This office is a well-oiled family business. Dr. Scott Bennion and his son Dr. Ryan Bennion are both knowledgeable, professional and quiet, but personable. Two of my kids have unique situations with their eyes, which needed additional explanation and monitoring, which Dr. Scott handled well. When we started seeing them 4 years ago, they didn't bat an eye when we walked out with our prescriptions (which we filled at Costco). Both me and my husband were disappointed with the transitional bifocals we purchased at Costco and asked Dr. Ryan about it the next year. He explained the difference in materials and we both ordered bifocals from the Bennion's M.V. Vision Clinic. The high quality lenses and frames, plus much better blending in the bifocals made a marked improvement. We see the difference every day! I also appreciate the way Dr. Scott's daughter helped me and my kids select frames. It's overwhelming, and important because we're wearing those every day for the next year! She helped us zero in on the best size, and then showed us options in a non-pushy way. read more

Jennifer Bennett did my hearing test and fitted me for hearing aids and I couldn't be happier. She was very professional, answered all my questions and spent a good deal of time with me. She helped me make decisions that were right for me with my age, lifestyle and hearing needs. No question went unanswered. She is the best as I had gone and had a test prior to this one and no comparison. This is a great place and I highly recommend it to anyone needing hearing aids especially first time users. I have had the same eye doctor for many years but I recently moved and decided to give these guys a try, I also have a hearing loss in one ear, so I thought I might be able to use those services as well. As it turned out, I will never return here again. So for starters, this company seems to schedule people all on top of one another, the waiting room was full of people and totally chaotic, people were everywhere, not at all what I'm used to. The actual eye doctor was good, he did a thorough and competent exam, took his time, reviewed everything, etc. but that's where the competency stopped. From there it just goes downhill. The people behind the counter were massively disorganized, the person on the left side didn't know what the person on the right side was doing. Two of them looked to be high school kids and didn't seem to actually know anything about anything, but maybe that's just me. I prepaid for my appointment, but the woman didn't know that and wanted to charge me again, on top of that there was literally no one to help me with getting actual glasses, but yet there were 3 people standing behind the counter just looking around and getting in each others way... weird. Anyway, fortunately because I have worn glasses for many years, I only needed to have my prescription updated in my existing glasses, I didn't need new frames. So I gave them my Guess frames and my Oakley sunglasses frames and told them to put the new prescription in them. I paid them over $700.00 for that (not even buying any frames) pretty pricey, but I paid without complaints. I week later I received a phone call from this place. The "lab" broke my Oakleys and would I like to buy something else? Seriously, so they destroyed my property and would I like to pay them to buy something else? So when I called them back, they are accepting ZERO responsibility for the fact that I gave them a pair of perfect $300 frames WITH $350 prescription lenses in them, they broke them, and their response is, "not our problem" because I didn't buy THEIR frames. So it's like this, I take my car to the mechanic, a week later they tell me that they broke my car (sorry sucks to be you) and would you like to buy one of our cars off the lot? Not even an offer for a discount, you know, because we feel bad 'THAT WE DESTROYED YOUR PERSONAL PROPERTY' or anything. BUYER BEWARE, if you let them touch anything that's yours and they destroy it... it's your problem... not theirs! Think I should take them to small claims court? I bet I'd win at least the cost of my destroyed property due to negligence. Yelp deleted my first review because I wasn't logged in (oops), but I'm soooo pissed off by their lack of accepting responsibility for their own screw ups, that I'm rewriting it all over again just so that someone will know about their terrible business practices. Been going here for about 2 years now and they are great. A few times I've needed immediate help from them (lost my prescription, needed a set of "trial" lenses to get me thru until the next visit, etc.). They are very flexible for getting/changing appointments which is very helpful (for me at least). Beth V's review is very odd, 1 star for just a front counter experience?? Anyways, I recommend this place, they've taken care of my eyes and are attentive to me. read more

Every time I go in or call the 2 front desk ladies act, and treat us, like we are bothering them. They are rude and it seems as though we are interrupting them. When we set up appointments or go pick up contacts, they act as if they are doing us a favor by stopping what they are doing to make the appointment or grab what I have paid for. That's after I stand there for a while so they can finish their gossip. read more

When I had an emergent problem, Dr. Scott came in on his off-hours to treat me; and gave a great referral for my cataract surgery. read more

I think the clinic and Dr Ryan are great. They are all very nice from the minute you walk through the door. Dr Ryan is very knowledgeable and competent and has helped me for years. I like him and his staff so well, I drive all the way out from Gig Harbor twice a year. read more

I came for an exam and to get a prescription for contacts/glasses at the end of last year. The doctor was sociable, nice and did a good job, but one of the gals at the front desk seemed a bit curt and not very friendly. Customer service is so important to me. I will probably be going somewhere else for my next exam. read more

That was the explanation I needed before paying our bill. I was irritated and unsatisfied that when we called, the front desk person, who was very kind I might add, told us the doctor would call us back but she called us back herself to say the doctor was too busy. Which in my opinion, meant he didn't want to deal with complaints or felt that he was too important. She told us the charge was that amount because he was an intermediate new patient and that new patients did not get the benefit of existing patients and that what he had done was "intermediate" I asked what that meant and she said that it was more complex. To me, all he did was take 5 mins to look at his eye and told him that he was going to be fine. She told me that normal exams were about $80 so then it made even less sense that a 5 min consultation was that much. I do find in funny that I couldn't get a decent explanation when I called but got one on yelp. Anyway, the bill has been paid and we're moving on. The rating has been up since he provided an explanation. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at Maple Valley Vision Clinic. From check-in, to the exam to helping me find the right glasses, they were great! After just one visit I felt like I was visiting friends. I would highly recommend Maple Valley Vision Clinic to anyone. read more
