My family and I spent a weekend at the Cape Codder resort and it was a great trip. We only spent two nights and spent one day inside the water park. My stepson and his cousin had a blast going down the different slides and the wave pool. There weren't any lines and there wasn't a-lot of people which I personally enjoy. The second day we drove to Provincetown to explore and had a great time too. The beds were comfortable. I was not expecting much to be quite honest. We usually travel and spend most of our time out exploring and just go to our hotel rooms to sleep. I like going out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So we did not try any of the food at this place besides nachos by the pool park and those were good. There are also many entry points around the hotel to make it easier to access your vehicle. Those entries do require your hotel room key to open which gave me an extra peace of mind. read more

The hotel was immaculate. We had an accessible room for my Mom who has mobility issues. It was perfect for her. Walk in shower with several grab bars and a built in chair. Food at The Land Shark was very good. Very small pours of wine would be my only complaint. Pool area was very clean. Could use some light tropical music piped in. Every employee we came in contact with was pleasant, attentive and eager to help in any way needed. This place is literally a money scheme. We paid almost 500$ for a two- night stay. Was told over the phone when I booked that the price included FOUR waterpark tickets- it included none (we found out when we checked in EVEN though I called twice before to make sure) Waterpark tickets were an extra 25$ each person per day- okay fine, we'll pay it. The waterpark? SMALL! The only things there are a lazy river and a kiddie pool & like 2 slides. I'm sorry, what? The place is known for their waterpark and this was it?! We had to pay 12$ to rent a locker to protect our things while we were swimming. The mid restaurant was 91$ for two people & a baby. There's NO microwave in your room, HUH? There are NO vending machines around the resort. HUH?? We had to buy 4$ small bottles of water for our baby at their restaurant because that's the only place to get water from. Upon check In, we were rushed. The person checking us in was too busy answering phone calls while checking us in. Tried to ask questions about restaurants etc. and she was too busy on the phone. Offered little to no explanation of anything. Everything I saw on their website like princess spa day & story time etc... none of it exists. No one knew what I was talking about. What a nightmare. We left a day earlier, didn't want to spend another arm and a leg there. Just not worth it all. They do nothing for birthdays either btw. I would love to debunk any negative feedback ever posted on the previous reviews. I myself have been visiting this resort for over a decade. I loved this place When it was cape codder, with the restaurant hearth and kettle, fire place and luxury rooms. I've seen many small changes over the years but the new and improved margaritaville is nothing less than magnificent. My family and I believe you can not place a PRICE TAG on happiness! I had a beautiful room with a balcony, with the spring package that included water park passes for the entire weekend. I also received food vouchers to their kid friendly Restaraunt on site (Landshark), the food was great and prepared in a timely manner. The center bar seems perfect for the parents that want to socialize or even catch a sports event on the big screens. I also booked a party package with Paige Anderson and she executed her responsibilities tremendously. She was very punctual, kind, and thoughtful. Austin the waterpark manager took the time out of his day to assist me on the busiest day of the year. I even watched him in action help a young lady that had a tough day. I would give 0 stars if I could. The outdoor terrace was gross, and the outdoor games were all broken or had pieces missing. Empty alcohol glasses, cigarette butts, dirty towels were all over the place. Advertises for family friendly when it doesn't seem that way at all. The water park does not open until 10am on the weekends and during the week it opens at 3pm. There were bugs in our room, and the lifeguard working the wave pool was obviously on something because she could not keep her eyes open while working. I took my 17yr old daughter her overnight for a quick getaway. Rooms were beautiful, staff were great, arcade and waterpark were fun. The 2 women that were at the desk when I checked out (4/11/2025) were absolutely a delight to talk to. They gave me their names but I forgot, but please find out who they were because they were fantastic. The woman that checked us in (4/10/2025) was great too! Our waitress at the restaurant was very friendly and accommodating as well. I only have 2 very small disappointments. 1. The restaurant wasn't a Margaritaville restaurant. 