It is nice that the sink is outside of the room with the toilet and shower, so others could get ready. The beds were comfortable. There is a little porch area to sit and visit. The road is not far away, but traffic was not bothersome. We stayed in one of the 2 room cabins the next weekend. (July 4th). The cabins are set back farther on the property. They seem secluded as you can watch the creek and sit on the porch under the big shade trees. The cabin had a kitchen, living room, 2 rooms each with a queen bed. Again the sink is outside the bathroom which I like as it is easier to share with others. There is free kayak use with your stay. What a bonus. Dave took great care of us and answered any questions we had. It was nice to not be stuck in a hotel room where others are walking up and down the hall and slamming doors. It was a treat to be able to enjoy sitting in the porch in the evenings. We would stay here again

This is a classic motel with the doors to the rooms leading directly outside. The rooms are not large and are a little awkwardly shaped, making tv placement a little weird. However everything was very clean. The room I booked had 2 beds a small dinner table with 2 chairs. A refrigerator and coffee maker, along with a medium sized TV and 1 bedside table. The bathroom was also kinda small, but it did have a walk in shower with a shower head high enough for tall people. My only real issues was there is almost no storage. No dresser andbonly a small hanging rack. Also the lighting is a little dim. The plus are the beds are very comfy. It's Individually own, not a corporate monster. It's dog friendly. Plus the location is great. The service was super friendly. I've never checked in via text message before, but it worked. Overall my stay was wonderful! I give it a 5 star review. Would I return? Absolutely, and my doggie agrees. It hard to find a nice place to stay that's dog friendly and fairly priced.

It felt a bit misleading compared to how it looked on the website but we didn't care too much.. We did enjoy the pool and hot tub, and overall the place has more of an older, vintage feel. The staff were really nice and anytime we requested something it was handled quickly and everything went smoothly. I would consider staying again, but I would maybe skip the balcony next time.

While kids are welcome, and there are usually some around, it's generally very quiet - just the sounds of the lake and the breeze. Since these cabins are on the south lobe of Lake Leelenau (which is much bigger and less busy than its partner to the north), most of the boat traffic is far enough away to just be a gentle rumble in the distance. The views from the shore are some of the best in the region. Wine vinyards, farm fields and forests dot the rolling hills that surround the lake. The cabins themselves are awesome. 1940's one-room fishing cabins are charming, romantic and cozy. A small kitchen space (fridge, stove, sink, counter) is adequate for meal preparation. There is room for a queen-size bed. And there is small bathroom (toilet and shower) in the corner. The grounds are well maintained grass with a few flower beds. There is a cute gazebo, a hammock, and seats around a fire pit on the beach. The cabin is the perfect base for exploring beautiful Leelenau Peninsula. Dotted with numerous award-winning wineries, cute shops and excellent restaurants, we have no trouble spending two weeks here. This area is also home to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore - voted the most beautiful place in America by Good Morning America last year. And if you are into casinos, there are even a few of those up here. This is truly, paradise on earth!

It is a lovely log cabin with a great living room with a television that you are allowed to watch Netflix on and a kitchen, which is mostly used for cooking breakfast. It also has a hot tub, that you can use at your leisure. The best part about the bed and breakfast is the beach with its patio, deck, fire pit, kayaks and canoe that you can use. We stayed in the master suite, which was huge with a huge bathroom that had a claw-foot tub and double headed shower. It was pretty cool. The other rooms appeared to have a separate bathroom from the room, but I did not pry too much to find out if this was true. One thing I did notice was that you could hear people in the neighboring rooms, because the windows were open. There is no air conditioning, but because it is on the water the room stayed nice and cool and air conditioning seemed unnecessary. Ted and Marie, the proprietors, were great hosts. They made a very simple, but lovely breakfast of Grand Traverse Pie Co. Quiche, yogurt, fruit, and freshly made muffins with orange juice and great coffee to drink. At breakfast on Saturday, we had a nice chat with the owners and some other guests. They also gave us some pie for dessert! The hosts really impressed me on the last night of our stay. We were on the beach deck drinking a glass of wine and enjoying the beauty of the bay, when Ted came down with some wood for the fire and helped us build a fire, then left us to enjoy it. He also had said that the paddles for the canoes and kayaks were broken, so he bought new ones while we were staying there and we were able to go for a really great early morning canoe trip prior to check-out time on our last day of our stay. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is traveling as a couple or alone.
