I LOOOOOOVE Pondicheri. Lunch, dinner, brunch... it hits the spot. What draws us in: :: Woman-owned :: Locally sourced (when possible) and high quality ingredients. :: They don't use seed oils. :: Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are clearly noted on the menu. My favorite dishes are: :: The butter chicken salad--it's one of the best salads in Houston. It's savory, saucy, and a bit tangy and sweet as it's topped with butter chicken, greens, garbanzo beans, chèvre, blueberries, and almonds. :: Saag (which vegans and dairy-free can opt for it cooked with cashew cream and chickpea tofu vs paneer). I get the regular version :: Sunday's thali special :: the GF desserts, specifically the rose laddu ($3/pop) The portions are huge, and it's crazy to notice so many tables leave so much leftover on the table. Y'all... take that to-go! Leftover Indian food slaps. Be sure to go upstairs to check out the bake lab.

Just visited for my first time in a few years, and the food overall fell a little flat compared to what I remembered. We arrived towards the end of happy hour, and the $9 cocktails were a great deal! I had a Chai Old Fashioned which I felt was lacking in spice, just tasted like a regular old fashioned. The lentil dumpling chaat on the happy hour menu was delicious, my favorite thing we tried. For mains we got the butter chicken and saag paneer, and neither was quite as flavorful as I remembered. The service was great, we sat outside on the patio and had no wait for a table on a Saturday night. The restaurant is in a quiet, fancy shopping center off Kirby, with plenty of garage parking and a peaceful outdoor patio. I know they are popular for their breakfast and bakery, so i'll be back some time to try those!

Love Pondicheri for so many reasons! My first visit was during lunch with my cool coworkers. Second visit was with my boyfriend (now husband), a d our recent visits were most memorable after a visit to milk + honey and during Diwali! Pondicheri offers happy hour drink and food specials, including 25% off wine. We tried bone marrow (WOW) and the Diwali thali which was amazing! Great service by Madison & the bartender!

Looking for an upscale Indian restaurant, come here! Rezys needed, but the flavoring for this food is a bit different than traditional Indian food. I died for the parli g ice cream sandwich!!! If i could get that over and over I would Garage parking or valet Separate gender bathrooms Outside seating as well.

I went with my friend here for HRW. The food was not bad. I had the samosa, butter chicken, and the pistachio ice cream. Samosa was filling. Butter chicken was unique with different blend of spices. The pistachio ice cream was alright, it served as a refreshing end to the meal. Service was prompt. There's a complimentary garage nearby.

This spot is supper cute and can accommodate groups. We had 6 in our party and ordered appetizers and main course meals. I don't remember all of the apps but I enjoyed all of them especially the lentil balls (not actual name). For my main course I had the Bengali fish with naan, eh chef's kiss! My mouth is watering just thinking about the overload of spices, flavors and just plain goodness. I would return for that dish alone. My drink was the golden soda. Make sure you stir because at first mine tasted like medicine but once I gave it a good turn around it started to taste okay. It was not to my tastebuds liking so I ordered lemonade after. The service was superb! The server confirmed my entree choice as her favorite and I now know why. Definitely another restaurant added to my Houston tasty foods list! See you next time!

Paneer Bonda were soooo good. Love the way they do the chutney and pomegranate. Paneer texture light and fluffy too. Rajma chaat is a must. Carrot parathas too. Never a bore to dine here

I'm not sure what it is about this place, but I've been here about four times over the years, and it just never quite hits the mark for me. It's located in a very upscale shopping area, and the restaurant itself is attractive, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is friendly, and it's always busy. That said, despite giving it multiple chances, I always walk away remembering why I don't come back more often. The food is just average. It's not bad--it simply tastes like fast Indian food to me. The elegant setting and fancy presentation might give the impression that it's something special, but when it comes down to the actual flavors, it fails. The dishes look great in pictures, but the taste doesn't live up to the visual appeal.

Pondicheri offers a creative spin on Indian flavors, and everything we tried was delicious. The chickpea tofu frankie was packed with flavor and a perfect portion size -- hearty but not heavy. The naan was warm, soft, and full of flavor, easily one of the best I've had. We also tried a house-made mocktail that was super refreshing and perfectly balanced. The vibe is trendy yet laid-back, and the bakery counter is hard to resist. Great spot for anyone wanting something unique and satisfying! Our server was very knowledgeable and we had great service.