2. I would've liked the vibe more if Jimmy Buffet music was what was played in the common areas (ie. Waterpark, lobby). I think it would give a much more relaxed feeling for guests. Even a facelift couldn't improve the experience. The renovation was well done. Rooms were updated with new beds, bathrooms and tvs. However that still couldn't offset the terrible service and atmosphere. We "requested" an early check-in which was apparently denied but we received no notification so strike one. To wait until the room was ready, we went to the water park where strike two, no clean towels or tables were available. We went back to check-in (as did 100 other people) at 3:50, room still not ready, we'll call you in 10 minutes, what?! 4:30, no call, strike 3 and then you guessed it, it just got worse. The service at Landshark is rough. We clearly had a very young and inexperienced server so still left a good tip but the service (and drinks) were terrible. Food was as expected. Waterpark is clearly oversold and they don't have the staff or facilities to accommodate. Lines to get in, not enough towels or tables, lifeguards seem annoyed but why wouldn't they when it's over capacity, lines for the slides. They need to improve their service and processes to improve the experience. There is clear lack of management support and it's just young kids doing their best but they need help and support and better systems to have it run smoother for the guest to enjoy the experience. read more

We stayed at the Margaritaville Hyannis resort during the blizzard of 2026. We arrived after losing power, at the height of the storm. There was no electricity anywhere in our area except for Margaritaville resort. It was chaos on the roads, parking lots, and at the resort. It seemed like everyone in town was trying to check in at once. I am giving a shout out to the front desk manager and her staff. Even with all that was going on, the long line of anxious folks waiting for check in, the blizzard blowing through the front door and Priceline booking rooms even after the hotel had notified them to stop due to capacity, I observed nothing but professionalism by the staff with a heavy dose of compassion and willingness to try to make accommodations. Additionally, the rest of the hotel staff were friendly and respectful. Again, there was chaos outside with 33" of snow coming down. I also observed the hotel bringing backup industrial generators and connecting them to the hotel in the event they too lost power. The next morning when I woke and checked on my vehicle the parking lot had been cleared and cars were accessible. We stayed for three additional nights until our power was restored. The hotel staff did their best to accommodate us and the other guests. A big Thank You! to the Margaritaville team. read more

5/5 - Great Family Getaway, Don't Let the Bad Reviews Fool You! I'm honestly not sure why this place has received some low reviews. After staying here with my family, I think many of the complaints could have been avoided with a little research and reasonable expectations. First off--this is a family hotel with a children's waterpark inside. If you're looking for complete peace, quiet, and no kids around, this might not be the place for you (and that's okay--adults-only resorts do exist!). But if you're here for a fun, family-friendly experience, this spot delivers. The hotel and rooms were exceptionally clean, which is always my top priority. Beds and pillows were super comfortable--honestly, better than some luxury hotels we've stayed in. They provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion, which was convenient and a nice touch. One thing that really stood out was the staff--every single employee we walked past made it a point to say hello or greet us with a smile. That level of friendliness and hospitality made a big difference in how welcome we felt during our stay. The lobby offered complimentary alcoholic beverages and there was even a balloon artist who absolutely made my daughter's day. The arcade was another big hit for her--lots of games and well-maintained machines, though the prize selection could definitely be better. As for the waterpark-- they give you a discounted rate when you stay there. It was very clean and surprisingly not crowded during our visit (granted, we didn't go during peak season, which I highly recommend if you want to avoid the chaos). One downside worth noting: we did see a lifeguard near the wave pool who seemed to be dozing off, which isn't something you want to see when safety is on the line. Hopefully management addresses this. Food-wise, the onsite breakfast buffet and dining was... fine. Nothing to rave about, but not terrible either. That said, there are plenty of excellent restaurants just a short drive away, so you're not stuck with mid-tier meals unless you choose to be. And for beach lovers--there are multiple beautiful beaches nearby, which was a huge bonus for us. All in all, our family had an amazing time and we're already looking forward to coming back next year. Good for a family winter getaway with some water park fun, hotel rennovations are nice but the transition from the Cape Codder is still underway. The service is lacking - employees seem confused and disorganized. This was during NH vacation week and the hotel was not at all busy. I asked some basic questions, like "is the outdoor pool open?" and several employees did not know. I had to ask for a rollaway bed for our room four different times before it was delivered. The "balcony" view is overlooking a construction zone and not worth the extra money. Restaraunt food is decent, service is okay. The