Noisy, crowded, mostly locals, sometimes no seating, good food, affordable, cash only, "1 holer" ladies room, love it

Went here again on Saturday before our final bar stop. Lots of locals and some party going on so it was a little loud. Craft beer on tap and regular beer/mixed drinks. I don't imagine many yelpers in this area if you don't live around there but it's the only place in the area. Service was prompt and just a good area place. My friends like to stop here when leaving the Madison scene and settling down close to home to finish off the night. This is cash only people.

Marcine's is absolutely refreshing from the usual chain bars/restaurants. One of my favorite spots in the area. Service has always been friendly. Lindsay is a hoot during Meat Raffles. Food prices are more than reasonable. With the pizzas (OMG the pizzas from Marcine's!!!) The pizza slices are layered with huge chunks of toppings. Not deep dish, not New York pizza, it's its own hybrid of some sort. I'd devour these everyday if I could. With the delicious pizzas, the $1 Monday Tacos, $0.25 Wednesday Wings, etc., how does this place make money?! I usually leave large tips because I'm stingy on spending money on alcohol. I assume that's where a majority of the profits are made. Even the old guys at the bar wonder and assume the same. If you're visiting the area, strolling through downtown Mount Horeb, hiking at Donald Park or just passing through, Marcine's is worth the visit.

An awesome Wisconsin bar! We usually stop here on our motorcycle cruises but this morning we stopped in for the $5 breakfast buffet! They charge per plate but it was delicious! Bloody's are strong and massive with great fixings! We love this place and will be back soon!

Small local bar with great pizza. Beer menu is very limited and other food is ok but the unique pizza and atmosphere is worth the trip.

We decided to try out The Dog House because it was nearby, and we were very pleasantly surprised! The Dog House has very nice outdoor seating in a deck/patio area. They have a good selection of beers, and the service was fast and friendly. But where they really shine is the food (which they prepare in a teeny, tiny little kitchen!). We had the Stuffed Super Tots, which are huge tater tots stuffed with cheese, bacon, and chives, and served with a creamy dipping sauce. They were very crispy and cheesy - will certainly have them again. We also shared a Monster Burger and a side of the Best Fries Ever. The fries were indeed excellent - fresh, hot, and crispy, everything you want in a French fry. The Monster Burger was huge (TWO half-pound patties, with cheese and bacon - plenty big enough for two people!), juicy and delicious. If you're craving comforting pub food in the Mount Horeb area, give The Dog House a try - it's a true hidden gem!

We didn't get immediate seating, but for a Saturday at lunch time that makes sense. They did get us in about 25 minutes later which I didn't think was too crazy. In total we were there for 90 minutes. We were seated upstairs, so we all got to take the elevator up. That was fun. We were kind of seated in a corner booth behind a wall, so I feel like maybe we were forgotten about a little bit by our server. I also think he was the only one working upstairs, so he might have been a bit overwhelmed. But he was very nice and took care of all of our requests. All of our food was decently good. Three of us got the bbq bacon style burger, one got a salad, the kids got the Mac bites, and one of us got the brisket sandwich. I was happy to see that one of the side options was carrots and celery, and they were big pieces of veggies for the sides. Would I come back here again? It's certainly not out of the question. This is my first time visiting this area so I'm sure there are other places to try as well.

And the interior is very neatly decorated with a modern rustic kind of feel. The bar is large with plenty of seating, along with tons of other tables available near the bar or further away. We were a pretty sizeable group, about 15 or so strong, so I am sure our unannounced entrance was a bit overwhelming upon their immediate opening. Nevertheless, the bartender immediately asked the group "How many bloody mary's am I making?" Everyone was served along with the regular customers coming in for late breakfast/early lunch. I think there were only 2-3 staff members working and they handled it like champs. They were so nice and got everything out to the customers. I only had the opportunity to drink here, and while I was sad to see no dark beer options, a Summer Shandy is always a good failsafe. While it is not super close to home, I am definitely planning to make it out here again soon to actually enjoy the food as well. Definitely worth checking out if you're anywhere nearby!

I had a token and needed lunch so after a quick scan on Yelp, we decided to check out Ott Haus. And I was not disappointed. The building is cute and kinda small. It definitely had an older feel, kinda dive bar-ish but it was clean. They have bar seating, a handful of tables, and a beer garden area. It gets a little crowded pretty quickly so you may make some new friends if you share a table. The service was great and the owner was super nice. She answered questions and was very accommodating. They have New Glarus beer on tap, duh. But also domestics, cocktails, and soft drinks. I had a strawberry rhubarb beer from New Glarus and absolutely loved it. I also had a PBR which is my stand by. Based on the reviews, we had to try the cheese curds. They come with a dill ranch. They weren't greasy at all. They were lightly breaded and fried perfectly. The ranch was a tasty accompaniment. Highly recommend and would order again. For my entree, I ordered the Beer Cheese Bacon Burger: 1/2 pound burger cooked medium with beer cheese and bacon on a pretzel bun. This was probably my favorite meal of my Wisconsin vacation. The burger patty was delicious and seasoned well. The pretzel bun held everything together and paired perfectly with the creamy beer cheese sauce. The bacon was an added bonus. I opted for tater tots for a side and enjoyed dipping them in that extra beer cheese. This was seriously one of the best burgers I've eaten in a looooong time. It's probably good that I live 500 miles away because my waist line and wallet would take a beating. I highly recommend stopping in and grabbing a drink and food. I will be back the next time I'm in town.
