Moldy cheese served on Caesar salad
    Brian N.

This was one of my Favorite pizza places in Charlotte. You couldn't beat the price and the quality of food. The prices have soared in the last year. Going to $22 for a 14" pizza from 15 is insane. Don't get me wrong the pizza is still good. To top it off, we got moldy cheese on our salad. The waitress was nice enough to remove the salad from our bill, but you would have thought a manager would have come by to apologize. The friendly staff is the only reason Crust got 2 stars on this trip. Will definitely be rethinking where we go for pizza going forward.

Don't get me wrong. This is our favorite pizza in Charlotte but $22 for a 14in cheese pizza is insane. A year ago that same pizza was $15. A $7 increase in one year is ridiculous. Then you get popped for $2.50 a topping. Our bill tonight with tip was $70 for a family of three. A 14in 3 topping pizza, a small cheese pizza, side of creamy parm dressing, and 3 fountain drinks. That is crazy money for what you're actually getting. Normally I don't care about price when it comes to great food which is exactly what they have here but $22 for a 14in plain pizza is just diabolical. Won't do it anymore.

    A shit ton of pepperoni

This is the only encounter I have had to what is close to what I know to be a tavern style pizza. I am from Chicago and this is our pizza style (not deep dish). Situated next to the PGA Superstore in Ballyntine. A visit to the store to repair an unfortunately broken 3 metal, I had to check out the place. The staff greeted me warmly and I ordered up a pie, waiting at the bar with a cold brew. Out came the pie with pepperoni cupped and plentiful. What struck me first was the crust. I guess this is why it's in the name. The rest of the elements, sauce and cheese, totally worked together. This is their pie, which they call Midwestern or Ohio style. Alls I know is I won't use broken golf clubs as an excuse to drive 30 miles from Rock Hill (not know for great pizza joints or any type of food, for that matter, except maybe Garden Cafe in York) to get pizza from The Crust Pizza. It's really good. So good that I will be lobbying for a location to be established in Rock Hill or Fort Mill or someplace damn closer! SPECIAL NOTE: A lot of the local pizza places around these parts use cut up sausage links for their sausage (puke emoji). I would strongly encourage y'all to switch to blended pork sausage in bulk (heck, Publix makes a respectable Italian sausage). After all, pizza is an Italian thing. You want it greasy and you want to taste the fennel.

We ordered the 14-inch Pepperoni Pizza. The pizza was not very good. It reminded us of a frozen pizza that was very greasy. We also ordered the Caesar salad. The dressing is heavy on the garlic.

The crust does it again, every time I visit regardless of which location it's always fire! This visit once again did not disappoint, the service was on point as well as the pizza. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They were not busy during my visit, but I'm sure even in busier times they would do just the same. The pizza is fantastic, it's not your run of the mill chain pizza, it's more tavern style with better flavor and heavier toppings. Do yourself a favor and head over if pizza is your jam, it won't disappoint.

The pizza was decent, but the experience was kinda all over the place. Looked like they only had one cook on a Saturday night, and you could tell they were struggling to keep up. Service was just okay -- there were a bunch of servers around, but no one really seemed to be paying attention to their tables. It would've been nice if someone checked in or gave an update since the food was taking a while. Might give them another shot, but not sure yet.

Pepperoni Pizza: 3/5 - Nothing special. Cross cut into smaller pieces instead of traditional slices. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Definitely getting this again) 4 - Good (Would get it again) 3 - Ok (Might give it another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

I recently stopped by The Crust for a solo lunch. There is plenty of parking in the Promenade and dedicated spaces for takeout. There is a large bar with TVs, along with booth and table seating in the remainder of the restaurant. The bar predominantly has local beer from Sycamore, NODA, OMB, and Legion. They also have wine in the bottle and on tap. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The bartenders Rico and Acey were chatty and regularly checked in to see if everything was good. The bar also has purse/coat hooks and electrical plugs underneath the counter which will be a big plus during football season when people spend hours in a restaurant. They have pizza, subs, salads and dessert. Everything is moderately priced ranging from $10 to $20. They have off the menu pizzas which are similar to pizzas of the day. My bartender didn't know what they were when I asked, but quickly came back to let me know that there were 2: a BLT and a Spicy pizza that featured the hot honey sauce. But I stuck to my old faithfuls. I ordered: - House Salad: It was fresh and large. Definitely shareable. I substituted the vinaigrette for the creamy Parmesan dressing. The salad came out with fully dressed and a side of Parmesan dressing. They quickly remade it, but I was charged $0.50 for the dressing even though it replaced the vinaigrette. That would have been nice to know in advance. - Pizza: Pepperoni with basil is my favorite. So that's what I ordered with a side of red sauce. The side of marinara was ice cold. I'm still not sure if you need to ordered it heated, but it may be worth the extra detail to avoid having to send it back if you want it hot. This location of the Crust is new and it is obvious that they are still working out small kinks, but overall I had good food and service during my first visit. I enjoyed the music, comfortable seating, and the temperature was ambient. I am sure the few minor missteps are due to their newness. Whenever I had a concern, it was quickly rectified. I'll be coming back to try the hot honey drizzled on my pizza. Come on out and try this neighborhood pizza joint for yourself.

