Hey hey hey Y'all! Let me tell you about this scrumptious food truck that I stumbled upon in The Heights called Marcos Spice. I was craving Indian curry and this Marcos Spice place came up, and I was like Marcos is a Mexican name, but the pictures and the reviews on Yelp kept raving about this butter chicken. Sooo... I went. I almost never do food trucks but I stepped out of my comfort zone and boy am I soo happy I did! The owner, Lee, is amazing!!!! He makes everything himself, and his sauces are from scratch. He showed me his spices, so I know he is the real deal Holyfield! I mean them spices looked like you might slap ya mammy! And that butter chicken sauce was soooo scrumdiddlyumptious!!!! I will go wherever he is to have more. Lee and his awesome sauces are at R Bar, Little Woodrow's on White Oak, and Tikila's various nights. I think like 6-midnight. If I remember correctly. Anyway! On point! Got the beef kabobs, nicely seasoned, garlic naan was nice soft and buttery!

Terrific! I was blessed to have his hot, scrumptious & quick lunch at a church conference on a wintry day! He was friendly, very kind and generous! The excellent Beef kabob was moist with great seasoning! The accompanying veggies were great! Garlic Naan was terrific as well as the biriyani rice! The Mango lassi was great! This is a food truck you would absolutely be remiss not to try if you love Indian food. The guy running the show is really friendly and it's obvious that he cares a lot about the food he's serving. The butter chicken has super complex flavors going on with a lot of spices, but they're well balanced and I think it's a perfectly executed dish. As someone who's way too into spicy food , it isn't wild but it definitely hits the spot if you order it spicy (you can also just get mild if that's not your jam though). The beef kebab is also tasty as hell, and the naan is really nice and pillowy inside with a perfect crisp on the outside. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because I can't submit an order and pay online. You gotta update your app/square site, man! read more

Here to say, Marcos Spice is amazing! Excellent hospitality and delicious food! I had the butter chicken (as suggested by an earlier post), and it's absolutely fantastic! I enjoyed the garlic naan, but realized I really wanted the rice too. Both had perfect texture and flavor! He is at R bar every Thursday. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu! 3 separate couples in our group ordered food and we were all super disappointed - first, there are no prices on the menu - there's a reason - it's SUPER expensive for for what you get; $20 for a few tiny street tacos (and the tiny bit of beef in them was incredibly dry), and then $22 for the chicken kabobs? Also, my wife ordered the chicken tika - a kabob style glazed chicken. He gave her some chicken with veggies and we questioned it he argued with us about it - he said they were the same thing anyway - he just didn't put it on skewers! Then why have two different pictures with two different names‽ Also, it was super dry too...not glazed. Another person ordered the butter chicken that is PICTURED with rice - but it doesn't come with rice, that's extra he said. So was the naan (also in the picture). I absolutely love Indian cuisine, however, I am very picky. This truck is run by the greatest guy! They accidentally forgot an item and he personally ran it up to the 5th floor of my office. I can honestly say the food was beyond delicious, hot, and fresh. You could tell it was made with care and attention. Every bite had me wanting more. I am so glad they came to our office building and I look forward to them coming again. Please give them a try! Absolutely delish and price comparable to other Indian cuisine in the area. I was playing trivia at R Bar (best trivia in Houston BTW) and discovered Marcos Spice. Everything was great. Everything, Chicken tikka. Beef Kabob. All perfect. But the best item was the chicken wings. I brought my order back to the table and everybody agreed, these might be the best wings we're ever had. One of our guys is the executive chef at a well known establishment in midtown. Not an easy guy to impress. We ordered 2 more orders and embarrassed ourselves with how quickly they were eaten. This place is GOLD. randomly found out when I was out with some friends and, no lie, we ordered 8 of the 10 items on the menu. I'm VERY picky about my Indian food (I mean not many can cook better than my mom ya know) but everything on this menu was AMAZING. the flavor, the spice, the curry to meat ratio (IYKYK). The butter chicken is prob the best butter chicken I've had in Texas!! My friend tried butter chicken for the first time this day and was GLUED to this. Many of my friends were trying Indian food for the first time and all were impressed and loving ittt! I don't live in Houston but my friends that do have already been back twice since we tried it a few weeks ago. The grilled shrimp was so flavorful and large and we couldn't stop eating it. My stomach hurt so bad for the next day from stuffing myself to the brim (also Indian food). The chef is also an awesome guy just starting out on his own and the first in his family to venture out and try something like this.
