Came on a Wednesday afternoon - pretty slow. Decided on a small cup of coffee ice cream. Unfortunately, it wasn't very good. . It didn't have a good coffee flavor and there were ice chips in it. Stopped by this ice cream place as I was craving something cold. When walking up to the counter there is no one present. I had to wait a few minutes before the employee came out from out the back and was able to do my order. I ordered 3 different items: -Coffee milkshake 5/5 -Chocolate ice cream on a cone 5/5 -Strawberry shortcake sundae 3.5/5 - the cake was a bit on the hard and stale side and the strawberries looked a little on the old side This took about 10 minutes to receive and there were other people on line now. Yikes! If I owned this business, I would be horrified I was selling these cookies. I LOVE Great American Cookie Company, I mean LOVE. I have never had a poor experience until finding this location. The first time I stopped in, I got a cookie slice and it was stale. I chalked it up to "it happens". I figured maybe they don't sell a lot based on the location. I decided to give them another go today and got two chocolate chip, thinking they may sell more often and be fresh. Typically the cookies are thin and soft. I got two old chocolate chip bricks. I wish I would've taken my $4 and some odd cents to Kroger to buy a tube of Nestle Toll House slice and bake cookies. I can't even eat what I got, they're that bad. After spending the day at a World Food Championship my daughter and I were craving ice cream. My daughter said this was the largest, nicest Marble Slab Creamery she's been to in DFW. I was tempted by the beautiful strawberry shake advertised on the menu which I will definitely try next visit. My daughter enjoyed her treat that turned her tongue bright blue and I enjoyed my 2 scoop hot fudge sundae. I selected one scoop of coffee ice cream and one scoop of dark chocolate. The coffee flavor didn't really come through very strongly but I still enjoyed it. My sundae was very filling because of the super thick texture of the ice cream here. The employee working out front was nice and quick. His co-worker mostly stayed in the back. The ice cream cakes here are beautiful. read more

Located in the HUGE Galleria Dallas, this feels like a knock-off ("cheap") version of Cold Stone Creamery, which by the way, uses the same marble slab technique to mix your ice cream and the desired "guts". I got the birthday cake with mix-in's, and although it was $6 (yikes), I have to say it was terrific, frankly, it couldn't be much better. The GF and I were craving something sweet after dinner, so we stopped by. It was the first time either of us had been this location. We both got ice cream sandwiches. The cookies and ice cream were a bit pricey ($13), but were very good. It's not somewhere we would stop on a regular basis, but the Marble Slab definitely fills a need in Lake Highlands. The problem we noticed was with their staffing. There were two employees working. One of them was a young guy who was very polite and helped us promptly. The other was a high school age girl who was talking to two other girls when we came in. During our entire 30-minute visit, she never stopped talking to them, never served them anything and never helped any other customers. The guy apparently stepped into the back of the store for a bit, leaving her alone at the counter. During that time a lady came in and waited at the counter for a few minute but she was neither acknowledged nor served. But the girl just kept talking to her friends; after several minutes, the customer left. In my experience, it was pretty typical service for Lake Highlands businesses that use high school kids for staffing. Keep doing that to your customers and you will eventually have none left to serve. read more

We ended up here bc the line at Andy's was easily 40 people deep. We walked in and were excited when we were the only people there. However, Andy's probably would have been faster. I feel bad for the poor girl working on a Sunday afternoon by herself, she was moving as fast as she could. Poor management/staffing made this an hour long ice cream trip and about 30 min just to get our ice cream with only four people in front of us. Your ice cream had ice chunks in it as it was scooped from the bottom when it should have been replaced hours ago. It literally was bad and had no taste probably was out all day. It was stale or old or something. There was no hot fudge just fudge and I got barely any. I asked for it mixed in and the girl forgot and was like oh did you want it mixed in? Knowing it was too late and I of course had to just say it was fine. Then there were no spoons left and the girls were complaining about people coming in late in front of me. My grandmother died today and this was going to hopefully make me feel better. What is wrong with your workers? Clearly they're not even monitoring ice cream. These are the folks that deserve minimum wage and exactly why they do. And you wanted 6 dollars for this? If I could give this place 0 stars I would but I guess my yelp app is nicer than I am! This place in the galleria so I would think "decent customer service for over priced ice cream." Well the ice cream was definitely over priced but the customer service was PATHETIC. The ice cream ended up looking like a milk shake as it was poured into my cup and my so called "creation" lacked a lot of cookie dough so I requested some more. What I got was a giant piece of raw dough placed with a whole bunch of unnecessary attitude on top of my already mushy gross looking ice cream. Hey girl that works on Saturday afternoons...
