Upscale trattoria in Lafayette the restaurant was chosen by my lunch guest. Clearly an upscale place id recommend wearing at least slacks and a collared shirt as many lunch guests were in suits or blazers Ambiance is traditional dark woods , bar area located in front of restaurant by entrance and looked like a great place to get a martini when in search I started with the cream corn and shrimp bisque with lump crab meat - solid but could have used a pinch of salt. Bisque was loaddd with seafood Entree was the salmon limon with asparagus.. The sauce that comes with the fish is a lemon/butter/caper and works well with the salmon For desert i had their lemoncello marscapone cheese cake.. put cake in front of me and i get weak in the knees.. this cake was outstanding Service was great from Shelby and we were given plenty of time to visit

From the moment we walked in with the sweet gent who held open the door and greeted us to the other hostess, super friendly staff. Our server, Alexis - very attentive. Alexis offered the best suggestion which we took. We had the lasagna, bursts and the Chicken Molli dish. So good. Finished it off with the caramel pudding dish! Everything was delicious. Thank you Marcello's !

Our third visit to this restaurant and it's consistently impressive. We had a reservation because it was my birthday. Three different staff told me happy birthday and there was a card on the table as well. The salad was great, the scallops were tasty, the fresh bread was hot and crunchy. Because it was my birthday, dessert was free and delicious. Service was friendly and very efficient. The wine selection is great. My favorite place to celebrate for a good price! We will be back!

I had a beyond incredible time dining at Marcello's. I came here for date night with my boyfriend, and it was one of the best experiences we've had. Our server was phenomenal and displayed just the perfect amount of attentiveness. We were at a table slightly closed off from the rest of the restaurant, which made for an even more intimate experience. I am a major wine drinker and LOVED seeing the bottles everywhere! You can get up and pick your own bottle from the walls that you want to have with your meal, or order from the "by the glass" part of the menu. What we ate: Calamari Fritti: perfectly fried calamari with a delicious marinara sauce (yum yum) Linguini Tritone: lobster, shrimp, crabmeat, spinach, and mushrooms in sherry cream sauce with linguini (really delicious but too much sauce) Shrimp Pepate: large shrimp sauteed with roasted garlic and crushed red pepper in a light olive oil sauce tossed with linguini and toasted pine nuts (phenomenal!) Chocolate torte: three-layer chocolate cake (too light for my taste but still good) Overall, the food was great, the wine was amazing, and the service was top-notch.

I came here for a birthday dinner and I just want to start by saying that the house bread may be the best bread I've ever had! It comes with oil/balsamic and it was literally amazing. The service was sooooo slow and there were barely any customers. Our dinner was for 8 and we didn't leave until after 11pm. The drinks were taking 20,30 min to come out. Appetizers took about an hour. The calamari was good but undercooked. The charcuterie board was okay, it was a large but there were more miscellaneous items than cheese/meat/crackers. I ordered the Tritone pasta. It needed seasoning so i added salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes and after that it was delicious! So, overall it's good but prepare to be in there for a while

Yes, it was crowded, but that's a healthy sign! In fact, we were lucky enough to find a parking space in the lot. From antipasto to dessert everything was top notch. So, we went to Italy and came back changed people. In fact, I started making my own pasta being inspired by what I experienced. There is a tremendous difference between fresh and shelf. We finally made it back to Sarrica's last Saturday, and I don't know how one could be more impressed, but they did it again! We got there early and immediately got a table. A half hour later the place was getting packed. We went straight to the Primo skipping the antipasto this time. Our food arrived quickly, and at first the portion looked smaller than before. But I was deceived! The dish was full! And delicious! And gone! I'm usually not known for cleaning my plate, but had we been in a darker corner I probably would be licking what's left! No, seriously, it's that good! This place would be popular in Sicily or Rome or Tuscany! You can tell someone in the kitchen is proud of what they're serving to be so consistent. There's no question we'll be returning - if we find a parking space!

Peyton and the remaining staff took great care of us - attentive / knowledgeable / friendly. Two surprises that we all took special note of however - the breakfast/brunch offered biscuit - & - the Pecan Seduction dessert - outrageously delicious. My first impression is that the service, and the setting are amazing. The "Sensational" salad was really great, sensational? It's as though something is missing, but I'd have it again. The steak was second, maybe third to the best I've ever enjoyed. (I have had hundreds of fillets) The texture was probably second only to Omaha Prime, (which still stands out as the absolute best in every category). The asparagus was not amazing, but good enough to eat. It was green and edible, unlike most where I can't eat the low portions. Overall I'd come here again, probably done than later.

The quality and flavor of the food here was amazing and the prices were so reasonable! The veal pannata was delicious, great size sized dish. The veal was flatted and fried perfectly! Anything on the menu I don't think you could go wrong with! ALSO this was our first time here and I have to mention the pallet cleanser with the lemon sorbet was just an extra special touch! I truly have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. You walk in and it feels like a luxury restaurant, but you don't break the bank on one dish! The chicken & spaghetti were room temperature so I'm not sure if the chicken is suppose to be served this temperature since I'm not Italian but I wasn't impressed. The sauce was super dark, another thing I'm not sure about but it needed more spices. My friend had the crepes and they were crispy so she really enjoyed them! I might go back to try another dish but not sure as of now.

So, when we finally returned to Lafayette I couldn't wait for my family to experience the most authentic Italian restaurant in the city. The decor had not changed one bit, so I had hope that nothing else did. Alas, it did. We had pasta and pizza, and neither was anywhere near what used to be served here. The spaghetti and sauce looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp long enough to dry it out, and the pizza was so underwhelming that my son considered having me evaluated for speaking of this place so highly. I've come to learn that the third generation is in charge now, but it's apparent no one cares in the kitchen. To rely on the name alone will not change the fact the sub par food is being served. I will consider that it may have been an off night. It happens. But in Lafayette an off night will cost you a customer who will never return. Competing with Imoelli's, Marcello's, and now Saricca's and Cugino, you're going to need to step it up. Pizza Artista has some of the best pies in town, and it puts to shame what came out of Alesi's kitchen. I wish someone could save this institution. It was a tradition, but now they've lost the tradition.
