Went in for lunch, and was not impressed. The place looks nice, our waitress very attentive, the food not worth a second visit. I ordered from the lunch menu (fried shrimp and steak) and for the life of me I will never understand why they ask how I would like my steak cooked if they only know how to make steaks well done and partially burned??? I ate the edible portions, and when the waitress asked how everything was I mentioned my steak issue. She apologized, and it truly wasn't her fault, but tell that to the cook who I could hear in the kitchen telling the waitress it was her fault because the food sat in the window too long and the steak continued to cook. I ordered a steak salad, BECAUSE IT WAS LUNCH, but upon reflection I think that was the wrong thing to order. My advice is to order anything but the steak salad. For this immediate area, a clean, air conditioned, white table cloth restaurant off the main drag is a find, but I wanted go out of my way to come here. I had been to Maranatha twice before and the food was not good. It had been two years and we decided to give it another shot. We went for my N-Laws Anniversary dinner and the food was VERY GOOD! I ordered a steak salad to go. The ingredients are ok but sloppily thrown together with big chunks of iceberg lettuce including the stalk and some of the lettuce tips were turning brown. Maranatha catered an event recently which I attended. The food was okay, a little bland, but they didn't provide serving utensils, so the host was scrambling to find something. And who serves ice tea with no ice, especially on a 90 degree plus day?! The biggest problem though was that they were asked to provide a vegetarian dish, which they did, but they told the host it was the wrong tray! A solid 4 stars. I would give 5 if things were more consistent. I visit this place fairly often. The waiters and waitresses are usually very attentive as well as friendly. They have a different special each day of the week. I do not recall what days are which special but the grilled chicken and tri tip specials are top notch. I recommend their prime rib and the ribeye. I went to Maranatha Steakhouse last night. I have been there several times before the cuts of meat have always been outstanding. I wanted a good steak last night so I ordered the Top Sirloin and Scallops which was $29.00. The steak appeared to be cut against the grain which probably accounted for the toughness. I got 3 small overdone scallops on the side. I complained to the waitress and she had to call the owner to discuss options. When she returned she said she could give me a filet mignon but I would have to pay $9 more. I agreed as I wanted something to eat that was palatable. This restaurant does a great business and their prices are not cheap. I ended up with a $60 bill including their keto dessert which was excellent but cost me an extra $9. The service was great but this is a case where the owner does a great business but it is apparent to me he is making big money but is greedy for more. So sorry a God driven business has become so mercenary. read more

Enjoyed dinner on a Friday night. My New York strip was huge and seasoned and prepared perfectly. Quite possibly the best baked potato I have ever eaten in a restaurant. If this is the best steak place in the valley, I feel sorry for the valley. Came here Valentine's day, and got seated immediately before 5pm. Ordered the 1lb Rib-eye, a filet and a lobster tail. Also had salad, baked potato, and veggies. Total bill, with a single beverage, was $92 before tip. The rib-eye was tasty, not as tasty as the Outback, and same for the filet. We were surprised at the broiled lobstertail...this was the first time we've ever had one that was completely tasteless, I mean, it had no flavor at all, and the drawn butter didn't help either. The bread seemed like they got the loaves from Sam's Club and baked them. Nothing at all special about the bread. The salads were mediocre, typical romaine, shredded carrots and red cabbage, with croutons. The sauteed veggies were pretty good though. Way too pricey for the meal we got. HOLY COW! Before I get to the food, it's important to let you know that this place is as much a religious statement as it is a restaurant. The name is Aramaic for either "Our Lord" or "Come Lord" depending on the owners' actual intention for pronunciation. There are crosses and Christian trappings everywhere. Actually, other than the menu board there wasn't any non-Christian decorations in the building. Not being religious myself it was a bit uncomfortable. Also, they don't serve alcohol so if you want beer or wine or scotch with your beef you're at the wrong place. To be clear I'm not complaining but I would have liked to know ahead of time that I was eating at a non-alcohol establishment. The house ranch and homemade bread were great and the steaks were cooked properly. My friend had the burger and preferred it to Burgers and Beer's burger. Went in on a Saturday night for dinner. They give you carrots, cucumber and celery for starters with ranch and warm bread with butter at no charge. My hubby had the prime rib which was amazing and cooked just how we asked for it. I Had the shrimp and scallops with the loaded baked potato(Yum-o). Oh my! shrimp were fried and crispy and scallops were grilled to perfection. They just melted in my mouth. Paired it with a nice cold strawberry lemonade since they don't support alcohol and after had a cheesecake factory cheesecake with caramel drizzle. Atmosphere was very quiet and not too busy. We sat towards the back of the restaurant right under the ac vent.it was too cold and the pressure of the air coming out was intense. We advised the Waiter and he was friendly and helpful and turned it down for us. He was also very helpful with our meals. I will definitely come back and have dinner here if the opportunity comes up.