lifeguards - many seem frustrated and forget that they're working at a family waterpark. They definitely took away from the experience. I will say - the one really positive interaction I had with a staff member who really brought the "feel" of Margaritaville was with Sophia upon check out. Her disposition was cheerful, warm, and welcoming. It was a nice way to wrap up a just-okay few days. Rated a 2 instead of lower because of the room updates and pool for the kids to have some fun. This was the WORST 2025 Experience I ever had, from the horrific message to the rudeness in the swimming pool area (Dogs allowed) in this hotel who were friendlier and better behaved. the lifeguard wasn't even watching the kids jumping off the edges, sitting in the hot tub.... wake up lifeguards.... get off you f'n phone and stop twirling your stupid fake hair braids...... after we got out of the pool we went into the hot tub to prevent an accident from kids jumping off edges (also shitting in the pool was a turn off as everyone had to leave the pool for 2 hours) the lifeguard was asked by my friend " do you know the rules of the pool" answer "YA" well you obviously don't because you should be using the thing around your neck called a whistle" As my friend and I are in the hot tub the same lifeguard got off her chair and PURPOSLY SHUT THE HOT TUB OFF, AS SHE WALKED AWAY SMIRKING. VERY EXPESSIVE HOTEL not worth the aggravation and WON'T be returning despite the refund I received. read more

They said we could check in early I said we would arrive at 3. (We arrived at 4pm) When we checked in one of my rooms was ready and the other they had to check on. Nancy made me wait for 20 minutes to see if my room was ready. She gave no instructions on how to get to it. Didn't tell us there wasn't an elevator. We asked for a map of the hotel and they said they didn't have them. I was told (via text) that we would get a military discount. She said no. I even showed her the text and she said because we bought the package deal That we couldn't get any additional discounts. So rude. Mike helped us get our bags upstairs. He was great. I did ask Nancy if I could speak to the manager. She told me no he was way too busy to deal with this. Mike said he would send us a Manager but he never came. At dinner the restroom was filthy. No toilet paper, no paper towels to dry our hands with. Gross gross gross!! Monday We arrived at the water park at 1115 there were no waterpark towels available. They said it could be another hour before we could get them. It took 2 hours before we could get towels. The bathroom/locker room was disgusting. No toilet paper and towels are were laying around everywhere. I asked housekeeping for towels as our children were cold from being in and out of the water. They said no also I decided to go to the front desk to ask for towel and they said they don't keep them there. I was told I would have extra towels in our room for when we come back. Nothing. I explained how rude the woman was when I checked in and how rude the towel ladies were. She said "Well it looks like we have some more training to do." I went out and asked housekeeping who was outside our room for more towels. I was told they didn't have any and didn't think they could get more. They did not check wristband in the WP and it way to crowded since after 1 they still allowed yesterdays people to stay. Scary. We ordered food from the QVC code at the WP and she. It came it didnt have and condiments or napkins. The kids meal were missing items. It was just another let down. We will never return. read more

I booked 3 rooms through expedia and paid about $530 per room per night and I was mortified at the rooms with the waterpark view with that price!! They were muggy, smelled like mold and the bedsheets/comforters were damp/wet from the humidity! I called to change rooms but they said they were booked. The bathroom had old bandaid and dirty towel from previous guests not cleaned! I was so disappointed. We did a 5 hour drive from ny and had 3 kids under 6 and we could not get any sleep in those wet beds. I informed front desk and expedia. The front desk manager lady told me they would give 50% discount if I took down the negative review and I rewrote a review on expedia but then they decided t9 jot refund me the 50% discount!! On top it that, they overcharged my credit card for the lunch we had that I put on our room by adding an additional $43 like what on top of the $37 tip i left them!!!. I am so disgusted. The room was tidied but a half drank bottle of water was left and garbage on the bathroom floor for 4 nights. So we can't speak on the hotel at all Since the renovations- it looks like the hotel got some improvements but we have never stayed at the hotel. We have only done the water park as a day pass for the last 3 years. We do love the water park but since the change, couple of things Sounds like the staff needs to be educated about the fact that you can book your water park pass online now. Obviously a lot of kids work here and don't know this. But the fact you can book online now is awesome. The price is what i pretty much expected for a place like this. It was really cool that they had extras on hand like goggles and other things for purchase. The thing that was a little bit shocking and