New to the neighborhood and have always passed by this place many times. Finally decided to give it a go yesterday as I was craving a gyros. I had read the reviews of the gyros on here and they lived up to the hype and more. Meat was perfectly seasoned , pita had a nice flavor, a huge basket of fries to go along with it. Staff was super friendly and helpful and the food came out very quick. Wife had a hot dog meal and she loved it as well. Would recommend if your having a craving for gyros/Italian beef/ hot dog. Really disappointed by this restaurant :( I've dined in or carried out dinner on a number of occasions but had a very suspicious delivery incident. Marco's is about 10 blocks from my home. I called to place an order for delivery and upon giving my address was told they don't deliver that far. I found that odd...you don't delivery 10 blocks away if I wasn't feeling lazy I could walk there. What's the point of having a delivery service if it only includes a 5 block radius? He said I know it sucks. Ok fine. But I couldn't let it go. I had my uncle call about 5 mins later. He asked how far south do you deliver. The guy told him, "we deliver as far as Irving Park, Cicero, North Ave..." my uncle perked up "North Ave?" the guy said, "OH no I mean we don't go past the viaduct." Loved this place, til they decided to call me and say they never received my payment for my credit card order which I placed over the phone which didn't make sense because I had to give my credit card number over the phone so I could get my order not to mention they then forgot to deliver my food so it arrived a hour & half later & at that it was very cold then they have the nerve to call me hours later and say they didn't charge me LOL as far as I was concerned that wasn't my problem at that point but the nice person I am I decided to give my card number since I've been ordering from here for so long now ofcourse as I predicted I was charged twice LOL super inconvenient and definitely lost a long time customer. read more

Horrible business practice, darn shame... so I ordered a 12 piece wing dinner, and was never told they do not have a 12 piece wing dinner. So when I picked up my order and paid I asked why I was getting charged $19.40. I was told their prices when up, so I said ok, please update your menu price as a suggestion. So I get a bag thinking im getting a 20 piece meal since on the menu I was charged for a 20 piece meal... boy did I get suckered.. got home and opened my order and got 13 wings... no fries, no sides. Again mind you the young lady at the counter did not advise me about the update menu at all. I called to ask why I was charged $19.76 and did not get the 20 piece. I was told because I asked for a 12 piece.. so then I asked does it make sense that you charged me $20 Meal price and I get 13 pieces... a little quiet... and then I get a response.. that I declined the sides. Which I was never told about and then to top it off... insult to injury.. i got a $1.60 discount because I did not get fries.. so at that point I just forget it, if you can't see the issue, I said thank you and you lost a customer. Overall, I've always enjoyed popping in here from time to time for my pizza slice or hot dog & fries fix (I heart their crinkle cut fries). But today. Today made me jump on here to give a shot out to Josh (I hope I got his name right). He noticed I left after asking if there were any more pizza slices other than the single cheese slice in the case. If you've been in the Belmont-Cragin area you already know there's not too many interesting choices for food around here. Marco's is my family's go to spot! My mom has been a fan since she was younger, and Marco's apparently was at another location. You see the thing with Marcos is they have SAZON! We had some really good Italian Beef sandwiches on a recent visit to see my best buddy and fellow Yelper, Jean C. The delivery arrived in good time and all was as ordered. The beef sandwiches were tasty and the meat was tender and lean. Mine was loaded with sweet and hot peppers, both of which were very flavorful without overpowering the sandwich. I have to say I've been jonesing for good Italian beef, and frankly, I hadn't found a place who would deliver to us that had the quality I want in my beef sandwiches. So I put it to my fellow Yelpers and the name Marco's came up. Okay, sez I, I will take that chance. I'm glad I did because what I got was a superior beef sandwich. It was everything a good Italian beef sandwich should be, IMO. Thin, tender, flavorful, moist, generous, seated on good, crispy bread and loaded with sweet and hot peppers. We ordered them dipped and they arrived with just the right amount of gravy so that the bread held together down to the last few bites, but was tasty all the way down to the end. Damn these people are good! They know their beef. Along with the beef we got a large order of fries. I'm not nuts about crinkle cut, but these were good. They were properly fried so they were powdery on the inside, and (reasonably) crisp on the outside. There was just enough food to satisfy without leaving either a lot of leftovers or a pair of people moaning about having eaten too much. Not bad for $10 each, delivered, and delivered in good time by a very nice man. Why not 5 stars? Well unless I'm bowled over I don't tend to do 5 stars on first acquaintance. And also... their Fizzy Brown choices were RC (ugh) or Diet Rite (better but definitely not my first choice for diet Fizzy Brown. If, after a few more meals I'm impressed enough with the food consistently, I may overcome my aversion to RC and award that fifth star. Time will tell. Until then, if you want really good beef delivered to the Portage Park area, Marco's is the place to call. They're polite and professional, and they serve terrific food. read more

Ordered a beef and two double bacon burgers. All I can say is, stay away from the burgers. They were terrible. The patties were not of good quality and I question if they were pre-made and just reheated after ordering or severely overcooked. I'm still in shock a week later thinking of those burgers.... The beefs and combos are great and they offer a variety of dinners. The staff are friendly and it's funny how they interact with each other.
