This is the hotel restaurant and typically I feel the restaurants inside hotels are not very good but this one is delicious! I had a breakfast card which allows you to choose between the buffet or food items up to $23 so that's like an entree plus drink. The buffet includes oatmeal, pastries, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, fruits, cottage cheese, and super amazing delicious french toast. You also get to choose how you would like 2 eggs cooked AND an omelet. Food Items: Huevos Rancheros: Delicious. Tortillas were thin and crispy. I thought this was really good but my friend thought it was just okay. This goes to show that everyone has a different palate choice. She eats way more healthier than I do so maybe that's why? Smoked salmon: Another delicious dish! The hard boiled eggs that come with it tasted weird though. Land and sea benedict: My friend ordered this and I had half of one. We were tired and hungry. The manager at Hyatt was kind of enough to serve us a great dinner. I am fairly happy with the pasta, chicken salad especially the avocado toast. Great flavor and it's not greasy either. Everything is seasoned perfectly. A little spice goes a long way. read more

Methinks not indeed. This place is so gross. The food has small, cold portions. The wait staff is a bunch of bus boys, who speak very poor English. It's as if they've fired their regular wait staff to save money, and then dragooned the dish washer into serving. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish, and this nonsense includes the tip. One of the buffets was an $18 TERRIBLE hamburger and cold fries. Why? I had a grilled chicken sandwich that was apparently taken out of the ice box minutes before it found its way to my plate. We are staying at the Inn at East Beach across the street from the The Hyatt where this restaurant is located. We had been evacuated and were sharing our room, taking care of a handicap patient who has some specific eating restrictions. There was a perfect path for her wheelchair to access the restaurant. Our server was the bartender at the Mar Vista Lounge/Bar earlier for lunch today (12/7/17) and he went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. Besides the food being delicious, the service was exceptional. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you're staying at one of the many hotels in this area. After eating a lot of junk during the fire evacuation it was lovely to have a real meal. The salmon is very good with the peas and rice/risotto, the salmon was very fresh! The Brussel Sprouts with the Soy Mustard Seed glaze was also very tasty! Our server and food handler manager really accommodated us during this stressful time providing our patient with a fresh no salt added salad. We ate here for dinner and it was pretty underwhelming. The food was just OK, I had the salmon with asparagus and quinoa. The service was pretty average as well, except for the fact that we had to wait about 45-60 minutes for our food! My father-in-law had the sea bass and said it was just average as well. When we arrived at 5:30 pm, there was no one else in the restaurant which should have been our first clue. The ambience is very nice, as you can see East Beach out the windows across the street, but it's just unfortunate that the food and service wasn't up to par. My family went tonight for dinner and everyone had a different experience! Here it goes. My husband ordered, filet mignon (medium) with fried yuca It came medium and with each bite it got tougher. My daughter ordered a large Caesar salad delish, and I pan seared crab cake with mango,corn,red onion and cilantro. Unfortunately this dish made her tongue quite itchy,she was very uncomfortable and ha d to take a Benadryl at the hotel. My dish was the house special. Salmon under a bed of spinach with mouthwatering ravioli filled with ricotta cheese and covered in bur blanc sauce. I had a wonderful meal. I am sorry my family had problems. Fantastic hotel breakfast. Get the crab & lobster Benedict. My husband said his eggs were perfectly poached. That's a tough compliment to get out of him! The architecture is beautiful & there is a view of the beach right out the window. Clean restaurant with nicely set tables. The staff is great, they come with drink refills often. The buffet is great too, pretty standard but done well. Plenty of bread, muffin & pastry options. Eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, pancakes, granola with plenty of fresh fruit & yogurt. This place was beautiful. Staff were nice. I just didn't know if because we took the food out that it became dry and soggy although it was just 5 mins walking distance from Cabrillo Inn. The food was delicious here. There were no other customers, which was concerning, but it was only 5 when we ate there. I had a ribeye and grilled asparagus. It came with truffle fries as well, which I tasted, but gave to my daughter as I didn't need the fries. They were delicious. Kids menu chicken strips taste like gas station kibble. Filet mignon is overcooked and the chinichurri is sour instead of tangy. Grilled chicken on the caesar salad was so burnt it was bitter. Where do I start...BLUF we had a large party of 25 for a UCSB graduation dinner. Very slow service (we where the only people in the restaurant) no explanation....had to ask multiple times for bread, and drink orders. Server poured water into my Moscow Mule, after I told him not too, apparently the gentlemen was flustered with the amount of guest. I guess they don't normally see this many people eating in their restaurant, I wonder why? I ordered a chicken salad, chicken was flavorful but lettuce was soggy. Next I order the flat bread pizza, came out Burnt so I asked for another one. When the second one came out he said he would not charge me for the first one,well duh. Overall our party order pretty much everything on the menu highlights would be based on their review. The cerviche, and pasta dish. Bottom line, The ambience is what you are paying for, coastal view from the dining room. No surprise, hotel food is always marked up.