kind of lean is that you had to pay pretty steep $8.50 for a towel rental. I get them might be reasonings for having a towel rental but for $8.50 when it's already 60 bucks ? Something like this and items available for purchase that should all be stated as line items when you order your tickets online. Like when you check out with your tickets, have some sort of big disclaimer that says that there's a towel rental because if we knew that we would've just brought our own towels from the house rental that we had. And also have the items like goggles that you sell available online too so this way it's all in one order and there's no big surprise when you show up with the towels. As for the lazy river portion of the waterpark... It's probably one of our favorite parts however, getting out of that lazy river is like I'm fighting for my life LOL I think a few years ago we used to be able to get out at any of the entryways where they used to be a staircase midway through but now it seems like you have to get out where you enter. It's incredibly stressful and difficult to do that. Because you got that current so strong you have to literally try to grab on with absolute action movie skill to the pole that's by the entry hold onto your dear life while trying to get out of the tube that you are required to be in the entire time and then push yourself to get out. The last thing that I will say is, I know that it's a waterpark and they try to make it fun and crazy. There's this thing that the waterpark has always done that involves flickering of the lights in the place. Can you not have the lights over the tables do that because my God... When families are trying to get their exhausted, kids is exhausted parents out of the pool and trying to gather their stuff and then those blinking lights go off. It's really nauseating. I get doing the little tiny lights and the pool lights but those big long strip lights above the tables that's just not necessary either stop the blinking altogether or adjust the electricity so that only the lights by the pool do that and not the tables. Overall, it's still a fun place to go. We do this every year that we go to the Cape as pool guests but yeah, just maybe some things that you might want to change on the website and maybe electric wise if you can. read more

We had to beg for them to take our luggage, even though the website said it would store luggage. We had lunch in the Land Shark. Took 15 minutes for a server. When she finally arrived, after we asked if we could have a server, she was "confused" about her section. On to the pool.... no clean towels. Told us to come back in 30 minutes. Changing rooms were covered in dirty towels and a mess. Water slides are small. My 7 year old couldn't ride anything. Although I don't like Great Wolf Lodge bc of the price And craziness I completely would choose that over this place any day. Actually looking forward to going back there after this experience. Lastly, so far, we booked for 5 people. We have two queens. Our reservation specifically says 5. We called and were informed "they would see if a cot was available for a charge" Absolutely blown away by the price we paid and the high hopes we had. We booked one night for Christmas vacation to take our kids down and also to go with another family. The day of check-in one room was ready early and the other room was about an hour late. We headed to the water park and the kids had a decent time. Unfortunately, the two main slides were shut down early for reasons we weren't made aware of and the lights kept flickering on and off throughout the whole water park area. There were minimal lifeguards and one of them was watching over the lazy river area with sunglasses on. The wave pool area was similar in that there was only one lifeguard and not much supervision. Nobody was telling the kids went to go down the slide and seemed very chaotic. We went back to the rooms to shower to head out to dinner and there was absolutely zero hot water. This was the case at our friends room next-door as well. We got dinner at a local restaurant (not hearth and kettle- yuck!) and got a very average night sleep. The beds weren't made very well and the comforters weren't even encased from whoever used it the night before. There was no fitted sheet on the mattress just a flat sheet that kept pulling back and exposing the bare mattress. The bedframe was also creaking, and very loose. The furniture was in very rough shape. The next morning, the kids wanted to go back to the pool before we left so we got there at 10 AM when it opened. This time they were told they could not go in the lazy river, and because most of them weren't tall enough, they could not go down any of the slides. So that just left the wave pool area. Again, there was one lifeguard watching about 100 people and just total chaos it seemed. It was also disappointing The lazy river was closed and there was only one lifeguard at the bottom of the slides. Place seems very understaffed and when you're dealing with water, you absolutely need lots of lifeguards. People are paying to take the kids to the waterpark so if you can't staff it don't take people's money. The place has potential, but it's definitely run down in the hotel area and very understaffed in the water park area. The kids had fun but we will not go back. read more

