We decided to head here for breakfast after hearing about this spot for a very long time and not living far from Aston. There were several surprises about the place when we got there, but I can't speak enough about the space and the fact that it is built into a cozy what-seems-to-be old home of some sorts. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is quaint and is a very nice place to go with a small group; the four of us having plenty of space and having a very at-home vibe while we were there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am sure that others may not understand why this didn't hit my normal recommendation but I will try to shed some light on that below. Our server WAS attentive, but almost too attentive. I know this may sound strange. However, when one is enjoying a leisurely breakfast with friends, constant interruptions become something beyond just making sure the table is taken care of and enter the domain of simply not knowing the job or being able to read the customers. This was also not someone new to the industry, but a veteran. Totally okay! Everyone has their idiosyncrasies and maybe it wasn't a great day, who knows. All that aside, everything was just bland. There was nothing inherently wrong. It just wasn't good. In fact, it was so baseline and unimpressive that I will likely not return here. It may have been the wonderful aesthetic that made me feel like I'd be getting homestyle outstanding breakfast but the whole meal just missed the mark. As I have said many times in all of my reviews, including many breakfasts/brunches, I am a soup fanatic. I will order soup with ANY meal. The chicken tortilla soup here was one of the strangest I've ever encountered, and flat out not good.....and I hate to say that because all soup is inherently good on some level. But I could not call this chicken tortilla soup, except that there was a pile of tortilla strips on top. I will still recommend you check out Towne and Country because I continue to hear so many good things, and your experience may be very different than mine, and I love to support anything local that is going good business and supporting their community. It reminds me of a wholesome diner where the food is good, not very expensive and the staff is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This place is only open for breakfast and lunch. My son got a short stack of rainbow sprinkle pancakes with whipped cream on top with a side of bacon. I got a half a cup of potato soup and a half a chicken salad sandwich. This place is a hidden gem. I always drive past this place but this time I decided to actually go inside for breakfast. They are open from 7am- 3pm and they serve breakfast and lunch. It's a cute place inside and it's spacious. The service was good. It was quick and our waitress is really nice and knowledgeable about the food. The only thing I would suggest is they add air fresheners inside of the restaurant because when we initially walked in, it had a funny smell I'm not sure if it's because they sat us near the bathroom or if something was burnt but other than that, the food taste really really good. read more

Charming place that is cozy and welcoming. We left feeling we had rediscovered a "find". First visit was breakfast and enjoyed very much and learned they make their desserts. Apple crumb pie was outstanding and only disappointment for me was they had sold out of peach crumb but no complaints. Lemon cake was super moist and delicious as well. Went back next day for lunch. I had the cheesesteak which I liked very much. I wished there was a little more cheese or it was mixed in with the steak better, but that is easily rectified. My wife enjoyed her turkey club and the strawberry shortcake. I opted for the peanut butter cake. Definitely left feeling this will be in the regular rotation. Came here after doing some Uber eats orders, saw the stars for the Yelp reviews and the pics got us. As we entered the restaurant it was very pleasant they greeted us as we entered with smiling faces and sat us down immediately. The Decor: Was great gave me a very homey, grandmas house kind of feel. It made me feel like I was back in the south loved it as well as the signs all around the restaurant that made us laugh. Not too mention a very clean bathroom as well. Drinks: I got the refillable coffee to start that started out pretty strong but the second refill the coffee was definitely watered down. This is the go-to breakfast place that my mom and I visit when I come home. I always get something different every time but on this trip, I ordered the mocha iced coffee and a breakfast burrito with a side of home fries. Despite how busy it was, our food was brought out to us pretty quickly. The coffee had just the right amount of mocha in it where the taste was not too overbearing. I used to love this place but they have lost their charm. Slow and inconsistent service and food quality; you don't know what you'll get. I can tolerate bad days for places that I like and have frequented but recently I was turned off by the rude owner after asking for my order to be fixed. It was a minor fix but she made up an excuse and said it couldn't be done. Just lazy because I knew it could easily be fixed. And when you get the bill you might be shocked (expensive and cash only). These things I can accept but not when the food is wrong, the service is slow, and the owner treats you like an idiot. I can make my own lunch and feel happier. I have had sausage gravy and biscuits all over the country and let me tell you they are right up with the best. I prefer my gravy over the home fries with a side order of grits . I have always admired and enjoyed going to restaurants with a small menu and very tight hours. We got there at 11:15. They stay open until 2:00pm. Town and Country is a very quaint restaurant and has a homey atmosphere. I really enjoyed the sandwich I had, named after local streets. There was not anything extravagant about the meal, which is why the price was acceptable. Our waitress was very sweet and very knowledgeable. She gave us the lunch special which was a beautiful green salad With fresh strawberries, pecans, cheese crumbles and a balsamic vinaigrette. She even suggested if the balsamic vinaigrette was not our style, they would substitute a raspberry vinaigrette. Turns out, she was kind enough to bring both. This is on me, I did not do my research ahead of time and it wasn't displayed with a lot of bells and whistles, but this restaurant does not accept plastic. They are a cash establishment only. I've been around Aston since the late 90s and this place always caught my eye- BUT I'VE BEEN THERE FEWER THAN FIVE TIMES!! Call me lazy, I suppose. Each time I've been to T&C I've had a super meal. I'm usually very indecisive at diners since the menu is so vast and this trip was no different- so this time I had a cup of sausage gravy, a side of bacon and an English muffin with cream cheeee and a small OJ- about $7 total.
