Searching for a great NY style pizza, i stopped in Lorenzo's for lunch yesterday. I've been watching the owner's TikToks for a while and the food looks legit. I can confirm, the pizza is legit. I ordered two slices because of a video the owner posted regarding how to properly judge a slice. The pizza was incredible. Crispy flavorful and very reminiscent of a New York slice. I was happy. What is upsetting is knowing that this spot has been here for years, and this is my first time there. I'm disappointed myself. If you want a great slice of pizza, this is my new number one spot in Charlotte. The owner is actually on site, cooking, cleaning, serving, and ringing customers up. Returned for a lunch, just wife and I and we were not particularly hungry or wanting a sit-down experience. Lorenzo's had changed their routine. No longer do you seat, see a menu, order and eat. Now, new to us, you read the menu and specials boards, order at the register, sit, and your deal is delivered. OK...works well. Steven S took care of us and we were the only customers for a bit and then two tables of four came in. Wife had spaghetti and meatballs ($9.99). Portion was very large, so over half of it came home with us. She liked it. I did a Philly Cheesesteak Hero ($15.99) and it was really good. The onions and green peppers were nicely grilled and not just mixed into the meat and cheese, like we have experienced elsewhere. Beverage was $3. A good place for a meal. This is a great pizzeria. We have now made two visits to this restaurant and thought the pizzas were exceptional. Plus, the service provided by Damien was excellent. He recommended the Nonna's Pizza and we were not disappointed. It is a bit of a trip for in distance, but we think it is quite worth it. We look forward to going back soon. read more

Excellent pizza, meatball subs, and chicken parm subs. The entree's can seem a bit weak in portion size, but you need to appreciate that pricing is fair for a local pizza shop which tries to provide a good experience. All the food is flavorful. I have visited them for many years, and can appreciate the owner, his wife, his teenage children , and his kids friends working hard to provide excellent food and service. We need to support local independent businesses, and I appreciate spending my money with this establishment. read more

I'm Italian and this is probably the best pizza I've found in Charlotte -- certainly the best "New York style" pizza. It's not greasy, the dough is great and the tomato sauce tastes really fresh. I'll be back soon. read more

Ok, I am not making this up. This stromboli is the best stromboli I have ever had in my entire life. The dough to meat to cheese ratio was *perfectly* executed. Each bite was full of all the ingredients which is a big win for a stromboli roll. As usual, we ordered way too much food and we also tried a grandma pie as well as a white pizza. I loved the dollops of marinara on the grandma pie. The white pizza was a little bland for me, but then again it is a pretty mild flavor profile up against the grandma pie. I'm not kidding, we were eating pizza for 3 days after this! The pizzas were huge. I'm definitely going back here. read more

A (very!!) close 2nd for Best NY style pizza in the Charlotte area IMO. Great pie, have had a bit of inconsistency across times but usually fantastic. Great flavor, sweet yet tangy sauce, perfect cheese blend, just enough seasoning. Crispy crust but not overdone (occasionally underdone but that's fixable). My family and I have been here many, many times and always stop by when we're in the area. A fantastic slice! Classic, delicious NY style pizza from this locally owned restaurant! The staff was very friendly and helpful and my pick up order was ready right when they said it would be. We got the classic pepperoni pie and the calzone with spinach, mushrooms and onions - so good. You can tell how fresh the bread and ingredients are. They have a few tables inside and more seating outside! Highly recommend. read more

The food is very good. I just moved here from NY and tried a few places, and was not satisfied with the so called Italian food but Lorenzo's has great pizza and pasta dishes thanks to to flavor of the sauce. Only downside is no Italian bread. read more

Delicious cuisine! I'm very impressed with their pizza which was prepared exquisitely. And finally....FINALLY found a meatball parm sub that matches that of what I'm used to in the Tri-State. Food is good and consistent but, many of their items are priced are higher on their online menu than DoorDash, which is very unusual.

