His work is v good but his prices are in the Michael and Son and others that spend millions on advertising. His prices just got too high and ridiculous. Overall a good experience replacing our HVAC. We had a few issues post installation, but Marco stood by his company's work and fixed them. If they need to punch a hole in your foundation wall for the coolant lines, ask them in advance to use a drill with a masonry core bit, and not a hammer and cold chisel, particularly if going through cinder block. read more

I told him that he should have his range changed on yelp to not include my address area, ya know so this doesn't happen and waste our time. Marco & Sons is the real deal. I initially reached out to get an estimate for replacing my entire central AC system after my condenser unit stopped working--again. Another company had already been out, replaced the contactor, and recommended several expensive fixes. When the unit died a second time, I tried to handle some of the repairs myself (DIY-style), but still no luck. Marco is a rare breed - honesty is the name of the game with him. Yesterday I had trouble with my furnace leaking a gas scent; within a week Marco diagnosed the issue to a simple fan speed adjustment, and tempered with the gas valve which fixed the problem. Other contractors would've immediately jumped to replacing the heat exchanger and/or valve. Worse fucking service call ever. Extremely unprofessional. Technician Richard forgets his tools several times and had to walk back and forth to his truck. He begins to get frustrated. Technician slams my AC unit and the power supply unit on the wall. Not able to drill screw into the unit, keep forcing and almost moved the condenser by force. Starts yelling at me (the customer) out of no where for asking if he can provide another strap to secure the cables. This is the third time I call these guy to fix HVAC issues. ac was not cooling and called up Marco based on the good review and proximity...he's able to send a great tech out next day and get the issue fixed. Update: the tech sold me an annual main't plan on site, and confirmed with me solidly that it does include boiler cleaning up and filter change after I questioned serval times. It's about half what others charge, so I bought it but not fully convinced, a bit too good to be true. I later send message on Yelp to Marco to confirm the scope...no response...not feeling right, I called 2 days later, and Marco told me the cleaning up is not in the annual plan, but a separate charge. O.K., that's fine, but the tech should not told me that and I asked specifically several times! Marco agreed to cancel my purchase and refund me. so I am still upheld the good rating and hope things get corrected. read more

Awesome communication, great service. I just had Marco complete a repair on my AC unit. I called on Sunday, we scheduled for Monday with a 3 hour window. Upon scheduling, I received a confirmation text message. Today, a half hour before hand I got the message that he was on the way. Marcos arrived as scheduled and got right to work. Man, diagnostic tools have changed a lot since I last had to have AC service. He had the right tools to diagnose the problem quickly and accurately. Pricing is very competitive. I was going to do a water boiler inspection but they told me it wasn't necessary, at this time. My AC Unit needed a part replaced so being very honest they have told me that the boiler doesn't red inspection at this time because it looks new, just to alienate the cost of the unforseen part replacement. Update: Work Complete Was able to get the preparations done and Marco came back out with his team. The move went pretty easy from what I can tell (although with the heat I'm sure it was a little harder on them. 'Feels like' temp is at 102 degrees at the time of this writing) The original quote included the cost of rewiring the power to the new location, however since Marco was able to reuse the existing wiring, he was able to pass on the savings to me. I reached out to Marco & Son AC & Heating Company based on reviews which noted that Marco was an expert in servicing Heat Pumps. My system is older and even though parts are no longer made for the unit, Marco researched and was able to locate and install universal parts which saved me from having to purchase a completely new HVAC unit. He changed out a bad defrost board, installed a new fan and A WiFi thermostat which I can regulate from my phone. This is very handy as I have a renter and I can confirm at any time and in any place when I travel, that the heating/cooling system is functioning well. Called them out for an estimate on replacement of gas water heater, gas furnace, and air conditioner. First the AC; they were honest and pointed out that it wouldn't be that much money to replace the evaporator coil on my 4 year old system because it was still under warranty, rather than trying to sell me a new system. Another HVAC company gave me a high price for the evap coil replacement in an attempt to push me towards a full system replacement. I appreciated their honesty. Now for the gas water heater, and the reason they still get a single star. They told me that for an in-place replacement where gas lines are not being moved, there is no need for a permit or an inspection. I've had a few estimates at this point and every other company mentioned needing permit/inspection, so I was skeptical and pressed them on this. They said if they would be adding more than a few feet of pipe they'd need it, but not for a replacement where the location of the water heater wasn't being moved. I called Fairfax County Building Permits number and posed the same question, and they immediately shot that info down. You need a permit for anything having to do with gas. Either Marco & Son wasn't aware of this which makes them incompetent as a contractor doing this kind of work, or they were lying to cut corners/costs. I'm not sure which is worse, but I absolutely wouldn't use them for any work on my home because of this. If there ever were some kind of accident involving the install and a permit/inspection were not done, homeowner's insurance could deny the claim. It's not something to skip out on for the liability reasons alone. read more