Spent the weekend at the new Margarittaville Resort in Cape Cod. We were in a 2 bedroom suite and room was amazing except for the jacuzzi. I wasn't able to use the jacuzzi due items coming out of the jets. I asked housekeeping to clean it the next morning so I could use it that night but unfortunately there was more crap coming out of the jets. But on another note, the vibe of the resort was great, and the place was beautiful. Staffing was great but I can honestly say that Mike Bernard went above and beyond. Super personable and so helpful. I recently went to this resort for a night this past weekend. I did indeed bring my two dogs. They were absolutely welcoming and friendly to not only us human beings but also the pups. This hotel was very clean, and the room was gorgeous. I have to give them credit for that. On the other hand everything was extremly overpriced, and they charge for absolute everything. I did get 2 free Waterpark passes due to a misunderstanding on the phone when booking. The Waterpark includes many features. Normally the passes are $60 a day (trust me they expire)! I personally would not spend that much because it wasn't that great to me. Also on the night I stayed there was a blackout only on half of the property, when I asked what's up, they had no idea the reasoning for the blackout. I found it very frightening, but it was only for a half a minute. To conclude I enjoyed my stay! P.S - When they say that it's walking distance to downtown Hyanis, yeah that's the biggest lie ever. I stayed here with a large tour group and was really underwhelmed. We weren't in our rooms much except for sleeping, but the rooms were dirty, damp, and musty smelling. Thankfully, our room had a "dry" option on the AC along with a dehumidifier. Even with both those running full blast, all the linens and carpet in the room still felt wet. The mattresses and bed linens were dirty and all need to be replaced or deep cleaned. This was my first time in the Cape and I'm not sure if the musty smell in the rooms was to be expected being so close to bodies of water- but the smell lingered on all my clothes (even the ones I didn't wear) and my luggage. It took 2 washes to get the scent out. The breakfast buffet was good and the location was great for all of our excursions and was bus friendly. There is a mall nearby (~1 mi walk) and a some convenience/liquor stores nearby. We did not eat at the restaurant but the menu looked good. We also did not use either pools but I know staffing is an issue and the pools have been closed. It's a big resort and it looks like they are undergoing some renovations. There is a notable difference in airflow in the hallways when you get closer to the middle of the resort/main desk. Maybe we were in the older part? If that's the case I would recommend only utilizing refinished rooms. I recognize that might be a large blow financially in the immediate future, but long term I think it would benefit you greatly. Based on my experience in an old room, I would not recommend staying here. read more

We just got back from a 3 day stay. Our original room wasn't ready for over an hour after we were supposed to be able to check in. There was a mixup with our room. The online listing for the presidential suite said the room had a kitchen, but it did not. I talked to the front desk, and they were able to find me a room with a kitchen. Which was fabulous. They advertised all the amenities, but hardly any of them were available while we were visiting. Early check-in, and late check out are also not available . The spa is only open two days a week so unless you're there on Fridays and Saturdays it's not available . We tried to use the outdoor pool. We're in it for all or 20 minutes before we got kicked out so they could power wash the building so I had two very upset toddlers. We went to the waterpark. The lockers don't work, so one of us always had to stay with our stuff. You aren't allowed to bring in any food or drink, but the snack bar was closed most of the time. My family and I stayed at Cape Codder during April vacation weekend. At first, I was happy to find a waterpark with children activities for the children during the pandemic. I read on the website as well as speaking to your staff prior to our arrival about your safety precaution in accordance with COVID 19 protocol and was told to rest assured about Cape Codder's initiatives to keep customers safe. However, during our stay, when we went to the lazy river as well as the wave pool, people did not stay 6 feet apart at all. For instance, when we were in the lazy river, people jumped onto us, and came very close, not even a foot apart. I raised my concerns with the staff because while you can advocate the chlorine in the water kills the virus, people were trying to talk to one another, also trying to talk to us, not wearing masks and in very close proximity. When I raised my concerns with the staff that people did not practice social distancing, the lifeguard told me there is nothing they can do about it. On Saturday night, April 24, 2021, there was a kid who got sick in the wave pool and the wave pool was shut down, which is fine and I totally understand. However, the lazy river was already crowded and I felt like the pandemic did not