I have found my new little pizza restaurant. Went on a Wednesday evening for dinner and had no issues. Service was great and the food was top notch. My boys had the kids spaghetti with a meatball and they both devoured their meals. My husband and I split the pizza and a Caesar salad. Man, $20+ is quite steep for a pizza, but it was well worth it. Ordered the chicken parm & medium pie (had asked if there was a medium size and was told yes- but could have been a language barrier?) However when we went to pick it up, we found were rang up for a large pizza and chicken parm with *no* pasta- which is not something we specified upon ordering. The chicken was good; could have been a great meal on its own if we had gotten the pasta. The pizza, though, was disappointing. the crust was hard to chew, lacking sauce overall and the flavor just wasn't there. Overall fine, but not worth the $50 paid. read more

We stopped in today for lunch after it being recommended to us this past summer. This place is a little over a half an hour away from us, but today we were in the area and decided to go. The location is in a little strip mall. There is plenty of parking. Inside is nice and clean, yet small. We were immediately greeted by the owner, who was so sweet! We ordered the garlic knots, French fries for the kids, and an 18" white pizza. The owner noticed my two toddlers, who were in less than a good mood, and brought them crayons and paper to color! Our food came out really quickly. I honestly don't know what was better--the customer service or the food! Everything was AMAZING!! Although it's not super close, we will be running back. I used to be a fan of Lorenzo's as it was one of my go to spots for pizza and service but now after my last two visits it's been different. The service has been terrible the last two times due to the staff's lack of attention and wait times. When the food finally does come out, it's been warm and lacking the flavor I've been used to. I don't know what's happened to Lorenzo's and I'm not going to keep spending my money to find out if the last two times have been aberrations. Good pepperoni pizza! They have a nice covered patio area for outdoor dining. Went to Saturday lunch & it was quiet so enjoyable. Had the pepperoni pizza for $24. Our pizza was made very good! Just the right texture of the crust and loaded with fresh mozzarella cheese and very tasty sauce. My only issue is...Check your receipt! If you use a credit card to pay for your order they add the extra 3% credit card use surcharge to your bill. Also, if you ask for a cup for water they charge you $.15 for a plastic cup without telling you. These charges won't break my bank but it should be posted that these charges will be applied to your bill. I just prefer transparency in doing transactions. IMO. And, btw, I leave a tip even though all they do is bring you the pizza and plates but you're expected to clean up the table and bring the pizza pan, plates and all else to dispose of at the trash bins. I've noticed that other businesses are doing the same with adding the credit card use surcharges to your purchase without letting you know. That's the price to pay when using the convenience of a credit card. read more

Just ordered a Veal Parmigiana dinner and had it delivered by DoorDash. I asked for Penne on the side but they gave me ziti that was so overcooked the noodles broke apart every time I put a fork in it. The veal was good. This is not the first time they've overcooked the pasta. read more

Thought it would be a great idea to stop by and grab a slice since we were in the neighborhood. And of course it wasn't! As we walked in - no one greeted you. The gentleman (bald headed pizza chef) behind the counter just stared as if we weren't welcome. We notice the first two tables were being occupied to make boxes..which is a good sign. We opted to use the third table in and the lovely girl decided to have an attitude because we were evidently in her way in making more boxes at the second table. I even asked if I needed to move since she made comments to another employee about us sitting at the third table. Unfortunately, still love the pizza here but won't be coming back anytime soon. Something from the sauce, cheese, meatballs, pepperoni, sausage, or ham (fortunately we added onion...which helped) -Wish they had put the garlic we ordered on the pie -$4.00/topping on the Sicilian May give them another try on their traditional crust, but not if it's the same sauce. read more

I was craving a slice of cheese pizza and decided to come here. I came here for lunch and was quickly greeted by a very younger gentleman. He was helping me with the slices and I decided to get a supreme pizza in addition to the cheese pizza because it looked good. I checked out quickly and I got my pizza in a few minutes to go. The whole way home I can smell the pizza and it smelled so good. The portion control on the toppings were good on the supreme. The pizza was good and floppy but not soggy and their was enough sauce on both slices. I killed both slices and I don't regret it at all. I'll definitely come back! read more

Food was ok, place should be a lot cleaner, bathroom was disgusting, I turned back out and decided to hold my bladder. Tables and legs of chairs as well are dusty. Even the slummiest small pizzerias in NYC aren't this filthy. My wife and I and our 3 youngest children just had the grandma's pizza pie and a cheese pizza pie with garlic knots. I have to say you can't go wrong with Lorenzo's signature tomato sauce and the dough was just right. Tonight we are out on the patio of this classy place here in Charlotte, a little piece of New York Style pizza in the south, served with a touch of class like a gentleman. All nope! 1st off I checked the reviews and saw the owner going back and forth with customers that didn't like the food, while i understand you may make it with love doesn't mean everyone's gonna like it and to go back and forth childish like with a customer should've been my 1st, clue customer service was lacking not rude just very nonchalant like they were doing me a favor not cool!