This time we were flying out of Houston so decided to try out Pondicheri which came highly recommended. First of, there is plenty of covered parking around which is nice to have. The ambience is great and tastefully done. The menu is unique and refreshing for an Indian restaurant. We got the lamb chops, thali and the ommlette with keema along with a couple of non alcoholic drinks and beer. They have a happy hour till 7 PM so the beer was $5 a pint, nice surprise. The food was mostly good, thali had Undhiyu which is a traditionally Gujrati curry and it was nice. Other curries in the thali were ok. The lamb chops were really good on their but the combination with eggplant raita does not work, at least for us. We might be back again to try the Dosas.

The Crushed Poori Chaat (crushed crispy and thick deep-fried flatbread, lentil and potato mix, pomegranate seeds, chaat sauces) was my favorite item because of the textures and the contrast of everything against the juiciness of the pomegranate seeds. I thought the Lentil Dumpling Chaat was similar to small hushpuppies covered in a thick sauce that reminds me of Pad Thai. The Sabzi Burger (thick and fluffy bun, thick black bean "patty", pickled cabbage and greens with chutneys) was a nice variation of a black bean burger. I liked the bread but thought the pickled veggies and chutneys melded too much with the soft black bean flavor. The Earth Thali had several mini parts. The Saag had a deep and simple spinach flavor. The Coconut stew was similar to a coconut curry but with a more prominent fresh coconut flavor. The Carrot kosambri had finely shredded carrots and other ingredients. The Potato cake (thin crusted, thick and moist potato patty) had a smear of something on it and was a good bite. The Naan (golden flatbread with sesame seeds) is not what some may expect as it resembled in taste and texture a yeasty thick flour tortilla. The Butter Chicken was simple. They offer a small chocolate-covered nut bite with a flaming candle and whipped cream for your birthday. Dinner on a weekday is surprisingly busy. You can do Happy Hour in the regular dining area.

This was an amazing unique experience. Coming from an avid India food lover, the naan and paratha were far from the best I've had, however I thoroughly enjoyed the saag with figs and the butter chicken was good as usual (hard to mess up a butter chicken in my op) the potato cake was a nice touch. The chai pie, however, was excellent. The cookie crust was thick and delicious and the pie custard had such a nice chew to it. Perfectly spiced!

Texas Thali This was amazing way to try different things The lamb chop is delicious

After 10 minutes, nothing. Another 10 minutes passed, still nothing. The restaurant wasn't even busy, just one family there before us. We finally got our appetizers at 8:28 PM, and at that point we still hadn't received our entrees. Another 10 minutes went by with no food. We tried to be patient, but we were really hungry and had driven all the way from Katy for this. My mom was fasting, and we were expecting a nice dinner, but the experience was honestly disappointing. Our entrees didn't arrive until 8:48 PM. We ordered the lamb injera, and it was honestly terrible. It had no seasoning, no salt, and just looked like it had some yellow coloring. The injera itself was cold, almost icy in some spots. On top of that, there were barely any meat pieces, maybe 4-5 small pieces, which is ridiculous for a dish that costs around $27-28. We also ordered a chicken dish, which was actually the only decent part of the meal. But it's definitely not worth coming here just for that. The prices here are high, and we were fine paying for good food. The problem was the long wait time and the poor quality. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

