Chose MU for a med/large quartz countertop/backsplash job on our kitchen reno. Two other local stone installers were rude or didn't get back promptly. People on phone site were friendly and helpful, plenty of stones to choose from in a variety of patterns and colors. There was some confusion over whether an item marked "sold" actually was (spoiler alert: it wasn't) so make sure to ask if you like a particular one even if it's marked (especially given the stone deliveries come infrequently). Brian and the installer crew were punctual, friendly, careful and meticulous (as was the initial measurement and selection of stone sections for the parts of the kitchen for best effect). Clearly these guys knew what they were doing, and it showed. That said we are a detail-oriented house and noticed (over time) some small issues (a small seam that needed some revision as well as a stain left by a silicone drain mat (advice: don't use them if you have white stone)). Suffice to say Brian returned three times, listened, was friendly and made the needed changes. The company really stands behind their work which is both rare and very appreciated. Our sincere thanks to Brian and the team at BU--we are very happy with our countertops and backsplashes and have received many positive comments on both the materials and workmanship. My project did not go well. The kitchen redo was good, or so I thought, but after a few years wood on a cabinet started to peal. I called the company and was told the cabinet only had a year warranty. I tried to contact them several times about the issue, and I was ghosted. During the installation, the workers damaged my kitchen flooring. Again, I complained, but they did nothing about it. read more

I called to ask questions about a service I was interested in. I thought I was dealing with a professional person - he wasn't. He was rude and acted like I was asking dumb questions and taking up too much of his precious time. He demanded to know if I was interested in getting the work done - of course I was - why I was asking to begin with. I told him he could have been more patient with a first-time customer. I totally agree with the other reviewers. Jennifer and staff are amazing! I highly recommend visiting here if you are contemplating new counter tops. I knew I needed guidance and help when we decided to upgrade our old laminate counter tops, and I decided Marble Unlimited in Hillsborough would be the first place I would visit--and I am glad I did. As such, I didn't need to go anywhere else! Jennifer was patient with me throughout the process and explained everything. She took time to help me decide on what sink and faucet to select (even if it meant purchasing those items elsewhere). I was able to benefit from her personal experience (with the items in her own kitchen) and from her personal preferences. I was glad we had brought with us a tile from our kitchen to try to match with the counter tops and as soon as she saw it, she pointed out what I had already envisioned in my mind. We told her we were most concerned with durability and no maintenance and she knew exactly what we needed and wanted. The 2 installers were excellent--our install day was the hottest day of the year (to date) and they worked non-stop, efficiently, and expertly to remove our old counter tops and sink and install the new counter tops and drop in our sink (which was hooked up the next day along with our new faucet by our plumber--who admired the beautiful quartzite). I was super happy with this place. I used them based on yelp reviews and the fact that they have a slab yard of stone to walk through and see the slabs yourself. Which if you are going to get stone counters you need to be able to see the large scale slabs and not make a decision of a tiny 5"x5" piece. Daniel was so very nice. Jade walked us through every options going over prices and care instructions. She was so patient with us. They were very knowledgeable. I asked tons of questions and they answered them all. We picked out these marble quartz hybrid counter tops with marble backsplash. If you spend over $2500 you get 40sq ft of backsplash free. From the day we went. They came and measured 2 days later and installed counter tops and backsplashs a week after that and finished up grouting. From day one till comeplete was 2 weeks. Installers were super nice and worked very hard. Pricing was fantastic. Paid $5,000 for everything. Counters backsplash labor supplies sealing the counters the sink sink install. We need to modify the kitchen countertop. Cutting 0.5 inch from two sided to fit a new gas range. Marble Unlimited accepted this small job for $365. It's a bit expensive for the small work, but I appreciate that they accepted such a small job. Two workers came on Friday evening (2 days after I requested the work), and knew what to do. Initially my experience was good with Jennifer. She helped me pick out a granite remnant for a long bathroom counter. I was very specific as to what I wanted - since I had 2 depths of cabinet; we had 3 drawer stacks and 3 door/sink cabinets which were deeper. I wanted the counter to go straight across, no bump out. This was in writing and in the contract with Jennifer. Since I needed to be at work my husband was there for measuring. Our counter came with bum pouts almost 3" deeper that the rest and it looked awful. The installers called the owner and he started arguing with me and ended up telling me they could take it back but I would lose my deposit of 50%. He agreed to reduce the bump outs and the returned the next day. I was extremely upset at how demeaning the owner spoke to me and he threated to charge me for another counter to remake it. I regret every day I went with them since the bump outs sticks out 2" in an already tight bathroom and I sometimes hit it. If I hadn't been so specific with Jennifer it would be different, but I had it in the contract for a straight edge and the owner failed to acknowledge that. read more

Marble Unlimited was very helpful in completing our kitchen design. While it took some effort to drive out to their offices in North Durham and combing through their slabs of granite, the result is that I was able to select the exact slab that would be used for our counters. Once we selected the granite, their experts helped us by cutting the slab to fit our custom sink and did an excellent job measuring our cabinets. I saved a couple hundred dollars by bypassing the big box stores and going directly to the supplier. I would recommend them to a friend. read more

I believe their business quality has changed from what I've heard in the past. . First, let me say the positives about what we've experienced. The countertops we've had installed are beautiful and the showroom with the different granites were pleasant to look at. Ok that's it, now the negatives. The wood inlays that were installed in the granite attach our dishwasher were not measured correctly so we can't use our dishwasher at the moment without it tipping over. To solve the issue they wanted to just drill into our granite to attach the dishwasher instead of properly attach it. They were supposed to do our back-splash as well, but after ripping the tiles off of our kitchen wall they decided to not accept ITEX anymore (a bartering service used to pay for services between companies which we had a contract with Marble Unlimited for) in the middle of our job and told us we'd have to have someone else complete the job because they "can cancel anyone's contract when they want". There are now huge holes in our drywall which now have to be fixed by another company and now we have to order tiles and have them installed when the job should have been completed by now. I've had other contractors look at the state our kitchen is in and say they've never seen so much damage left before. So, while their work may look nice on their posted pictures, their reliability and trust is much to be desired and you should seriously reconsider before accepting this company to remodel your home. . read more
