Our family had a really good time and meal for our first visit. Our service was really good. Inside was pretty busy, but we got seated immediately (I had made a reservation). Our server, Erick, greeted us a couple of minutes later, and was attentive during our time there, with explanations of the drinks and meals. Although they don't have as extensive of a menu that other local German restaurants have, they do have the standards and my impression is that they are going for a higher quality experience instead of food hall. For example, they also offer steaks that appear to be a much higher quality (and price point). There is a decent selection of German beers, loads of wine, and a full bar. The mushroom risotto was very good, the heirloom tomato salad was a little on the bland side. My mom in law claimed it was one of the best pork schnitzels she has had. They are relatively young (10 months), and working on fully opening, so one of the rooms and bathrooms were blocked off, but I was told that part would be opened soon. read more

Environment is very nice. Service was good. Food ok. Tartare for me was good, creamy yolk on top was great. Burger had a nice combination, but it was salty. Pork tenderloin was bland, sauce was ok. Was in for dinner on 12/4 and was excited to try some of the items. We decided to share the mushroom risotto and the new beef burger. The risotto was delicious and more mushroom than rice - which is totally what I prefer. Lots of great flavors! The burger was absolutely amazing. The candied bacon and the mustard seeds were perfectly layered for flavor in every bit. I am already thinking about my next trip in for that burger. It's a little hidden gem. When we arrived around 5:30, it was fairly quiet, but by the time we left, the place was filling up. Our waiter, Erik, was fantastic. He was funny, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the chicken schnitzel, short rib, and sausage, and every dish was delicious. The food came out quickly, our drinks were never empty, and the service was excellent from start to finish. We also took the Black Forest cake and cheesecake to go. My wife and I were happy to see a German restaurant show up for Magical Dining. We we were not disappointed. The appatizers were delicious ( I had the mussels which was big enough to be a main course- my wife had the meatballs, 3 very nice size in sauce) I then had the braised beef which I cut with my fork. my wife upgraded to the veal and it was enough for 2 people. we brought cheesecake and strudel home as we were to full to eat it there. our waitress was attentive and friendly. Chef Gabor promises a fresh take on Alpine comfort food. His new venture includes menu items from Gabor's previous restaurant, Schmankerl Stub'n German Scratch Kitchen along with the new dishes that represent his Bavarian upbringing. Presently they are in a soft opening as the menu and some of the decor takes shape in their new space. This location on McGuire previously housed Rusteak Ocoee and most recently Bella Tuscany. I drove by and saw all the cars so I made a U turn and made plans for dinner. They were busy and the parking lot was full on a weeknight. They were in a soft opening as the restaurant opened mid July 2025. I had a short wait and then I was seated. My server was attentive and I experienced excellent service and did not feel rushed. I had the pork loin with mushroom and cream gravy which came with a choice of side and I chose the butter spaetzle. My comfort food was very tender with a rich flavorful gravy. So good and unfortunately taking a photo was an afterthought. The menu has an uncluttered layout of three columns which has an appealing design. The entree name in the first column followed by the accompaniments and sauces. The last column is the price. Appetizer and salads are $10-$20. Entrees including pasta is $18-$45 and side items are $8. Good portions at a reasonable price. We were excited to try a new German inspired restaurant. It is in the soft opening phase and unbeknownst to us, reservations are recommended. We did not have any so we sat at the bar and Abby took very good care of us. She is amazing and a hard worker so she definitely deserves kudos. We started with the pretzels with cream cheese and, unfortunately, the onion was so overpowering, I was unable to enjoy it. The pretzels are soft and tasty and did well alone. That item is a one and done for us. For our entree, we shared the chicken schnitzel with fries. It was so tender and tasty and the fries were crispy on the outside but cooked to perfection. For dessert, we went with the cheesecake with blueberries. This was the star of the meal and truly incredible. The inside is still the same as it was before and apparently they still have work to do before the grand opening. All in all, it was enjoyable and we will return. read more

The food was incredible-- we had schnitzels, potato pancakes, pureed potato's, French onion soup, cucumber salad, red cabbage, and lots of delicious bread and of course, Black Forest cake ( too big for one!). One thing you absolutely must not miss is the mushroom pâté. What an incredible appetizer! This restaurant is a little pricey but -- you ABSOLUTELY get what you pay for! And Gabor's is worth it! I have seen them at some of the food events in Winter Park and Thorton Park. I really enjoyed what they had, so I had to visit them at their restaurant. I went on a Saturday evening. I was greeted immediately upon arrival and seated to the bar area that I requested. Food and drink menu were provided and I took the suggested tin drum (16 dollars) cocktail drink. It looked like an old fashioned, but tasted a bit more bitter. It was also decorated nicely. But best of all, it was very strong that I would have chanted tiki toki if they had a live polka band. For my entree, I tried the pork schnitzel (22 dollars) with cucumber salad as the side. The pork was pounded