We were seated immediately. Our waitress came over took our drink order and answered our questions. Unfortunately our drink order was lost. Our waitress came to take our food order and we said to her we never got our drinks. She looked confused and went to check, we had only asked for 2 beers and 2 waters. She came back over with the the beers and a margarita. She said that there was a problem with the paper for the tickets and ours got lost and she gave a a watermelon margarita to make up for it. It was a very nice gesture. I'm not a fan of mixing drinks but I thought that was very nice. Our waitress was great in helping me narrow down which tacos to get. Appetizer was very good as well as the food. Each taco was deliciously prepared and we love the side of plantains!! Solid 4 star place. Service was great! We didn't make a reservation but hardly waited any time at all for a table. Our server was fantastic! Food was fresh and flavorful albeit a bit over salted. And by "a bit" I mean ALOT!! When the ingredients are that fresh (and they were) there's no need to have this much salt on the food. By far my favorite dirty taco location! The tables are not on top of each other and the location is spacious with a big bar and big tables throughout. I ordered 4 different tacos - all were unique and delicious. I love that they have so many options from chicken to steak to seafood and everything in between. I have been to all of the other dirty taco locations and finally got around to trying Smithtown. They have many different rooms with seating and a large bar with great decor all over. I ordered guacamole for an appetizer which arrived quickly and the whole table was able to enjoy some. They also have queso and salsa for other appetizer options. For my entree, I went with the steak quesadilla which wasn't soggy and had a generous amount of cheese. I enjoyed both and will definitely be ordering it again. Note - they don't take reservations so anticipate waiting during busy times. They have a large parking lot in front and along the side of the restaurant. Recommend the Pollo Asada, Al Pastor & Pollo poblano +$2 for that one, not really sure why. The wings were fantastic. Hot & Crispy. Went Ghost Pepper. Spicy, great flavor. This one happened to be the closest, so we stopped here. It draws heavily from other cultures, especially Asian cuisine, with items like bulgogi, bang bang shrimp, and more. We ordered the habanero ribs, duck bao buns, dirty nachos, and a steak burrito. Overall, the food was pretty decent. As I've mentioned in other nacho reviews, it's important for places to layer ingredients throughout the chips, and this spot does that well, which was a plus. The duck bao buns were surprisingly decent, and the habanero ribs were okay. The burrito was my least favorite, though--despite being marinated in chimichurri, it lacked flavor. Visited Dirty Taco at this location a couple of times on work trips. Each time has been a good experience. There is a bar area and a large dining area with different rooms. The cocktails in general have been consistently prepared well, and the margaritas are served in little mason jars. There is a massive array of options when it comes to the food menu, with a bit of an Asian fusion with Tex mex. I have had a number of their tacos, some of which are fantastic with bold flavors and many different garnishes and accoutrements, some were so-so and not memorable. The service is typically friendly l, and the timing is pretty good overall. If you like Mexican cuisine with an Asian influence, give this place a try! Went here with my friend on Cinco de Mayo & had such a good experience. The wait was pretty average for how busy it was, the food was awesome, & the service was really good. One of the best parts was being able to bring our dogs with us. There was unfortunately a situation where another table had a very hyper dog that ended up going after our dogs, but the manager handled it incredibly well. They quickly addressed the situation, asked the other party to leave, and even gave us a gift card which was really appreciated. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and handled everything with a lot of grace and professionalism. Brunch date with my girls who live out this way because two out of three of us are moms and we were sold by the mimosas that were $.99. We were those girls that waited at the door for them to open. Service is prompt, food is fresh! The menu talks about the Korean BBQ/short rib plate as 'famous'. And it is really tasty! but it is also TOO rich in MSG/Umami/soy flavoring. It is only offered as a taco, which does not have enough kimchi/other stuff to cut the richness of the rib. They should offer this as a 'bowl' topping to be cut with rice or maybe in a burrito... but as a taco it is too strong and overpowering. We had about a 30 minute wait to get seated, which isn't surprising for a hoppin' Saturday nite. Leanna was our 'super waitress', friendly and she got our order right. Hardest part was deciding what to get-so many choices! I had the kung pao dumplings and a fried oyster taco that was excellent. My friend had a lobster taco that looked awesome. Drinks were good, maybe a little stronger than were used to, but we were happy! When we got the check, there was a discount for cash. So keep that in mind.
