I hired Mardi to install a large, very heavy mounting bracket and new basketball backboard onto the roof of my garage. It's all Spalding products and unfortunately was a very confusing piece of equipment to assemble. And then the actual mounting. The whole thing probably weighs 100 lbs easy. I've contacted many 5-star handyman businesses. They either never respond, never pickup, or they never show up. This was not the case with Mardiman. They responded in a very timely manner, and suggested the appropriate service (half-day 9a-1p) based on the list of needed repairs I gave them. When one of their employees had given them a short notice of taking the day off due to the Christmas holidays, Mardiman let me know a day before and thus I was able to reschedule the service for the day after. Galust came earlier than the stated 9am and was understanding when I told him I would arrive at the property at 9am. Before he started any work, he made sure to check everything that needed to be fixed, so that only one trip to Home Depot was needed. I appreciate that he is very efficient with his time and made sure he made the most out of the half-day service I had chosen. The list of things I needed repaired: kitchen lights/ballast, replace water filter spout with soap dispenser, fix ceiling fan, remove 2 window blinds, replace tub drain cover, fix all 4 loose/leaking faucet handles in the bathroom. The only thing he could not fix was the broken bathtub handle where no water would flow out. He tried his best to figure it out, but we did not see any entryway to the bottom side of the handle for him to unscrew and inspect the issue. He recommended that I hire a plumber, who may be able to figure it out. OVERALL I am very happy with Mardiman's communication and Galust's work. He was able to get all the work done within the half-day service! He was incredibly nice and taught me a bit about each appliance issue, which I think is important for a homeowner to understand. This business is definitely my go-to for any handyman work and I will be recommending them to everyone I know. They are reliable, communicative, and have very competitive prices. It's rare that you find a contractor or handyman to stick to their word, deliver on budget and on time. Mardiman did that and more. We did a 90 foot long fence and thought we wanted it at 6 feet high, but quickly decided we wanted the extra privacy and asked them to build it to 8 feet...after 6 foot posts were already sunk and set. No questions asked, they got it done on time, coming early and staying late. Sasha was awesome, an absolute workhorse! We'll be hiring them again for sure. read more

We hired Mardiman to put up a basketball hoop/backboard onto a stucco wall. His worker Galust, did an amazing job, making sure the heavy backboard was securely attached to the wall. He also came up with a great idea to add rubber padding to the bracket to dampen the noise of the ball hitting the backboard. Overall we're very happy with the work. Needed dry wall repaired before cabinets and countertops can be installed next week. Mardig and his assistant came after hours to do an excellent job. They even repaired sections I initially did not mention in quote which was much appreciated! Also, added texture coating which enhanced the look of our kitchen walls. He is very detail oriented. After not having great luck with handymen in the past, I did an exhaustive search and decided to give Mardiman a try. So glad I did!!! Mardi set the appointment up with ease and Galust came right on time to do a laundry list of repairs. For a day rate: he mounted two TVs, grouted the kitchen sink and tub, installed a lock, re-enforced the backyard fence (which was about to topple over from the winds), repaired another part of the fence which was missing both slats and had damaged 2x4s. Additionally, the dude just fixed things that he walked by and saw were broken. It was a marvel to watch. Also, he and I went to the hardware store together and he was a pleasure to be around.