nicely, still being tender. The breading was just enough and fried just right. The lingonberry sauce provided the right amount of sweetness. The cucumber salad was a bit soggy, but still very enjoyable. The dill added was just right. It almost tasted like a pickle, but in a very good way. The portions were quite generous, but the food was light enough that I could finish the whole thing. For dessert, the cheesecake (12 dollars) was rich that I did take some of it home. I could tell it was homemade as it had the right amount of vanilla beans for the flavor. There were a lot of blueberries and sauce, but it still complimented nicely. I am glad I took some home so my mom could also enjoy, but I may finish it the next day if there are still some left. The service was excellent. My bartender was very friendly and provided me great suggestions. He explained the story about the restaurant and owner. He also talked to other guests as it was not busy at all. The dining area is only on the right side, and looks like the left area is not used yet. That wasn't a problem at all as there wasn't much of a crowd. It was pretty quiet that the soft DJ boots and pants (remember from the GEICO pig commercial?) like music were playing in the background. This restaurant is quite underrated, and deserves more recognition. I know most people go to the famous Hollerbachs in Sanford for great German food, but Alpine Bar and Grill still deserves a try as well. The food is really good and the cocktails are amazing. Liked the Alpine restaurant so much we went back just a week later. Crushed that they didn't have the fondue anymore. Steak tartare was solid. Mushroom parfait is not a parfait at all, but terrific app. Onion soup also very good. Loads of Parmesan cheese on Caesar salad. Almost comical amount. Wagyu burger was simple and flavorful. With just ground mustard and burger sauce, it was tasty. Would be better with a thinner patty and tomato, lettuce, onion, cheese. Mushroom risotto was fantastic. This was the worst tasting food I have ever had at any restaurant. We came here for lunch and their menu was very much a dinner menu so we ordered several different items off the menu to share. We ordered a pork schnitzel, cucumber salad, sauerkraut, red cabbage, and potato pancakes. Also had a Coke Zero. The schnitzel was edible but not great. Just tasted tasted "off". Reminded me of meat in a freezer that wasn't vacuum sealed properly. The cucumber salad was so bitter! The cucumbers were also mushy. Sauerkraut was so salty and sour. I know that sounds weird to complain about sauerkraut being sour but I was born and raised in Germany and sauerkraut needs to be balanced. This was not. The red cabbage was extremely sweet and fruity. I guess they add lingenberries to it. Also tasted cinnamon rather than cloves in the red cabbage. The potato pancakes tasted like they had freezer burn. They tasted stale and were just horrible! Also took 15+ mins to bring the sour cream and applesauce for the pancakes but once we had that, it all was cold by then and it wouldn't have helped the taste anyway. Lastly, even the coke wasn't good. Way too watery and not enough flavor but I guess that aligns with the quality and taste of the food. Provided feedback to the server who then grabbed the manager. Server was very apologetic but management was more defensive. We didn't ask for a manager and we didn't want anything for free or a discount and just wanted to provide feedback as this appears to be a new restaurant and with food like this, doesn't appear they will be around long if they don't make a change. read more

Wanted to try out the new German style restaurant in Ocoee on the corner of Maguire Road and old Winter Garden Road. Staff was super friendly when you first come in but seating is limited on the right side of the restaurant only. So the service was pretty quick for a Friday night. We ordered the pretzel sticks as our appetizer with the pretzel being fluffy and crispy on the outside though the cheese spread that was given to us was fresh out of the refrigerator and too hard to spread on our pretzel sticks. But the flavor was good. My husband ordered the veal schnitzel while I went with the standard pork schnitzel and both were impressed on how perfectly cooked they were with a light breading on top. They're both served with Lingonberry sauce on the side with side item of your choice. My husband went with the standard french fries that were nicely crispy, fresh, thick like steak fries. I went with buttered spatzle that was, plain overall. I did ask for the upgraded Jager sauce with my pork schnitzel, but was not impressed to spend $10 for the upgraded Jager sauce. Drinks wise I ordered the black forest colada which was light and refreshing, but definitely had a sense of drinking potpourri and my husband did like that. They had his favorite whiskey at the bar that he ordered neat. Daniel Gabor's is a hidden gem! Our meal was easily in our Top 10 EVER. The fresh baked bread, the amazing Caesar Salad with lots of shredded cheese and utterly delicious croutons were truly a pleasant surprise. Our entree of Pork Schnitzel with Roasted Potatoes was prepared perfectly and the flavors were robust and most definitely left us satisfied. The desserts included the Cheesecake, Strudel and House made Ice Creams and all I can say is "Try Them All". Really enjoyed the food here!! The onion soup was very flavorful. My friend's tomato soup was not something I'd enjoy, had a bit of spice to it. The pretzel appetizer was decent - I liked the cheese but it probably wouldn't be something I'd order again. For entrees, I had the chicken schnitzel and the portion was huge! I also really liked it with the side of mushroom sauce. My friend had the pork schnitzel and also really enjoyed it. Each entree comes with 1 side of your choice, which are the same portions of you order individually. This was great because we were a group