We went for my birthday dinner and Margaritas did not disappoint! Our server was amazing, the margarita fries appetizer was wonderful as were the birra chimichanga's! Everyone food was amazing! The jalapeño margarita was the best! All in all one of my favorite places for dinner!

I'd be surprised by the low reviews of this place if the most common recommendation for Mexican food around here wasn't a place I hate. Lol. It really does come down to what you prefer. Margaritas' salsa isn't great, to be fair. But we love everything else we get there, including the margaritas and the sangria. Hubbo has a new favorite dish: choripollo, which is a chicken breast covered in chorizo slathered in a cheese sauce. Service is always great though it can be slower when they're really busy. Get a margie flight, you won't mind waiting.

The server was nice. The atmosphere is what you would want for a Mexican restaurant. They have plenty of drinks to choose from. The food for me wasn't the best. I got the La Bandera plate. The green sauce on the enchiladas was sour to me & the ground beef wasn't seasoned very well & dry. The rest of the plate was ok, the chicken was good & the cheese enchilada was the best one. The chips served at the table with the salsa were terrible.

I'm surprised by some of the 1-star reviews of Margaritas. I've been there twice recently and had a good experience both times. They have the standard Mexican fare offered at restaurants around here, as well as a page of soups and salads, lots of appetizer choices, and vegetarian and vegan sections. The free chips and salsa are tasty. Salsa is somewhere between mild and medium. Service was friendly both times I went. My friend and I hung out at our table forever, and nobody made us feel like we had to rush out. If you order the guacamole azteca, they roll over a little cart and make it in front of you. It's very chunky and a huge portion (two whole avocados). It isn't mashed up like the smoother guac some restaurants serve, but good flavor with lots of salt, pepper, and cilantro. Big enough to share with a group. Don't get too excited about the blood orange margarita on the spring drinks menu, they didn't have the ingredients for it twice that I tried to order. I did have a classic lime margarita on the rocks and enjoyed it. My husband had one of the combo meals and did not care for the refried beans that came with his meal and said they tasted like peanuts. I didn't get that flavor at all and thorougly enjoyed my El Vegetariano. Possible heads up for allergy people though. I'll be back to try other dishes - maybe even a blood orange margarita!

This was everything I expected from a casual Mexican restaurant. I appreciated the large size of my Margarita and the variety of tequila to choose from. Portions were plentiful and our service was attentive and quick. One note, regardless of party size, if you are seated after 9pm, gratuity is automatically included on your bill.

Our experience at Margaritas inside matched the dreariness of the weather outside. At first, the decor and fiesta-ness seemed to set a nice vibe, but that's were it ended. The menu is a huge card of hundreds of items in what appears to be 8 or 9 point font with minimal spacing. Even those of us who don't need reading glasses were using our phones to magnify the text just to read it. My mother ordered chicken enchiladas, add mushrooms. All she got was mushrooms and cheese, no chicken. That had to be remade. The other three of us ordered a variety of meals that all had the same qualities in common: cold, stale, rubbery, flavorless... It honestly felt like we were being served 2 or 3 day old leftovers reheated in a microwave. Overall, very disappointed. Oh yeah, as we discussed alternative restaurants that were better, the server chimes in to agree with what we were saying and even recommended a few more!!!

The servers are not just taking orders, they actually understand the menu, the ingredients, the pairings. You can ask questions and get real answers. At one point I thought, these aren't bartenders, they're scientists. The level of knowledge and attention to detail is just different. The food completely lived up to that same standard. Every single person at the table was happy with their meal, which honestly says a lot. No one was picking around their plate or wishing they ordered something else. The chef clearly knows what they're doing. Everything was thoughtful, balanced, and just really, really good. Quick note on dessert though. It didn't quite match the level of the rest of the menu. Not bad, just not on the same level. If you're trying to be strategic, you can probably skip it and leave happy. Parking is easy, which I always appreciate. You've got valet or you can self park, so no stress there. If you're in Rochester, you really can't skip Redd Wood. It's one of those places that makes the whole dining experience feel elevated without being over the top. Definitely worth it.

