We love Marcos, but this location is super slow and SUPER dirty. Owners should really take notice and get it cleaned up at minimum

She chose to explore the Monroe area of North Carolina. It was my treat to her and she researched, chose the location and booked the hotel. She also researched places to go and great food to eat. She really is amazing. One of the places she picked for us to grab some food was The Exchange Pizza Depot. She knows I love pizza and she loves to treat me as well. She read great reviews and based on the pictures posted on Yelp, she knew the dough, which is her favorite part looked incredibly tasty. The goal was to arrive when they opened on Saturday morning at 11:30am. We got up and ready, grabbed a coffee and did a few things before arriving a bit after they opened. We were able to find street parking easily and headed in. A young man came up from what appears to be the kitchen and/or prep area. We had already looked over the menu and knew what we wanted. All pizzas are 12 inches and priced at $14.99, which we thought was very reasonable. She chose the Roasted Chicken pizza with chunks of chicken, roasted bell pepper, garlic, sliced red onion, and premium shredded mozzarella with a delicious nut free pesto. She also ordered a side salad with balsamic vinaigrette. I decided to stay very traditional with Jordan's Jamboree featuring classic pepperoni and sausage with red sauce and premium shredded mozzarella, I ordered mine with extra sauce. The young man was friendly and efficient and told us our order would be ready in about 20 to 25 minutes. We knew from other reviews they do not have a dining area but customers are welcome to take their orders to the Courthouse beer bar next door. We decided to walk around the block and discovered the Courthouse was closed. We continued to the next business on the street which was the Peddlers Paradise Bartique and stepped inside. The bar area was not yet busy (they were prepping for a neighborhood pub crawl which began at 2pm). We asked the young lady working if it was possible to bring our lunch over. She was very friendly and did not hesitate to offer us one of the high top tables. We were grateful since it was already quite hot and humid. This also gave us some time to shop inside Peddlers Paradise. We ended up picking up a few items we couldn't live without. We checked on our order at the 20 minute mark and was told it needed 5 more minutes. We came back a few minutes later and everything was ready and packaged up. They have utensils and packets of both parmesan cheese and red pepper to grab on your way out. We got settled in the Peddlers Paradise and opened up both the pizza boxes and the container with the salad. Everything looked incredible!!! Needless to say we ooh'ed and awwww'ed as we each began eating our lunch. My wife does not eat pizza often and this was just what she was looking for on her special weekend. We highly recommend to others if you are near Monroe!

Really an amazing place in every way. Would take my partner, wife, parents and everyone here.

We arrived early for our RSVP @ 5:30 pm...and there were many tables and booths open (possibly up to 5 booths open, in fact!). Well, this girl behind the hostess stand didn't even bother to read the reservations details, and set us off to these high-top tables. I told the hostess that we requested a booth. She then took us back up front to that girl behind the stand...who then seemingly purposefully put us in their back porch area (?!?) with these big, rowdy groups and many children...right by the doorway, and not a booth either (but a half booth)! It was possibly the worst seating in the entire restaurant. After this second time, I went back up front again, and told the 2 hostesses that I saw many booths in the restaurant, and I didn't understand the difficulty-resistance!! Frankly, I was livid. Truly, that girl was just clueless, to say the least! Again, I can't believe that despite plenty of full booths available, she sent us out to their porch area, with this half-booth seating, RIGHT By THE DOORWAY. (I actually mentioned NOT by the doorway in my reservations details!) I truly thought she was deliberately sending us out there in retaliation. BTW, this girl didn't even give us any eye contact...and no proper greetings when we entered the restaurant either. We stood looking at her for a good minute before she even acknowledged us. Her incredibly rude hostessing nearly made us walk out. Absolutely terrible hostess service...the WORST! Once we were finally seated in a booth, we managed to calm down, and things started to take a positive turn. For one, our waitress (forgot her name) was great...cheerful and attentive all throughout. Also, I have to commend the house Manager, who must have noticed the re-seating. He stopped by to check on us and get all the details. I also noticed that this Manager was really on top of things...as he hustled around the restaurant the entire time we were there. I don't think he sat down even once! So it seemed the only incompetent staff member there was their Hostess (not the one that walked us to the table, but the one behind the stand)...definitely not the wait staff, or the Manager. I actually studied their menu beforehand...and loved what they had to offer. As we began to order, we also realized that they gave us the option to choose the type of pasta and the sauce as well. Kudos to that! We decided to share everything, and ordered: Mama's Crabcake, Combo Parmesian (Eggplant plus Chicken Parm, plus Pasta of choice...with a sauce of choice!), and this amazing special of the night, Short Rib Pasta. We ended our meal with their Gelato...and they threw in the Cannoli (as peace offering, I guess?). Well, truly we thought all the dishes, including the desserts, were delish. We even enjoyed their complimentary bread...so good! Portions were huge too...so we managed to doggy bag some leftovers. I also tried their Manhattan Martini...and it was stellar. Very strong...exactly what I needed! Despite the worst possible intro to this restaurant, we ended up thoroughly enjoying the meal...and as mentioned, the rest of the staff made up for the incompetence of one. For that, I'll only deduct a star. It's a shame...because I would have easily dropped 5 stars for the foods and the service by our waitress and the Manager. Maybe next time?

You can tell immediately that Antonio and his team takes pride in what they do, because every detail feels intentional. The service, "Haleda" definitely one of my all time favorites, was the kind you don't forget: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling forced. It set the tone for the entire night. And the food... unreal. Every dish was balanced, flavorful, and clearly crafted with skill. You know that moment when you take a bite and just stop talking for a second because your brain needs to process how good it is? That was me, repeatedly. This wasn't just a meal -- it was an experience. I recommend the Egg Plant Parmesan! The ambiance sealed the deal. Comfortable, stylish, and perfect for actually enjoying the people you're with. It's rare to find a place that nails both the vibe and the food, but this one does it effortlessly. Tonight officially raised the bar for what I consider a great restaurant. I'll be back, and I'll be recommending it to everyone I know! Thank you Antonio and Haleda for always an amazing experience and dinner!