There was a strong lingering smell of pine-sol and Mr. Clean in the air. Of course, that indication told me that the restaurant was clean. The items on the buffet line was plenty, but limited. I got the rice, tofu curry, chaat marsala, and some vegetables. Everything except for the chaat was bland. It wasn't very easy to eat while the smell of cleaning supplies was in the air. It reminded me of sitting in a bucket of cleaning chemicals while eating a meal. The tofu curry tasted only like turmeric, but no salt or pepper or anything. The rice was super bland. The chaat marsala was very tasty and well seasoned. I finished off with desserts which both options were tasty. I particularly enjoyed the salad dressing (an avocado cream), the veggie lentil soup, and the spinach potato dish. Unfortunately, the special of the day or a dish near it (the soya Manchurian? I'd heard some rave reviews from friends and decided to check this place out a few months ago, and went again today. The restaurant is a decent size with ample seating - booths and regular tables. There's also an outdoor patio and a good amount of parking behind the building. When you walk in, you place your order at the counter and wait for it to come out at your booth. Both times I've been, I've opted for the Vermicelli bowl with shrimp because it is just so good!! The noodles are light and there's a lovely light sauce to pour over them. There are a bunch of fresh greens and cucumbers that go so well with the bowl and make it feel light and refreshing. Now for the shrimp - they are seasoned oh so well and come out nice and crunchy!! These were the reason I decided not to change proteins on my second visit. The portion size is substantial and I've always had leftovers for another small meal. The staff are all friendly and helpful and came to clear out our table after we finished our portions. There's also self-serve to-go containers to box up your leftovers. You have a partial view into kitchen so can see and feel the intensity. Drinks were ok and food was very good. Prices are mid-range, on par for what you would expect for this type of restaurant. Service was ok but was there around time some folks were getting off shift so that probably had an impact. Had the chicken curry and a citrus and mint cocktail. Forgot to take photos but it was just a standard looking dish and drink. Usually don't order curry at Vietnamese restaurant but I was in the mood for it and this one surprisingly was very good. Typically for a curry I'll go to a Thai, Indian or Jamaican restaurant. Their curry was very similar to Thai style but it had a Vietnamese flair to it. Hard to describe. Hint of some Vietnamese spices with the traditional Thai style curry flavor that changed it up a bit in a good way. They also mixed some vermicelli noodles into the curry which added something new. The chicken was quality chicken and cooked well. I've found lately not all chicken is equal so worth noting it was high quality chicken. Overall I really liked the curry and would definitely order it again. Had the curry with the sticky coconut rice instead of regular rice. I didn't care for it at all. The coconut rice was hard, very chewy and sort of rubbery. It wasn't sweet at all, more in savory side so it worked with the curry dish. The wait staff had suggested sub'ing in the coconut rice for regular rice for an extra $2.99. So I was game to try it. The flavor was not bad but the rice texture was off. The rice was also browned on the outside like they fried it. I will probably stick with a Thai place when I order sticky rice in the future, pun intended ;) Cocktail was so /so, they didn't mix it well and everything was on the bottom. So first part of the drink was watery and flavorless and last half was heavy. Think the drink would have been good if they stirred it. My friend had the pho soup and he said it was good. I'd originally planned on pho but changed my mind when I saw the menu. In summary, nice fast casual Vietnamese place that has pretty good energy. It's very clean and prices are standard for that category. No comment on my cocktail as the mixed drink wasn't mixed. Curry was excellent but the coconut rice is a hard pass.

I ordered the Tejano Cesar Zepplin and added double chicken, pickled onions and halved tomatoes with a side of tomato, basil soup and it was all so good. I've never had a zeppelin until before now and it's the best way to describe it is that it's the cross between a sandwich and a salad. What it is exactly is a loaf of bread with the inside taken out so that it's like more of a shell and then it is a salad bowl like mixture stuffed in there. I feel like it's the perfect lunch because It's super filling, but also very light, and healthy! What more can you ask for. Wish I could even give this location 6 stars because I came about 40 minutes before close and he gave me 2 bread puddings for free because they were about to close.

They warm the bread, remove the inside and leaves the crispy outside to fill in with salad. Their salad recipes are good, especially the southwest one with avocados and black beans. Substitutions seem welcome and you get to choose your own sauce. Of course, let's not forget they offer Zapp's chips, which are delicious. Overall great and filling meal. Oh, so many tables to sit alone or as a group. Great place to be ! Leaving satisfied and would want to come back!

First, we got there pretty early for our reservation. We sat almost immediately upon check in. Our waiter was in training but did a really good job. Ordered a whiskey sour. Was seated at the bar so I got to watch it be made. The bartender- man that guy never stopped. He was organized and just did his thing. So many pretty drinks were made while I was there watching. The pink one, whatever it was, was really pretty! On to the food. We got two apps, two meals, and two desserts. Husband ordered the Brussels, Steak Frites, and the Devil's Affogato. I got the Bacon covered Dates, the Pizza, and the Sticky Toffee Cake. The Brussels were good - husband liked them more than me. They were good. Had cashews in them. Little spicy. The bacon covered dates. Think this was my favorite bite. Sweet, salty, creamy. Came we three & I had two. The pizza was sweet and salty as well. The crust was so good and fresh. The arugula set it off so well. Def a buy again! The Steak Frites was so good. The chimichurri sauce was perfect. Just the right mount of citrus. Steak was tender and the fries seasoned well. The desserts - don't skip them! The Devils Affogato we had the first time we ate at Sixty Vines. Had to have it again. If you like coffee, chocolate and vanilla ice cream just get it. Restaurant vibe is relaxed and clean. There were several large parties and what looked like a lot of date night guests. Just try it. No regrets!!
