A new year day 1, so we started off at a place we hadn't been to before. Cafe Lido is located poolside at Mar Monte Hotel on the Santa Barbara waterfront, within walking distance of the Santa Barbara Zoo, and this time of year has a wonderful sunset view until they close at 5. Even better, the friendly bar serves great Cosmopolitans. There are tables poolside as well as at the bar and indoors. We enjoyed our cocktails poolside along with a perfect grilled cheese on thick sourdough, homemade thick tomato soup, and French fries. A great start to the new year!

Nice stop for a quick breakfast. While staying in a nearby hotel with limited option this little gem was unearthed on Yelp. Limited reviews, but we were faced with no vehicle and the need to catch an Uber to the airport. Coffee was very nice. Richly brewed and fresh. The staff was very warm and cheery. We ordered a mash up of side options to create our own assortment of tasty morning options. Eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast made for a basic and delicious breakfast. All were well prepared and served quickly. Big bonus points for outdoor tables overlooking East Beach. Volleyball was already underway and the surf had enough swell to clearly hear the waves lapping on the sand. Quick service lead to us getting on with our day in short order. The waiter was nice enough to set us up with coffee to go. Would absolutely repeat on our next stay. A great way to start the day while bring a Santa Barbarian on the lose!

In this particular Fall day in Santa Barbara, I was craving mussels. To my delight, Cafe Lido had it on their menu. It surely satisfied my craving. We also ordered fish and chips (must have) and Niçoise salad. The restaurant is located at the ground level of the Mar Monte-Hyatt hotel. The space was intimate with a modern minimalist vibe; very cute space. They offer valet parking for $19/day, or there is limited street parking. We didn't get to explore more of the area but we were happy with our dining experience and would recommend 10/10.

Came here for Valentine's Day & it was a vibe! It's connected to the hotel and the space is small but there wasn't a lot of people so it worked out. It was a great spot to get away from the wind and cold last night! They had a DJ playing music and offered themed drinks. My friends and I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich, Mussels and the Truffle fries as an app. Everything was yummy, the mussels were spicy, and the truffle fries were quickly devoured!

This place is okay. The food isn't worth the price and the service is alright. Got lunch here and it was nasty but the drinks were good. Sitting out by the fireplace having a drink is all you should do here. Every tab has an automatic 20% gratuity so check your bill. Most of the bartenders will tell you that so you don't tip. But the girls that work the morning won't say anything. Kinda irritating that they wanted to get a double tip. But whatever, like I said gets some drinks if you're out by the pool or chilling by the fireplace. Don't eat here, go across the street to Reunion.

Located in the new oceanside boutique lifestyle Mar Monte Hotel, Café Lido offers a relaxed ambience (currently al fresco), wonderful staff, and delicious California-Mediterranean cuisine and cocktails. Executive Chef Nathan Lingle, who previously helmed The Ritz-Carlton in Philadelphia, the Sagamore Resort and Spa, and the L'Auberge Del Mar Resort, has created an approachable concept that shines! AMBIENCE (4/5) In diligently honoring COVID safety protocols, Lido, Italian for "shore", has set up a series of airy, well-spaced tables on the pool deck and around the pool. There's even a delightful fire pit with spacious seating for 4-8 people! The team wears masks and uses an online QR menu. FOOD (5/5) Casual dining with superb attention to detail and fresh, elevated ingredients! While I was initially skeptical of hotel dining, Café Lido's breakfast, all-day, dessert, and beverage menus are thoughtful, extremely tasty, and well-executed. The California-Mediterranean plates include a variety of salads and snacks such as warm marinated olives and charred shishito peppers as well as tuna tartare, avocado toast, prosciutto and burrata, summer rigatoni, and burgers/sandwiches. The beverage menu features local Spearhead Coffee, teas, fresh smoothies, artisan beers, refreshing cocktails and frozen drinks, and wine. Across a couple meals, we ordered: Date Shake: medjool dates, cinnamon, cashews, banana, coconut milk, and a dash of sea salt - as yummy and filling as it sounds! Green Machine: featuring baby spinach, kale, apple, orange blossom honey, kiwi, pineapple, chlorophyll, spirulina, wheat grass, and coconut milk, this smoothie packs a great healthy punch. House Green Salad: shaved rainbow carrots, diced bell peppers, heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, fresh greens in a tangy dressing - Lido's mixed greens might be the nicest house salad I've ever had the pleasure of eating. I'm not a big salad person, but I'd order this salad again and again. Cali Prime Burger: a tall stack of buttery, meaty goodness! The beef burger came perfectly medium rare as requested and loaded with fresh avocado, divinely sweet grilled onions, white cheddar, tomato, and aioli. Messy and DELICIOUS. Hot Pressed Chicken Melt: toasted buttery bread sandwiching flavorful grilled chicken, crisped kale (such a nice touch!), manchego, and smoked chili aioli. Local Stone Fruit Crostata: a perfect way to end a lovely dinner! The warm, flaky goodness and juicy plums of the crostata melted deliciously into the McConnell's vanilla ice cream. We semi-fought over the last few sweet bites! SERVICE (5/5) Wow! At every interaction and even when we ambled in 20 minutes before closing, the team was welcoming, prompt, and friendly. I'd recommend Café Lido to anyone and everyone!

New hours and the system as of Sept 5...now the restaurant is open for breakfast from 7am instead of 8. Also, you can place your order with a server if you're dining in (instead of lining up at the bar counter). The catch is...if you would like to dine outdoors, you'd have to wait till 8am when the pool opens. Also, be aware it gets very busy between 9am and 10:30sh weekends as usual. All servers are consistently good, friendly, and efficient! Their lunch and dinner options are good as well. I was going to have dinner @ Costa, but ended up eating (mussels) here after seeing someone else's meal. ;)

Ian had great recommendations to mix for us :)

My friend and I are in town for a wedding and discovered the gem that Cafe Lido is, our first day!! I highly recommend the salmon salad... superb! I also highly recommend our bartender Ian - he's the best, and his helpers, all very capable... Ivan, Scott, and Sebastian.

Visited this spot on my way to the zoo and it was the best decision. Went with a simple cappuccino and avo toast. The avo toast was to die for. The radish, pistachio crumble, and dash of lime made it so flavorful! I just wish I knew what kind of bread they use.

Banana Pancakes with Walnuts. Absolutely Devine! So good!

The food is great! I had the banana walnut pancakes. Absolutely delicious! The best I've ever tasted. The Ruby fruit smoothie was delicious as well.

The cocktail menu had some clever mixes, and the wine menu offered plenty (maybe even too many) suggestions. SERVICE - Overall service was attentive and effective. The staff worked with our needs and handled a couple of unexpected situations (a couple in our party unexpectedly showing up with their kids in tow) with aplomb. AMBIANCE - While you can't really see much of the ocean, the front windows face it from across the closest street, and the sense of it being there (especially with the windows open) counts for a lot. The house itself is upscale decorated and set. VALUE - Upscale and food and service matches the upscale prices, but it felt like we got worth for what what paid. We paid a bit over $100 a person -- but that included cocktails and wine (and the two kids, who got plates of their own).