of 3 and each ordered a side to share. I think my favorite was the red cabbage. The spätzle was decent, but I have had better. The creamed spinach was also pretty good. For dessert we had the mascarpone cheesecake with blueberry topping which was really delicious! Highly recommend it. My partner tried a few drinks, I unfortunately don't remember the names but one was basically an espresso martini which was pretty good (we were told their brunch one is amazing), a drink similar to a pina colada, and then a fruiter drink. Relatively new restaurant in the area. This place basically serves German Style food. Entrees are limited to 3 types of schnitzel; veal, pork, and chicken. Also offer a pork dinner. My wife had the pork schnitzel and I had the veal. Both were very good, tender with a tasty breading. I had the potato pancakes, which were the size of an 8" pancake. Their taste was nowhere near tasting like potatoes. Actually they tasted like dirt. My wife had the spatzle which see enjoyed. Extra surprise was the Wednesday special of raw oysters for $1.50 per. Serving was Virginia Blue Point oysters. Ambience is better than average. They moved into another restaurant location that relocated about a year ago. We came for an early dinner during the week for the first time and we will definitely be back. While they are still undergoing reservations, we ate in the bar area and sat at a large booth that had plenty of room for our group. The service was wonderful where our server and the bar manager checked on us multiple times. All of the food we got was amazing which included the bread, tomato salad, goulash, schnitzel, black Forest cake, and cheesecake. Everyone loved their meal, including our pickiest eater, and the portions are huge which let us bring home plenty of leftovers. The food is all traditional German from the part of Germany the owner has ties to. Happy hour is only at the bar unfortunately but the drinks are picturesque and very strong. The highlights of the meal included the bread service which was super soft, the pork schnitzel which came with a yummy berry sauce, and the cheesecake which is honestly one of the best I ever had! We were a group of older women. I ordered a single dirty martini and was served a regular martini with a lemon wedge. I asked if they could fix it and when it was returned to me it tasted of lemon and olive juice. When the bill came they charged me for a double, but did adjust thecharge when I complained. Maybe we caught this place on an off day as it was a Sunday right after their brunch service ended. Our waitress was pleasant and very friendly, and with only 1 other tables occupied (excluding the 2-4 people sitting at the bar), service was attentive. The restaurant ambiance/theme felt a bit uncertain, as if it was still... finding its identity. Our appetizers and entrées arrived awkwardly warm for an empty restaurant. The Irish twist on the French onion soup was an interesting take on the classic, especially given the menu's German influence. The soup was decent overall, though it lacked some flavor depth, and the bread was a bit inconsistent in texture. Unfortunately, my main entree, sausage with a side of potato pancakes didn't work for me. They were probably the worst potato pancakes I've ever had. The sausage was one I'd expect to find at a chain diner and, after one bite of the potato pancakes and two bites of the sausage, I decided not to continue the meal. When we quickly requested the check, we were not asked if there had been any issue with the food, even after we politely declined to-go containers. This may have simply been an oversight on the waitress, or it could suggest that situations like this are not uncommon. As with any restaurant, feel free to judge this place for yourself. Stopped with my daughter as we finally had a night we could do it together. She had eaten had another location they were at and said it was OK so decided to try this one. The place is very comfortable roomie and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The owner even stopped by the table and spent some time talking to us. The drinks were amazing as was the food. The mushroom risotto was very tasty and full of mushrooms, which is our cup of tea. But the story of the show was the burger. It was amazing so tasty and delicious. Can't wait to go back and have another one. The prices were maybe slightly on the high side, but the quality of food was definitely worth it. Service was great. Restaurant was very comfortable for seating. As for the food, I ordered the veal schnitzel with a side of potato pancakes. The schnitzel was two nice size pieces of veal. The meat was tender. There was a little too much breading on the veal but overall it was good. The potato pancakes were nothing more than shredded potatoes with some scallions, not much different than hash browns at Waffle House. I was really looking forward to having some great potato pancakes and couldn't eat them. Message to the chef: Please look up a better recipe. My wife and I met some friends at Daniel Gabor's Alpine Bar & Grill last Saturday, and it was fantastic from start to finish. We all started with the French onion soup, and every single person at the table agreed -- it was amazing. Rich, flavorful, and a perfect way to kick off the meal. For my main course, I had the veal schnitzel, and it was cooked perfectly -- tender, juicy, and lightly breaded just right. It comes with lingonberry sauce on the side, which adds a great balance of sweetness. I chose the buttered spätzle with Jäger mushroom sauce as my side, and it was absolutely delicious. For dessert, we split the blueberry mascarpone cheesecake and the apple strudel with Kelly's Ice Cream. Both were excellent and the perfect ending to a great meal. They have a full liquor bar and German beers on tap, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. This is definitely a place we'll be going back to.
