I was shocked when he returned the dress and the tacking is completely visible with threads hanging and the dress didn't lay right because of it. Not only did he ruin the dress --- see photos -- but he also made disparaging comments about the customer before me about how a certain race of people were cheap. I wouldn't go back. I went to 3 tailors prior, who all told me it cannot be done. I was in Glen Ellyn and stumbled into a tailor shop which was in the Banyan Tree mall downtown. Joe (owner) took a look at the sweater and stated "no problem". I was shocked and amazed. Joe was able to remove the embroidered logo. Now, I could enjoy wearing the sweater. Unfortunately, tailoring is a dying trade. I'm so grateful. Joe is truly a "Magician" and an excellent craftsman. I highly recommend Joe to anyone who needs a professional tailor. Wheaton 1Hr cleaners was convenient to the bride's house so we went there, and the service was great! The woman was really friendly and prompt with my fitting. I got into town a few days before the wedding and picked up my dress. Whoa - the zipper was really short and I could BARELY get it over my shoulders. It wouldn't open enough. There was no time to fix it but it was fine for the wedding. I was kinda bummed but just grateful it fit. The owner was really nice about fixing it after the fact - the dress was about $250 without alterations, and its just a black dress, so I really wanted to be able to wear it again. I dropped the dress back off after the wedding and she fixed it right up. It's perfect now. Although I was bummed to have it not be perfect the first time, I thought it was great that she was willing to fix it with me, and she called to follow up and see if I was happy with the dress or not after the fact. The alternation looks perfect so she is clearly skilled and provides good customer service. I'd give her another shot if I lived in the area. Reasonably priced too.

Regardless of where you prefer to drop-off/pick-up, the clothes are transported and cleaned at the Geneva Road location. I love that even though I rarely go in there, they know who I am and who my parents are (my parents frequent this cleaners). In addition to have gracious personalities, they are perfectionists - something I think is imperative when handling my nicest clothes. The owners go the extra mile to make certain that your clothes are perfect when you pick them up. Their tailoring service is top notch as well. I am always smiling when I leave this cleaners because in addition to being great at what they do, the owners and their employees are so so kind and gracious! Who knew a trip to the cleaners could be so pleasant?

The sweater was only worn once and was soft with no piling when I dropped it off. When I got it back the fabric was piling and falling apart. It wasn't a great quality sweater but when I returned to show them what I found I was told that it was my fault for buying polyester instead of wool and that it would have fallen apart at some point anyways so it's not their fault. Needless to say I left absolutely shocked. As a professional dry cleaning service they know fabric and if you know a fabric can't handle a service why would you continue to service it with risk of ruining it. The professionalism and customer service deserves 0/10.
