We needed new rollers for an oversized, custom slider. After many frustrating Yelp replies from others ("sorry, we don't do repairs but we can replace your perfectly good door") I got a call-back from Dr. Slide Door. The technician (I'm sorry, I missed his name) was great! Friendly, knowledgeable, and 100% prepared with the appropriate parts and tools. Although the price was higher than I expected, the service was faultless! He installed new, stainless-steel rollers in place of the old, broken plastic ones and replaced rusted, broken screws on the frame. He also aligned the door, cleaned the track, and showed me the proper lubricant to keep things moving. He was also great with our two dear dogs, and they liked him just fine. This is a terrible company that should be avoided at all costs. The people who work there are rude, condescending, and verbally combative. If you are lucky enough to get them on the phone for a quote, they will not follow up, they will give you incorrect information about how to send information, and will rudely deny work for no explanation. When asked a simple question of other vendors in the community that might be able to help after refusal, they will incredulously say they have been in the business for 15 years and they have never been asked this question. They will claim that they have no competitors and you should just google for someone else to do the work. Our sliding glass doors were so difficult to open that I just quit using them. We were looking into replacing them (and coping with the sticker shock) when we ran across an ad for Dr. Slide Door. Although the repairs weren't cheap (replaced rollers) it was far less expensive than replacing the entire door. Only one door actually needed repair - the other just needed to be put back on the track, cleaned and lubricated. Now the repaired door opens with one finger. Today we finally had our sliding glass door repaired. The size of our door is 9x4 feet wide and has been extremely difficult to open and close. Yelp reviews win the day, again! Booked an estimate and repair based on the great review status. We had 65 year old 200lb sliding glass doors that have been subjected to years of outside salt air moisture. All of the hardware screws were either in advanced stages of rusting or fell off due to turning to rust powder. If you live near the beach, you know. It was at the point that all sliders would no longer roll to open. I assumed all rollers had corroded out of existence. We were bracing ourselves for a full demo and rebuild for all 3 old sliders, which were installed initially during the initial 1962 construction, is very difficult to work locations. Luckily, the quality of the doors were such that Yaniv was able to recommend servicing and replacing rollers. Also gave us helpful tips on how to keep these doors lubed and trouble free for the future. Yaniv was great to work with- knowledgeable, friendly , kept in good communication about arrival time, professional - able to address all of our issues. This company saved us a tone of money.
