Marc Wilmers fixed my parents' air conditioning system today with ease, professionalism, and very fair pricing. We couldn't be happier with his service! My dad has a subscription with another AC company that comes out every six months for routine checks and tune-ups. Unfortunately, they failed to notice that the system was low on Freon. When the AC stopped working, my dad called them for help. They charged him a diagnostic fee but still couldn't figure out exactly what was wrong. Instead, the technician proposed trying several different repairs to see if they would resolve the issue, at an exorbitant cost. My brother recommended Marc, and what a difference! Based on my dad's description of the problem, Marc already had a good idea of what was wrong. He came out, quickly confirmed the issue, and had the unit repaired and running again in less than 15 minutes. What impressed us most was his honesty. There was no guessing, no unnecessary repairs, and no outrageous charges--just knowledgeable, professional service at a fair price. We were looking for a new HVAC company as the one we used to deal with has turned me off with several different interactions. We did some research and had multiple recommendations from others for Marc Wilmers. We had them come to our house to give us an estimate on replacing the ducts in our attic. EVERYONE we dealt with was super nice and helpful. They came in with the most reasonable price for the estimate so we decided to go with them for the job. The crew of about 4-5 guys came in the morning and they were done in a few hours. My wife told me they were all super kind and patient. My 7 year old son kept asking to help them and they made a deal with him that if he helped a bit they would give him some money at the end of the job. Of course he agreed and jumped in that offer. So as promised, he got a few bucks when they were done. And they finished the job sooner than they anticipated. Every interaction we had with them was positive. I like that he's installed many units in my local neighborhoods and new the layout and obstacles. Since I upsized it was a quick easy process for us to work together on the esthetics of adding new vents and return air grills Marc and his crew came in a did a awesome job. I suggest getting new systems and maintenance done in the off season before the hot seasons arrives. Found my air conditioner was dying. The whole system is old. Got bids for a complete new system from three different people. These guys were the least expensive. I'm always skeptical because I want the job done right. This guy is local and has a reputation in our community for doing good work. He's been around a long time. And I liked them. Got a bid for a RUUD system. I asked about brand and he was very knowledgeable. He said he would put anything in I wanted but that was what he recommended. Did some deep research and the general consensus in the HVAC world is that brand doesn't really matter. They all are kind of built the same. What matters is the install and that's what's going to determine how well the system runs. Went with him and a five-person install crew came in. Had them put new ductwork in and everything. The crew is very knowledgeable and very efficient. You can tell when people are hacks and you can also tell when they really know their stuff. These guys really knew their stuff. I climbed up in the attic and took a look after they were done. Everything was installed beautifully. No corners cut. Super easy to work with. read more

Brief context: my family and I adopted an attic unit install from this company in our home when we moved in ~3 years ago. AC unit is ~5 years old as of this post. Marc Wilmers has been helpful in attempting to address issues with this unit. From safe T switch issues to refrigerant leaks despite microsealant, these guys have been available. Even refilled refrigerant to last us the summer one year. This job in particular seems like a combination issues with parts from the manufacturer and things not done to code. Had to pay another company almost as much as the original install from Marc just to get the unit reinstalled from the ground up. This was due to bad switch installs, leveled improperly, drainage installed improperly, and evaporator coil leaks, etc... I can't give this company a 5-star only based on this attic install and my perspective. I'm sure they have done amazing work on other jobs. This job missed their standard. Glad to have had their help in the past and would only call if there were emergencies now. Stay comfortable out there! read more

Update: there was a minor issue when we turned the AC on for the first time. They came out instantly, I forget our tech's name (it was a while ago now) but he was cool, he is from Armenia, and he seemed very experienced and helpful. He isolated the issue and fixed it under warranty, and gave us some advice about our panel (that as a contractor, made sense to me so we're following his advice on a minor tweak). I am a contractor. You cannot measure a contractor by how perfect they are, because there is NO SUCH THING. You can, however, measure them by how they handle it if something comes up, and Marc Wilmers Heating & Air came to the rescue fast and competent, and that to me says they are a good outfit. read more

I called his company and he actually picked up and took the service call. Ordinarily he sends out his service team and he handles large complex. New installations. But we lucked out and Mark came himself. He did an amazing job reviving Mom's ancient Air Conditioning and getting her through the season. Just another in a long line of 5-star reviews for Marc Wilmers Heating and Air! We had a 16-year-old system and my long-time HVAC company came out to repair it, and recommended replacement because the compressor had gone bad. Their quote nearly gave us a heart attack, so I asked friends for recommendations. Three separate friends recommended Marc, so I had him come out, along with another contractor suggested by a different friend. Both quotes were WAY less than the first guy, but Marc's beat the second guy by $1,500. Not only that, but Marc's guys routed a new duct line to an addition we'd just built, replacing how we had tee'd off the nearby duct. So now the new room gets much better airflow as well. Marc fit us in quickly, as this was in July, and his team was friendly, polite and quick. Marc installed a complete system including new ductwork in January. It worked great during the winter and now we are very comfortable with the temperature outside around 110 degrees. We moved into our new home in October of last year and, as the case may be, winter was approaching so AC wasn't really an issue...it wasn't until summer began and we realized that not only was the undersized unit cooling the upstairs not going to cut it, it was working way to hard and doubling (or more) our electricity bill. I reached out to Marc after doing a Facebook crowdsource. He immediately responded, immediately came out, properly assessed our needs and quickly set up the follow-up appointment to remove the old small AC unit and replace it with a new and larger unit. He and his team made quick work of the swap, made sure everything was working and even swapped out the Honeywell thermostats the house came with for the much easier to use Nest thermostats. He came early (and on time) and got out before noon. If that was all there was to it, it would be a 5-star experience. But that wasn't it. Yesterday (less than 3 months after install), we discovered a leak in one of the AC pipes in the attic that was causing a drip into the ceiling. It caused a nice water bubble over our daughter's bed (think Sword of Damocles...she called it a ceiling titty)...we immediately called our contractor to take a look, as we weren't sure if it was AC or a leak from our recently installed solar panels. He diagnosed it immediately as AC, took pictures and put in a drip pan to prevent more seepage and recommended we call Marc to come back. Within an hour, his team was onsite, diagnosing and repairing the pipe and beginning the process of drying out the drip area and assessing next steps (turns out we need to have some drywall replaced and the insulation thoroughly dried out). None of that should seem out of the ordinary for a vendor repairing his own work...thing is, it WASN'T his work...it was the work done by the original installer...and Marc offered to fix it...for free...because he wanted to make sure it was done right the first time. Doing the work well and doing it right is how you get customers. Going over and above is how you keep customers. And we are customers for life. PS - the AC he installed is fantastic AND with the larger unit our bill was cut in half...and with solar, we practically have no bill at all. Thanks Marc! read more
