My first time trying these guys was through Uber eats at 3am and I gotta say I was really impressed with both items I got. Chicken Shawarma bowl was huge and is lasting me for 3 meals now. And I have quite a healthy appetite for reference. Everything in this bowl was amazing: chicken is perfectly seasoned and not fatty, rice is perfectly cooked and flavorful, fresh vegetables and delicious garlic sauce, that wasn't heavy on garlic at all (my preference). My second item was beef shawarma wrap with extra pickles. It was absolutely delicious! I didn't think I was gonna be able to finish it in one sitting because it was big, but I couldn't stop biting into that scrumptious goodness. The meat was plentiful and lean and everything tasted fresh and perfectly seasoned. It was probably one of the best shawarma wraps I've had in years! Decent Halal option in the Main downtown area if you're out and about and craving a hearty meal beyond the food trucks. It's a small spot so most times it's a takeout order. if you're comfortable enough to sit outside the establishment you'll most likely encounter various panhandlers as it's a bit of a sketchy area with random foot traffic I've gotten the shawarma rice bowl a few times- the meats are seasoned well, it's a hearty bowl with a combination of veggies/toppings/sauce, comparable to a place like Halal guys but a bit more expensive. I hate that gunky garlic-style sauce in general so I asked for tahini sauce and spicy sauce and it wasn't what I was looking for. Best Shawarma place in town and possibly the best late, late-nite take out in 77002. The panhandlers outside in Main may be a little thick so wear a heavy coat. Have patience with the kitchen staff. This may look like fast-food but it's closer to a scratch kitchen. Chicken is so moist, tender and roasty and the pickles are maybe my favorite in town though the staff is stingy as hell. . The shawarma was cut in bite-size pieces and there were a lot of fries. The fries were seasoned well. The shawarma, on the other hand, had a different sauce than your typical one. It was white sauce and had more of a mayo consistency. Not bad by any means but they put too much on there. To the point it was oozing out of the sides a bit. This little food truck is a godsend when you're drunk, hungover, or just want restaurant quality food downtown at night without having to pay out the nose for some douchey hipster gentrified foodcourt. The guy who runs this thing is incredibly friendly and helpful. I couldn't decide between gyro meat or chicken shawarma on my rice/salad combo, so he let me get a mix of both, which was fantastic in its own right. Then while I was waiting for my food, a tourist came by taking pictures of the street. I stepped off to the side so as not to accidentally photobomb. Well, the dude running the food truck noticed I seemed to be trying to avoid the guy with the camera, so he stuck his head out the window just to make sure I was okay. I let him know everything was fine, but I definitely appreciate him keeping an eye out for his customers. As for the food - yummy and plentiful. I'll easily have enough left over for lunch tomorrow.
