This is probably one of my favorite movie theaters, because it's so different from the ones in my neck of the woods in suburban Chicago. The main thing I love is that when you buy your tickets, you get to pick your seats so it's not just a dark free for all finding seats together like it is at my local theater. It's more efficient. The chairs are amazing. They're super soft and comfortable and they recline, which is a huge plus. It makes it feel more like you're watching a movie at home on the couch than in a public place. I really like that. I like that there is a regular concession stand with things like hot dogs and popcorn, and then a proper dining area that has alcohol, pizza, and sandwiches. This is a very weird concept to me but I adore it. Last time we were here, we saw The Night Before (hilarious, in a dumb kind of way). We got seats together and a few concessions. My girlfriend got an order of Oreo churros and loved them, and it pained her greatly to share. I had an order of Dorito bite things- nacho cheddar triangles breaded with Doritos chips then fried, they come six to an order and were so good. They were overpriced but, that's the theater for you. This will continue to be my theater of choice, and I hope to see many more films here. read more

I saw Star Wars on one of the bigger sized, premium screens at Marcus Theater. One of the things in particular that I liked about the place was that the front row seats are not placed way too close to the screen in order to maximize room. Other than that, reasonable ticket prices considering it is the only theater in the area. I'd also recommend going on Tuesday if you are a student, as tickets are five dollars then. That being said, showings tend to sell out fast for that very reason, so be sure to buy tickets ahead of time if possible. read more

The bathroom cleanliness is a huge problem. The bathrooms usually stink, have toilet paper strewn about, and are generally unkempt. If they fixed this problem and the fact that the popcorn is always cold I'd give them 5 stars. read more

Love the loungers, like the food and drink options but holy crap, I have never been so hot in a move theater! I am normally always cold, I have a blanket in my office and I keep at least one sweater in my car at all times so for me to be hot or even just warm is rare. On Christmas my family and I saw Star Wars at the 8pm showing, the movie was crazy good, the popcorn was tasty and the seats were so comfortable especially after being on my feet cooking all day long. My only complaint, I was uncomfortably warm. I am thankful they don't feel the need to make it freezing cold like so many theaters do but I hope they can find a happy medium. read more

Actually, this is a 5 star theater from the perspective of really awesome comfortable seats. The recliners always make it an experience to watch a movie theater. There are also deals like $5 Tuesdays and for students, Thursdays. This is the first theater I've been to where if I'm just bored on a Tuesday night, I do not mind just heading over to the movie theater and watch a movie by myself. Food prices are what you would expect from a theater: expensive and stupid. But hey, this review is for the movie theater itself. Only reason it's not a 5-star? The bathrooms. They are terrible. I'm sure they're trying to keep up - and being that most of the employees seem to mostly students, you don't really expect the best top notch cleaning (my assumption here is purely based on how lazy I was as a teen). Other than the bathrooms, the lounge areas and halls are usually clean. read more

I took 4 grandchildren to see a movie on Sunday (9/27/2015) afternoon. the new recliners are wonderful, but the concession stand has a long way to go. First we had a hard time to get someone to wait on us. When we finally got someone attention we ordered a large popcorn,large soda and pretzel bites. they gave us popcorn and soda and said it was going to be a while for pretzel bites. but they hadnt even started the pretzel bites. i gave the soda and popcorn to the grandchildren and sent them in, so they wouldnt miss the start of the movie. When i recieved the pretzel bites and paid for item, I thought the price was high but wanted to get into the movie since it had started already. the day after i looked at my slip to see they charged me for 2 combos, popcorn and soda, and pretzels and soda. I contacted Marcus online with the information, included date, time, cashier,station, my name, address,phone and email address. its been 4 days and no response. it will take more than nice recliners to get me to go back. read more
