Yummy authentic Italian food. Came here to Vaughan location with the girls to enjoy dinner and company. I was disappointed when two of the glasses still had lipstick stains although it had been washed. One plate had a green piece of food stuck to it as well. The waiter changed it. This place is a staple for Vaughan. Go here at least twice a moth for a quick pasta. Food is 10/10 for some home made Italian pasta and pizza. I usually take mine to go because I cannot stand the staff. Bunch of young kids working with an attitude and it never changes. Just a cycle of different kids same attitude. But that's Woodbridge for you! As I say again take it to go because you will give it two stars due to the unwelcoming atmosphere but you shouldn't miss out on the amazing food. I was looking for a child friendly restaurant to take my family for dinner. A co-worker suggested Marcello's. it was nice to see that other families with small children were enjoying themselves. Our waiter was very friendly to the kids. He even helped them connect to the free wi-fi. Everything we ordered was delicious. It arrived quickly and was hot. The pizzas we ordered were a hit with the kids. I gave a 4 only because my daughter said the pasta sauce didn't taste like Nonna's. Highly recommended for a nice family night out. read more

We arrived here on a thursday night just abit before 6. The place wasn't busy yet, so we got our seats right away. When we left around 7:30pm, there were already a line up at the door. Its pretty spacious inside, see alot of families and huge groups. We ordered a salad, linguini di mare, pizza di parma to share. The pasta was amazing, cooked perfectly. I personally love wood oven pizza, they did a great job on it. The roasted garlic is a great touch to the pizza. Because this is a white pizza, i find it alittle dry for my liking. We also finish the meal off with their house made tiramisu, not too heavy or sweet, love it. Anna, our waitress, amazing lady! She is funny, attentive, and very patient with us!! It's hard for me to eat Italian out, my standards are a little high because my husband is Italian and I've been spoiled with him and his mum's cooking. I've also eaten many wonderful dishes in Italy. Buy after hearing more than one friend rave about Marcello's I was hopeful enough to give it a shot. I was over the moon to see they had arancini on the menu, I haven't had a good arancino besides the ones my husband makes since I was in Sicily. And turns out I still can't find one that even comes close to authentic. These were below average. They were just small fried rice balls with some marinara sauce. True Italian arancini is bigger because it's full of beautiful ragu and saffron rice. These will just bland and sad. I was still hopeful for main, they have tortelloni on the menu! What came was not tortelloni. Tortellini is not the same thing as tortelloni, it's smaller. What I got was tortellini that could have been olivieri and a standard tomato cream sauce. I could have made better at home, and my husband is the better home cook. Overall I gave Marcello's a 3 star because my friend's pizza was good, still not the best in the GTA but it was better than my meal. read more

In response to Cecilia T's post on her negative experience at Marcellos.. I would just like to start off by saying that as a frequent restaurant go-er, I can completely understand how a restaurant would have to give away a table when a reservation is late (especially at a busy time like 7:00pm). As a costumer waiting in line, there is nothing more frustrating than watching an unoccupied "reserved" table remain empty for an extended period of time. I can understand the frustration that hostesses must undergo when they are repeatedly asked by every costumer in line about the unoccupied tables that are reserved. With that being said, if you have a reservation and are running late, it is only fair to seat those who have been waiting in line for a long period of time. As a fairly frequent customer at Marcellos, I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience. The hostesses and wait staff have always been nothing but nice to myself and my parties. I still can't believe that they do such an amazing job seating and serving everyone with such a high volume of costumers per night. It seems as though they always try their best to accommodate every costumer while serving authentic Italian food. It is unfortunate that you had a negative experience at this restaurant, next time I would recommend trying the feature wine of the week to easy some of the pain. read more

I've been to Italy a couple of times and this restaurant's atmosphere give me that home feeling. Taste is probably top in Vaughan. What throws me off is that when its during busy dinner time, they don't have enough staff so it's very hard to waive someone for service. I give it three stars for its authencity but there are much better Italian resto downtown. read more

I've been here a handful of times and would go more except that sometimes the hangriness kicks in and I can't be patient and wait for a table on their busy nights.. Everything I've had from here is delicious. Caprese salad, vodka penne, calamari but the two items I'm addicted too are their rice balls and their pizza. Ugh the rice balls are so crispy and cheesy and sit in an amazing tomato sauce. Me and my bf fight over these they're so good. Their pizza crust is perfect..It's crispy and chewy. This place is a must try but since it's close to the mall they can get super busy on Fridays and around 9 when everyone is done shopping. read more

