Honest shop! I took my 2019 Jeep Renegade in for brakes and an oil change. I thought the brakes needed changing! Got a call from Remi, he said the brakes were fine, they didn't need changing! He had already changed my oil, and my car was ready! Most other shops would have taken advantage of the opportunity and changed the brakes, not Remi! I went in the other day because I was having a hard time passing emissions. I had a friend work on what we thought was wrong and my check engine light was still on. Remi did a smoke test and didn't give me any hell for not taking it to a shop to get work done, thank you Remi. My most recent visit today was because my engine light came on, I had the error code so I already knew what was wrong with it but let Marco tell me what they thought was wrong. While not the flashiest of auto shops, they certainly get the job down right, quick, and cheap. This is an honest, no frills shop that will usually have the best prices in the area. I've done brake service on my 2001 Celica here twice and both times everything worked out great. He quoted me at about half the price as the dealer where I do other work and even threw in an additional discount. Marco even dropped me off at work that morning for no charge. I still go to a Toyota dealer to diagnose problems and do more "model-specific" work, but when it comes to the traditional stuff (brakes, exhaust, tires, belts..etc), I will always go to Marco. read more

I have been going to this shop for the past two years now, and I have always been satisfied. I recently obtained a 2000 Ford Focus, and unfortunately the previous owner didn't take care of the car's mechanical needs at all. If I would have going to the dealer, I would have been charged an arm and a leg to fix all of the problems that my car has endured. Before I came to Marco's I would absolutely dread having to get anything fixed on my cars - I would either overpay at the dealer or compare numerous shops and not know who to trust. I finally have found a place I can trust and have peace of mind. I've been going to Marco's for the past year with 3 cars (Toyota Land Cruiser, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Honda CR-V). What I like the most about the shop: 1) Turnaround: whatever the issue has been they have been able to get my car in the same day and diagnose the problem. If my car had to be kept for the following day, I've driven by after-hours and noticed my car was kept inside the garage bay which gives me peace of mind the car is safe and a priority. 2) Communication: Remi and Marco are easy to get a hold of and are quick to call as soon as they have a quote or have diagnosed the problem. Remi is great at explaining the mechanics of the car and my options. I love that they give me options. Most shops I've dealt with make me feel I don't have much of a choice. One time, after they completed work on my car I psyched myself out and heard a noise that wasn't there before. Remi took the car in the same day and drove it around and then looked around finding everything was okay. He then dropped off the car at my house and walked back to shop! 3) Warranty: I had a leak in my valve cover gaskets on my Land Cruiser. They replaced them. A leak showed up a couple weeks later in the same spot and they validated the warranty and replaced the parts with no dispute and no charge the moment I brought the car in. 4) Trust: I feel I'm getting a fair price from them. So far I haven't had any surprises with costs. On a couple of occasions they've even found smaller issues unrelated to why I brought the car in and fixed them at no cost! They've helped me get my Land Cruiser ready for a trip to Utah and back. I strongly recommend this shop. read more

This Place is a rip off! I have used them in the past at their lake in the hills location! They have fixed a exhaust system on my vehicle and within 6 months I had the same exact problem, except now it is worse and need to replace the entire exhaust system on my vehicle. I went to bring it back to the location only to find out that the business has been sold and none of my info was in the system due to previous owner which is Marco deleted all info. So, when I contact the Melrose park location, they refused to take any responsibility for their work. Just want to let everyone know this place is a disgrace to mechanics. Make sure if you have problems pay by credit so it can be disputed. Read reviews for Lake in the hills location. All horrible and people taking him to court. read more

