Now add the fact that everyone seems proud of what they are doing and the owners believes in absolute satisfaction, this is the kind of regular stop I'd consider a great night with family. The pizza is not overall large, I think about 6-7 slices. We shared since we were trying a lot of things. The crust was also really crispy, and not overly charred as sometimes coal fire pizzas can get. I'm always very detailed with instructions and clearly noted how to reach my door, where to leave it, and to knock. Those notes were printed on the receipt, so I know the driver received them. The order had apparently been left on the ground in front of our screened porch without any knock or notification. Because of that, the food was cold by the time we got it. I had to reheat everything in the oven, which already took away from what was supposed to be a nice surprise dinner. Then came the bigger disappointment: the pizza itself. The deep dish did not live up to expectations at all. The crust was hard and almost tasted stale. Both pizzas needed a lot of "doctoring up" just to be reasonably okay. I called the number on the receipt afterward, and the only resolution offered was that they'd make sure I didn't get the same driver next time.
