Loyal customer for years. Stopped there today and was asked to come back in 25 minutes by the owner so the guys could have lunch. Cool. Totally get that. Did so and then upon my return, was met rudely by one of the workers and told to come back again in 25 minutes. When I told him that the owner already said this to me and the time had past, this he shrugged his shoulder and said, "so? Just come back." Forget it. SCAMMERS! I had brought my car here before for oil change and tire rotation. After a couple of hours of driving I started hearing noise like something's loose. So I decided to bring my car back but the next day because they were already close the time that I was able to bring my car there. So I talked to their boss (he's the one handing you the receipt) and told him what was happening. He drove my car around the block to find out what was going on. He told me that it was the rotor and it needs to be replace. I asked how much and he said around $700. Good thing I have a friend who's also a mechanic. So I called him that same day. I brought my car to him and he only charged me $20. He said that it wasn't the rotor that was loose. It was the brake pads. My experience from this shop was horrible. That was the last time I took my car there. I decided to do some studying so I could just service my own car. read more

STAY AWAY! My wife went there to get her rear brakes done. As soon as they replaced the brake pads the van started grinding. It never grinded before. We took the van back to them to tell them about the problem, they claimed it was because we also needed to replace the front brakes. I went to the dealer to get a 2nd opinion, the dealer said they used very cheap ceramic pads. The pads were eating up the rotors and now we have to replace the rotors as well. The dealer also showed me that they never cut the rotors when they replaced the brake pads. This is Brake Job 101. At the end, we had to get the brand new brake pads replaced again and we had to replace the rotors because the cheap pads ate up the rotors. What should've been a $300 job cost us $800 at the end! On top of that they wanted us to have them replace the front pads which were perfectly fine. Went here on a Saturday morning and all the bays were full but I was next in line. I watched them work for a little bit out of boredom and curiosity. Every single person in the garage was focused and worked efficiently. No horseplay or meandering. I was in and out in about 30 minutes, with the bulk of that due to the car before me, mine barely took 10 minutes. 2. They weren't pushy or shady. So many places trying to get you to buy the higher priced oil or recommending the air filter change to every single person. He walked over to the owner of the car in front of me and actually said he didn't need to change it right now. To be honest, when you first come here, these guys seem like trusting and honest men. After a few times, you realize they're not and just want your money. They try to find any little thing to charge you for and try suckering you into buying it. They said they could fix a pipe at the bottom of my car that was leaking no problem, $200. A few days later, same problem was occurring and I took it to a different mechanic. The mechanic took me under the car and showed me the lousy and terrible work these guys did. He fixed their mess up for $40 and told me to never go back to that place. My friends have had similar experiences at this place as well. Be careful when going here. read more

got an oil change this past weekend. because of the great weather as of late, it seemed everyone was in the mood for an oil change? i went to about three shops prior to northwest and im glad i did. i searched on my phone for nearby oil change shops and this came up. came in, no line, and the waiting area is pretty cool with no walls in between the shop so you actually get to see firsthand what they are doing. overall, they were very professional and it made me feel comfortable to see what was being done on my car. not too mention, they are way cheaper than your local jiffy lubes. im coming back for sure. read more

I asked if they could put air in my tires and asked if they could help me out as the five dollars they changed me would put my account in the negative. They changed me anyway. It took only 5 minutes to change engine oil at the time. I liked it, but I asked them if they changed the oil filter or not and they said they changed it. So, I trusted in their word and just in case I checked it out next day. I found it out that they put the wrong type of oil filter, very cheap one and tiny oil filter, not for the suv 6 cylinder. I just came back from an oil change and I was in and out in 12 minutes which included, vacuuming my car, washing my windows, checking tires and performing an oil change. I was low on antifreeze so topped it off and the whole visit cost me $46.00. This is well worth it and they are extremely professional. My son took his new 2017 Honda in to Northwest Lube for a oil change on October 27th, 2017. A few days later he notice that something was dragging on the bottom of his engine and that he could not drive his car. We had his car towed to the Honda dealership in Elmhurst where he bought the car thinking it was a manufacture defect and it would be covered by the warranty. As it turned out the tech who preformed the oil change at Northwest Lube didn't put the heat plate back together the right way thus causing the damage to his car. We had the dealership fix the problem at a cost of $199.00, We went back to Northwest Lube and spoke with the manager about a reimbursement for $199.00 and was told he had to talk with his boss and someone would call him. Later that day he received a call from Northwest Lube and was told there was nothing they could do for him because he didn't bring the car to them to be fixed. Had we been aware it was there fault in the first place we would have done that. But the good news is that hey offered him a free oil change. It used to be that a reputable business would stand by there work, In this case Northwest lube has decided not to.