Not only are the pizzas absolutely massive, but they're also incredibly delicious. The crust deserves a special mention, A+ all the way. It has the perfect texture and flavor and is good enough to eat on its own. Every bite was fantastic, and the quality really stands out. If you're a pizza lover, this place is a must-visit. We stopped in here for a weeknight late bite when our options were somewhat limited. Thankfully at that hour, street parking in NoDa wasn't too bad, we got a spot just off the main drag. Slices here are GIGANTIC, one is easily about 3 standard slices of pizza, or two normal NY size slices. We got a pepperoni and a cheese. The pepperoni had nice kick to them and the cheese was a high quality. You had to let the pepperoni grease drain onto your plate a bit, but that is expected. The thing that makes both slices so good is the garlic butter bath all around the crust that you can see them doing in the kitchen. Not just that, but the texture in the crust will make even non-crust lovers think again. You're basically left with big doughy garlic butter breadsticks. Definitely a 5 on taste. My only complaint, and I'm sure it is partly by design to keep people from staying long, the stools you can sit on to enjoy your pizza inside the restaurant are THE WORST I have ever placed my derrier on. Even for 15 minutes, it wasn't just uncomfortable, it was painful. It took me a couple blocks to start walking correctly again. Might as well just get rid of them and have people stand to eat. Terrible. Almost knocked a star off for it, that bad. Regardless of the world's worst stools, I would come back for more pizza and just plan on not eating it there.

Real marble tables, nice little coffee shop vibes, the plain cheese pizza was the best I've had in charlotte so far, very good cheese flavor, slightly greasy but not in a gross way at all, in a rich delicious way which personally I like. I've never eaten pizza with a knife and fork before but for some reason it made the taste better lol. Idk why. Also the raspberry Creme cheese pastry was the best pastry Ive had in a while, very fresh. Prices were also reasonable especially for being in the center of the city, I liked it more than birds pizza, which is notably more expensive and insanely packed ever since Dave Portnoy gave it a good review

The waiter was efficient, not friendly but not unfriendly either, just doing his job pretty much. Would have been nice to have him check on us once or twice but again not the biggest deal. The pizza: my son really enjoyed it and gave it a 5/5 and hubby ranked it a 3/5. He thought the crust was a tad too soggy. Side Caesar: 3/5 had some pieces of the lettuce that should have never made it in the salad and the dressing was just okay. Morty: also a 3/5. Too much arugula, we took some out and then seasoned the rest with s&p and some crushed red pepper flakes. It just lacked a depth of flavor and the bread and arugula overpowered it. The seasoning helped a bit. I even added garlic aioli based on a review I read on here but I didn't taste it. The pasta salad it came with also lacked flavor, though very green and appearing loaded with flavor it was not. And when eating it, the texture was very gummy. Didn't finish that. Overall, it was okay but I'm not likely to return just because there are better options based on the things we tried. But taste is subjective and it just wasn't our vibe today. But check it out for yourself because we only tried three things and the pictures of the other pizzas do look amazing. That is all!

Their patio is so fun, the street you overlook is pretty chill so there weren't a lot of cars or noise. The area has good enough traffic for decent people watching, that's always fun. Our server was so funny and cool. I wish I could remember his name, but he was having a good convo with the person I was with about basketball and it was just really nice. It felt like I was home on my couch hanging with friends. It's such a cool chill place. I loved the pizza, olives app and the old fashioned. Review for Pizza Baby…read more After a relaxing Vinyasa yoga class and sound bath at The Coterie Wellness one evening, I found myself hungry--and conveniently, Pizza Baby had just opened in the same complex. Perfect timing. Since it was still new, the restaurant wasn't very busy, and I decided to grab a table outside. The outdoor seating was lovely--relaxed, comfortable, and a great way to unwind after a wellness session. I'm a sucker for thin-crust pizza, especially when it's hand-tossed and thoughtfully prepared, so one item immediately caught my eye: the rosemary pizza with hot honey. Sold. I added Italian sausage to the pizza and paired it with a fresh green salad (I can never resist a good Green Goddess dressing). Yes, it was a little on the pricey side, but the quality matched the cost--and I was genuinely pleased with my choices. The crust was thin and flavorful, the toppings were balanced, and the hot honey added just the right touch of sweetness and heat. This is definitely a place I'd return to--next time with friends--so we can share a few different pizzas and appetizers and really explore the menu. A few practical notes: * Parking is generally easy since the restaurant shares a lot with neighboring businesses in the complex * There are several nearby spots, including a wine bar and entertainment venues, which make the area feel lively * There was some early parking congestion when a nearby church held services, but the situation has since been addressed with signage and coordinated parking solutions It's nice to see businesses and community partners working together to make things run smoothly. There's also another location of Pizza Baby that I plan to visit, which speaks to how positive my first experience was. Bottom line: Great thin-crust pizza, pleasant outdoor seating, and a convenient stop after yoga or an evening out. A solid addition to Charlotte's growing food scene--and absolutely worth checking out. And if you're already in the area for a class or wellness session, it makes for the perfect post-workout reward.
