Coming from Grosse Pointe, it was a little bit of a hike, but let me tell you: it was completely worth it! The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated and we were greeted promptly by a wonderful waitress. We ordered a large Chicago style with just cheese, and it did not disappoint! The pizza was cooked perfectly and oozing with cheese. The sauce and crust? PERFECT! In fact, the crust was probably one of the best I've ever tasted! And not soggy! This pizza was not only delicious, but it was lighter than other Chicago style pies I've had in the past. After eating multiple pieces, my wife and I did not feel overly full. It all starts with the owner. I love when I'm in a restaurant and the owner takes pride in the details that make their products stand out and is excited to share them with you. That's what happened here. Some of those details include 1) Canadian style pepperoni. Far lower fat content that typical pepperoni and shredded. This was great. Frankly I'm not sure i ever want regular pepperoni again. They were incredibly flavorful and not at all greasy. A big win 2) Portion size, here every size is approximately 2" bigger that comparable size at other restaurants 3) The ovens, no heated conveyor belt here. this is a legit stone oven, high temp pizza oven that bakes a great pie. I couldn't wait to get home to try the pizza. At the first bite I was in love. The crust had a nice crispy bottom while maintaining a soft, pillowy, chewy taste on top. The sauce was silky smooth and had a little spiciness to it. All the meats were incredibly tasty as well. The shredded pepperoni was the standout though. I also really appreciate the fact that they offered flavored crust. I got garlic butter and it was like having bonus a breadstick with each slice. My wife got a Margherita pizza and loved hers as well. To top it all off, the breadsticks were fantastic too.
