked most of the time. Oh and very friendly, highly recommend Rylie! The service was great 5/5! The atmosphere is fun loud barish, we sat next to a closed garage door with windows, I would assume they'd open the garage door during warmer weather. Now to what we're here for, the food. We tried the "you'll be stuffed sticks" and while they were good, and had a lot of cheese on them I felt the ones at the pie are better and the pies ranch is so much better. I'd give these a 3/5. We also ordered Nate's Buffalo wings, these were cooked to perfection crispy and tender with good flavor, a little on the mild side with no kick at all. They were very small but tasty. I like a little more meat on the bone and a little more flavor but would order them again. Maybe the orange Thai ones on special, supposed to have a little kick. I'd give these a 4/5. And finally we tried their Hot Honey DP. The crust and dough were very good, I enjoy the small pepperonis and their flavor, and I enjoy a little hot honey on pizza in the past. I'm wondering if I might be getting a cold because this didn't have the pop of flavor wow I was expecting either. It was very good but not the flavor explosion you get from say a honey curry pizza from curry pizza. I'd order it again and thought it was very good just not the absolute best. 4/5 All that being said there is a bunch of stuff on the menu that I'd like to try and really enjoyed what we ordered. Delicious food with good service. The restaurant was busy at dinner but the music (when I could hear it) was good (ie I recall hearing EW&F). The bar has an extensive beer list as well as alcohol options and has 3 TVs to enjoy. The food was really good. I tried the seasonal wings which featured about 14 wings in Alabama white bbq sauce. The wings were smaller than I expected which maybe means it's quality chicken as opposed to the monster wings served in other restaurants. I read the ranch was worth and trying and it definitely was. It's a must order with your wings. For the main entree I tried their most popular pizza, the California Sunrise (minus the avocado). This pizza is popular for a reason as it was so good. I wish there was a bit more chicken but it was just enough to make it ok. The best part about this pizza is how flavorful the crust is! It was perfect for a pizza such as this. Lastly, they offer a veterans discount (I think 5%?) which is appreciated. I can't wait to come back to this restaurant and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Ogden. read more

Enjoyed: the crust! I'm definitely someone who typically doesn't eat all the crust, but not true here- it's crunchy, doughy, and not bland at all. Also, the unique pizza combos. The wings were also solid, though I'd opt out of the garnishes in the future. Glad we knew about the Yelp waitlist- we got on the list after a hike and got there with only a 5-minute wait. They seem to manage a super high volume of people in a large space really well. Pizzas are all one size. Nothing on the pizzas aside from the crust really set the world on fire or was memorable, but we're also transplants from Chicagoland, home of excellent pizza. My wife and I used to go to Slackwater's old location, and this was our first visit to the new spot--and wow, it's nice. We hadn't eaten here in a few years, but the moment our food arrived, we were reminded exactly why we love this place. Service was excellent. Our server was attentive, friendly, and quick with menu suggestions, even as the crowd started to fill in. I ordered the Italian Job calzone and knew from the first bite I'd made the right call. The dough had that perfect hint of sweetness and great texture, the pepperoncinis on top were spot-on, and the whole thing wasn't greasy like calzones at other places. Absolute perfection. My wife went with the Joe Pesci sandwich and loved it. It came with soup, and she chose the new French onion--her first time ever trying that soup--and she couldn't get enough of it. We won't wait years before coming back again. I'm already looking forward to trying something new on the menu. Stopped in for a late lunch with friends on Tuesday 2/10. I have to say it's been since before Covid that I have eaten here. Rachel was our lovely server. Very friendly and accommodating. During our most recent visit, we ordered the hot honey DP and the monthly special. Iron Horse is also one of our favorites! Definitely one of my favorite pizza spots in Utah...have tried the Ogden, SLC and Sandy locations, and they are all good. Love the Ogden location, good vibes, close to 25th street. The pizza is awesome. Slightly sweet crust baked to perfection in their brick oven. We have tried them all, but my favorites are the Hot Honey Double Pepperoni and California Sunrise. Okay this spot is adorable and a must if you're in the Ogden area! I will say everyone and their cousins is there on a Saturday night so there was a bit of a wait - but I think that just goes to show how tasty their food is. Was looking for a place to eat while in the Odgen, Utah area near Salt Lake City. This place look good because it was close to where I was staying and it had a lot of positive reviews, including review volume. Pictures of the food, including the pizza and appetizers looked good so I decided to come and give it a try. As I entered it, it was very lively, it was a lot of people in a lot of groups. It didn't take long for us to get seated as there was not much of a way even though it was pretty packed. The ambience was interesting with all of its decorations.. Service was friendly and prompt. They brought us our drinks relatively quickly. The menu looked interesting with various pizza options, appetizers, salad. There was a sense of creativity with some of the items. Prices were pretty reasonable for restaurants of this manner. The drink menu was pretty expansive. Definitely a place you can bring a date to The garlic appetizer was interesting and was not good and it's broken up components but all came well together. The chicken tikka pretty good and the hulk pizza was just a little overpowered with the feta for me. Overall, this is not bad. read more