even exist here!!!! Of course everyone in the wave pool came into the lazy river and it was so so crowded! As a mother, of course I would have to make the decision that is the safest for my children. Therefore, I had to pool them off all the pools and only used the pool when you guys first opened in the morning and close to closure time at night to make sure my children were safe. Even with more and more people getting vaccinated, the target audience of the resort are children and children under 12 cannot take vaccination! The unsafe practice at your resort made this audience even more vulnerable!!! The social distancing should have been enforced to make sure Cape Codder does not become a COVID cluster in the community!! During our stay, we only got to use the water activities for 3 hours in total because I cannot make my children safe alone, by myself, without the coordination of your staff and other guests. I spent a lot of money just for my children to have some activities during their April break and did not feel my money was well spent! I suggest you should have plan for allotment plan (guests reserve the time when they use the pool, wave pool or lazy river) to make sure you can cap the capacity and make sure your customers and the community are safe!! - I did write this email to Cape Coder corporate so that they can work on their protocol! However, the only response I got is they would look into it Also another feedback is for over $700 I spent for 2 nights, the pillows were suck and the blankets were so rough with so much pilling and discoloration! Even my kids who are not very picky would refuse to use the blanket as it irritated their skin. I called front desk to send another one and it was the same thing. The rooms are beautiful, but you get charged for everything! $50 per person to use the water park? $70 for breakfast?? $100 to use the "free" Wi-Fi...The water park hasn't been cleaned, never mind painted. Took the kids here during week of Presidents' Day , school vacation and it's a one and done for me. My husband and I were debating to either go here or the great wolf lodge. We decided to come here since we've been to the great wolf lodge so many times and this place is new to us. We were so excited to go and read so many good reviews online w/ news that it's under new management and recently updated. Pics of the resort and waterpark look clean and fun . When we got there, it was a total disappointment. The hotel upon entrance was new and nice. We went during school vacation so it was overly crowded . There was a line and people lounging every where in the lobby , including people in their towels and bathing suits just coming from the waterpark, looks like they were waiting for their rooms. We checked in at 1pm and were told our room is not ready and will call when ready and this could take up to 4pm . So we went to the waterpark. We waited in line for the towels for a long time in the cold lobby and when it was our turn they were able to give just 1 towel and said they ran out. We went to the waterpark, it was so small and so packed. Place must of reached its maximum capacity and the congestion stresses me out. There was no place to settle down our stuff to go into the water. We circled around the waterpark 5 times until finally spotted a family leaving and took their spot. My kids and I jumped in the lazy river. It was so packed, floats around us was hitting us everywhere , it was not fun. The wave pool was closed. I took my daughter to the kiddie pool. Again, jammed pack. Kids were running everywhere, stepping and shoving my daughter. She fell several times and hurt herself. There were cuts on her stomach and legs from falling over. After 45mins , she didn't want to play anymore as she is hurt and we wanted to leave. Place was boring and congested. My husband had to again go outside to wait in the cold lobby for more towels. Just ridiculous ! After getting our towels we just sat there to wait for a call/text for our room to be ready since front desk said they will reach out. By 3:15pm we decided to check in again at the front for our room. Our room was ready but as promised that they would contact us , they did not. I was also upset with the front desk as she checked us in she charged the wrong amount , a little over a couple of hundreds to my credit card for a card hold . She apologized and said she will refund it and that only the resort fee of $34 will show. Also, checking out the next day, another front desk lady also charged a couple hundreds to my credit card and apologized as she refunded it. I now have a pending charge of almost $500 from this resort and is waiting for it to be refunded as they say. What the heck ! The room was nice but the thermostat was broken. It was either blowing out very hot air or very cold air, nothing in between. We were so hot and uncomfortable to sleep at night. There was no microwave in our room. There was 1 microwave, a community microwave down the hall which was so inconvenient. Overall, this place needs some work still with the new updates and management. The resort is expensive for what it is as waterpark is small and boring. I rather just go to the great wolf lodge next time . The resort was not organized for the big crowd during February vacation , I was not impressed. read more