For the price, we were completely underwhelmed For starters, we ordered two different cocktails. The May queen was fabulous the bebbo was tasty, but you couldn't taste any gin in it We started with the Lyonnaise salad , smoked beets, Swedish meatballs, tuna tartare and chicken wings The salad was our favorite, the tuna lacked flavor and we detected no smokiness in the beets. The meatballs were light and the sauce flavorful, would've loved a few more June berries. Chicken wings were nicely spiced and no too saucy For the main we shared 2 steak frites- a bit more well done than the medium rare ordered but tender and tasty, fries are great- bordelaise sauce didn't have the depth of flavor I expected. For dessert we shared the lemon poppyseed cake and chocolate mouse. The cake was light and Lemony with a hint of poppyseed flavor. The mousse was very odd- super pale in color and the crunchy bits on top did not pair well with the texture of the mousse Service was attentive, sometimes a bit too much- reaching across the table to fill waters... maybe leave a bottle on the table? It was a completely male staff... Male servers, male, valets, male bartenders. We did wonder where the women were.

The restaurant is also available to get to by boat as the site also hosts a marina with slips for both transient boats and seasonal slip rentals. My wife was given a gift card for Skippers for her birthday, and over the weekend, we decided to go use it. It's situated somewhat in a residential neighborhood with a few parking spaces in front of the restaurant. We were sat right away. It was an early dinner for us, around 4PM. There were a couple other tables sat, but the restaurant was mostly open. We asked for an outdoor seat and were brought right back. The inside of the restaurant is large with 2 floors and was very dark inside. We were given our menus. Took a bit for our server to get to us, but no big deal. I ordered the risotto with chicken and a virgin pina colada while my wife got the lobster stuffed haddock with a drink special. As someone who doesn't drink alcohol, I always appreciate a restaurant that offers mocktails. Again, not a ton of tables sat, but it took a bit for us to get our food. Luckily, it was a beautiful day to just sit and look out onto the water. Our food was brought over and we got to it. Portions were large, but we both felt the food was just okay. My risotto had very little flavor, and the chicken was completely unseasoned. My wife said her food was fine, but the onion rings were the stand out of her meal. Our gift card was for $80 and our 2 meals and drinks came to $86. Our server was very friendly, but the service was slow for the amount of people there. Beautiful view on the outside patio, but for us, that was the best part of the experience.

The employees are really nice, and helpful. They can get pretty busy on Fridays, due to their fish fries. They are good. Good seafood has been difficult to find here in Rochester. But Davies has hit the mark for several years now, and if they clean it up, I will definitely plan to be back. We were there today for lunch. We ordered a fried clam strip dinner, and small lobster bisque. They called my name, bagged it up, and I was out the door. When I returned home, we found a fish fry in our bag, and not fried clam strips. We were not going to drive back and return it, so we split it and ate it. Disappointed is an understatement, not to mention I was kicking myself for not checking. The fish was good, French fries soggy, Mac salad, was fresh. Unfortunately, they added the Mac salad to the same container as the hot food. Be prepared for some of it to be cold and some hot, Mac salad on the soggy fries, etc.... I noticed today, The floor was sticky, and felt gross. The restaurant also smelled different, not sure why, it's hot or miss with seafood places. They were gearing up for their Friday fish fry's when we went in. We landed on the Friend clan strips because a friend recommended them to us. We were really looking forward to trying something new. Needless to say we were disappointed that we ended up with the fish fry, but at least we knew it would be good. The lobster bisque tasted sour, and we threw it away. The whole experience was disappointing, and subpar, compared to our usual experience. Which has not been our usual. However, since the start of spring we have been in 3 times, and all 3 times, were turned off with cleanliness issues. The sticky floor and wrong order, was kind of the camels straw. We went last week too, I was looking for specific fresh seafood to make Lobster Newberg with. The Haddock is always fresh, I also asked for scallops, and shrimp. I took the last of their shrimp, and to my surprise when she told someone the shrimp bin was empty, they took a bag out of the freezer, and added it. I was surprised, I thought that was always fresh, and not frozen, not the other way around. I also noticed that the man who handled the scallops was not wearing gloves, and after he went and handled something else. These cross contamination issues, sour soup, and sticky floors, is not usual for them, and my BF and I decided we will look for another place until they clean it up.