Panzerotti was a bit dry so I ordered a side of sauce. Management will not allow it. I told them I would pay and the answer was NO. My friends and I left them 3 dry panzerotti , but we did tip the waitress. Moral of the story. Just because you are busy and making money does not give you the right to be rude, One day this will nip you in the but and I will do all I can do to help that. Always good food best value but lineups every weekend. Gamberi diavola is good but add in some calamari and sub in the mussel broth for the thick paste and it would be tops. Not as big a pizza fan here but pasta dishes are great. Try the one with fior di latte too. Antipasto platter is fantastic read more

My first time there and my last. The service was very kind, which is the only reason why Marcellos received two stars. I ordered an appetizer, Rotolo Ripieno, which is rolled pizza dough stuffed with cheese, tomato sauce, etc. When I cut into my app, the cheese was still hard and cold. The waiter apologized and suggested to get it in pizza format (just the same ingredients but rolled out flat). Came time to pay our bill, the waiter decided to charge us this "change" as a customized pizza as it did not exist as a current pizza. We were then charged for the each of the toppings that went onto this "custom" pizza. In the end, it cost more to have it as a pizza rather than cancelling the appetizer all together. read more

This is def one of my favourie italian plc so far, price is reasonable, service and food is amazing. Downside is they don't take reservation and always lineup here. We ordered the calamari (amazing, especially when you add extra lemon), gnocchi (which I'm not a huge fan of in general, but this was quite delish), a pizza w/ prosciutto, asiago cheese and arugula (only complaint: not enough prosciutto), and a caprese salad (perfection). I am a big fan of Marcello's in Toronto so figured that since I was in Woodbridge it would be great to check out their other location. The food was fantastic on par with the Toronto location. Food is great and will always be great. HOWEVER the reason i am giving this restaurant a 2 star rating is because our party if 8 usually orders alot.( usually on appetizer per person or more) the waitress was very judgey and repeatedly said 'wow that so much food!' Or 'wow you eats lots'. I felt judge the whole time and I'm over it. Most waiters wont comment on the amount of food we ordered. Most waiters here are better than this. Good food, nothing worth bringing this to a three star. I can see if someone is not Italian they may say its great food, but its not. The staff is miserable and doesn't want to be there, and they actually get upset or annoyed with you, If you asked two or more questions about the menu. This restaurant is really delicious, but their service is absolutely horrendous. It seems that they only cater to Italian people, so if you're not Italian, expect them to not give a crap about you. I think I've been to this restaurant around 5 times, and 4 out of those 5 times have always been served by the same woman. The rudest, middle aged, italian woman with black hair who wears glasses, shoulder length hair and has worked there for years. I wish I knew her name, but if you get served by her trust me you'll know who I'm talking about. She is the absolute WORST. And I avoid going there just because of her which is so sad to say. She is the rudest person I've ever dealt with in my life when it comes to a professional atmosphere, and I used to be a server myself, and never have I ever encountered professionalism like the one she shows to guests. I've even seen other people complaining about her attitude to managers and she still there, so I don't get it. But avoid her at all costs. read more

My work planned a lunch for me as a "going away" gesture and as a vegan I figured I would just order a pizza without cheese or pasta with plain sauce and call it a day. The waiter told me that there was actually milk in the pizza dough (very uncommon in my experiences), so I asked if the pasta had eggs, which again...they did. Finally I asked if I could just get a plate of grilled vegetables and he said that they took that off the menu and couldn't serve that to me. Even though my colleague right next to me was eating fried calamari with a side grilled vegetables. I'm not sure where it came from, either the waiter or the kitchen, but overall no one was willing to work with me. At one point I said to our waiter, "I guess I won't eat" and all he said was "ok." So, I ended up eating nothing at my going away lunch while the rest of my coworkers ate their lunches. Can't really rate the food as I had none. Drank 1 beer, and I guess that was fine. read more

After going to Vaughn Mills me and my parents decided to give this place a try. The restaurant was surprisingly busy and we had to wait about 35 minutes. When we got our table I ordered arancini, gnoochi, penne Alla vodka and the Cotto pizza. It was all pretty good. This place is AMAZING. I have been living in Vaughan for 10 years and have not heard of this place until recently and I am kicking myself for it. I tried their vegetarian pizza and being a pizza lover, I can honestly say that it was the best pizza I have ever had in my entire life. Better than dominos and pizza hut. Great, authentic italian food! Great service, good variety. Noise level a bit loud, but overall great atmosphere.

All I can say is MMMMMMMMMM! I went for dinner with two others and we enjoyed all of the food. We had a salad to start (forgot which one) and the mussels. The broth the mussels were cooked in was to die for! We ordered two pizzas-vegetarian and spicy sausage, as well as the seafood pasta which our server told us was the best seller. Pizzas were delicious, and so was the pasta (a little aldente for my liking). Everything was great except for the loud hectic environment, a lot of kids running around, we could barely hear each other. We will be returning for lunch next time :) read more