I been using them for little bit over a year for regular oil changes and they did my breaks, but recently I had a engine light on so of course I took it to them because I feel like I trusted their work. So I payed $99 for smoke test, and Remi told me the issue. I came back 2 days later fixed the problem and I was on my merry way. 3days later I get my engine light back on, so I call the shop they tell me bring it back it's probably the part defected. They replace it, but 3 days later the engine light came back on. So this time they said go to your dealer because we don't know what the issue is. Remind you they did smoke test that I payed for and replace the part that they determined during smoke test that it's broken. So I take my car to my car dealer bit pissed off because they said they will do another smoke test if they have too. So after now spending at Kia dealer $140 they said that is my evap canister is cracked. They also said that the part that was replaced looks original part from KIA and it looks used. Just to go back to my story they did the work on my car on 01-17-2020 and I went to my dealer in February so it's been only over a month. Also Remi told me that canister is NOT cracked, but when my dealer did smoke test big ass cracked was there. They physically showed me the crack. I was in disbelief because I was told by Remy there is no crack in the evap canister. So I call the shop tell this to him and he asks me so what are they going to charge you I told him $750 so he turns around and tell me 2 hrs labor part $450 lol really so I tell him "I already spend $300 with additional $140 at the dealer and now you want to charge me $450 lol I laughed. When you missed diagnosed my car? His response well our smoke test did not show that there is a crack in the canister. I end up getting 2nd opinion and he did a smoke test and found same issue that my dealer found, and also said that part that Remy replaced it's my original part from KIA. So I end up calling Remy and he refunded my smoke test, but I also believe that he never replaced the part or he did and when I went back second time for him to get it replaced he put back my original part. He should be refunding me for the part and the labor that he charged me over one hour for when it took about 10 min to replace in the 1st place. Only reason why I give 2 starts because they are nice but after this experience I will never go back to them ever again they lost my trust. The person that fixed my car is a certified master auto technician, explained everything in detail showed me the leak and the canister before he replaced it. read more

My bf came here today to see if they can do his breaks..we already had somebody look at the car and told us we needed new break pads for the front wheel..nevertheless we took it to Marco and he told us over 800 dollars telling us we need all new breaks for all four wheels and calibers. My brother referred me to this place on an emergency "had-to-be done-right away-situation" since I was going on an out-of-town trip and needed fast and honest service as well as a "ready-for-the-road" all-around check of the car. This was my first time using Marcos and I have to say my brother was right on his suggestion to use this place. I needed a front driver side hub bearing which was making all my noise in the front that Marcos found bad on my car and fixed it perfectly. I first went to a place that starts with the letter "M" and ends with a "S" before talking to my brother and they said I needed brakes,rotors, and a caliper plus both axles which they said over 2,000 dollars for the parts and labor. I immediately said "SEE YA LATER" and took my brother's advice and went to Marcos. They got me the best quality hub bearing part and the labor charge was like 1/10th the cost of the "M" place. They checked my tires, brakes, plus the axles and even brought me in the shop to disprove the "other" place's recommendation that those parts were safe and sound with a big thumbs up to take my road trip. Further thru my trip, there was nothing and I mean nothing but smooth driving with "no more noise" which gave me the calm feeling that I was treated fairly and honestly by Remi the manager at Marcos and his Dad Marco gave me a good'ol handshake when he thanked me for coming to his shop by my brother's advice. He told me my brother has been coming to them for over 7 years and he makes them do everything to his car that he needs done and is a obviously a loyal repeat customer for life. Not a good place to go when you experiencing a problem from their supposed repairs. They corrected my initial problem which was power steering leak but left me with other problems and tried blaming everything under the sun for their occurrence. So now supposedly I have a bent wheel or bad tire. C'mon man get real! I knew what my issues where before hand I'm the only driver of this vehicle for the past 20,000 miles. I explained I had a power steering growl in morning when engine was cold and it needed fluid. He said no fluid is full I said I drove 2 hrs the fluid is barely full and needs to have more added. I was told I dried out power steering pump and needed a new one. Man really!! The pump was never ran dry and as soon as I and the van cool down I'll send you a damn picture. Lastly when a customer comes in and complains about your repairs no matter what time it is you should handle it like a dignified business man and not say I can't check out your vehicle we close in 15minutes!! My extended family has been going to Marco for many years and my parents started going there about a year ago after my aunt convinced them to go to Marco. Now it was my time to go in for service and i must say these guys are very honest. I went in knowing that i needed front sway bar links and got a great price so went ahead and approved the job. When the tech test drove the vehicle after finishing replacing the links he pulled the car back in and put it on the rack. Now I'm freaking out thinking oh no what's wrong. Remy in the front told me that the noise i had was still there and i needed a sway bar bracket bushing. Then he told me not to worry about it and had his tech replace it for me. He didn't charge me anything extra for this bushing and apologized for missing it. I had my vehicle checked out at the dealer and they told me it was just the links too. I am so appreciative to them for doing this for me. Gave them $20 for lunch and left. Noise is gone and car is fixed!
