We decided on a Sunday evening to drive into the Village and treat ourselves to some ice cream--and…read moreapparently half of Big Bear had the same idea! The line moved quickly, and it was well worth the wait. We ordered a two-scoop waffle cone, which was absolutely humongous and incredibly delicious. The portions were generous, the ice cream was rich and flavorful, and there were so many tempting flavors to choose from that making a decision was the hardest part. The staff was friendly and efficient, the prices were reasonable, and the lively atmosphere added to the fun. It was the perfect way to end a relaxing day in the mountains. We'll definitely be back for another scoop (or two!) the next time we visit Big Bear.

Pros: * Nice enough staff. Not friendly, but when we came back for our return due to the stale flavor of the dark chocolate toffee caramel apple, she did it. * Cute store Cons: * Stale chocolate. I thought is was the toffee bits, but when I returned it and got the Dark Chocolate caramel apple it was still stale. I tried a tiny bite of apple and caramel and it was good. For sure, it's the chocolate. Not good. Especially considering how many chocolates they sell. I had already returned the first apple and it was busy. I was over it and just took the loss and threw away the apple. Extra: * Small shop. I dont recommend big parties or strollers * They are named for ice cream and fudge so maybe those are good. I cant say.

The place may be unassuming, but we were met with the friendliest service (thanks Katie!) and a plethora of delicious tea choices! This place is not like your standard Americanized boba tea shop. They offer REAL teas, made from steeping and not relying on heavy artificial flavor powders. With that said, your drink, especially milk teas, will taste lighter than an Americanized boba tea. Honey is used primarily to sweeten the drinks as well. I absolutely appreciate this practice because I love tasting the actual tea flavor. I ordered the Pumpkin Harvest milk tea and it was DIVINE! My hubby ordered the Passion Fruit green tea and it was so good too! If you're wanting something sweet and more Americanized, we were told the smoothie drinks are made with flavor powders. Also, highly recommend their hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream. Delicious!

This place did not disappoint! The selection of flavors was impressive, making it hard to choose. However, I decided on the Limoncello Sorbetto, and it turned out to be the perfect choice! It was just what I needed on a hot sunny day. The staff were friendly and attentive. Allowing me to sample different flavors . If you're in Big Bear and craving something fresh & sweet, definitely stop by A Ran Ju Gelato & Teahouse for a delightful treat!

But I'll start with what's good, pizza taste great. The vibe inside and out is great and service is good as well. Restaurant was clean and was appealing to all the senses. The bad we ordered a single topping 1/2 n 1/2 and when it came out they missed the 1/2 topping on one side. They took it back and just threw the missing topping and brought it back out. Obviously it didn't taste the same as if it was baked from the get go and was a little cold by the time they brought it back out. Now the garlic bread, just don't buy it. We ordered a two piece and I assumed it would be a half a French bread loaf. What came out was so disappointing that you could only laugh. I kid you not it looked like half a hot dog bun. Yup one side of a hot dog bun with garlic butter and a ketchup cup with sauce to dip it in. I do believe, I'd give them a second chance if I'm being honest but my first visit is the only mulligan they'll get. Next time I will not accept a pizza made incorrectly or order the garlic bread.

A few days before the event, I called to order an 8-inch cake and was originally told I could order one and when I called back to put the order in I was told they couldn't make one because they had already baked several 6-inch and 7-inch cakes and needed to sell those first. They suggested purchasing a 7-inch cake along with cupcakes to ensure there was enough for everyone, which seemed reasonable, so we went ahead with their recommendation. We requested pastel decorations and birthday writing for the occasion, paid in advance, and arranged for pickup around 3:00 p.m. on the day of our 4:00 p.m. party. Unfortunately, when my sister arrived around 3:30 p.m., the cake still wasn't ready, causing a significant delay. She eventually received the cake and cupcakes and rushed back to our cabin, arriving late to the surprise party. Shortly after she got back, the bakery called me and informed us that they had accidentally given her the wrong cake and asked us to return it. The cake she received was beautiful, decorated with flowers and a lavender drip design, but it was the wrong flavor and a smaller size than what we had ordered. We were then told that our actual cake was still at the bakery, but it was completely plain white, with none of the pastel decorations or writing we had requested. At that point, the party had already started, and instead of greeting family and friends who had traveled from Los Angeles for this special occasion, we were dealing with a very stressful cake situation. To their credit, the bakery was kind and tried to make things right. They allowed us to keep the cake we had received and delivered additional cupcakes to compensate for the smaller size. Most importantly, every single dessert was delicious. The cake was moist, the cupcakes were fantastic, and everyone enjoyed them. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of communication and apparent miscommunication among staff, which created a lot of unnecessary stress during a milestone celebration. The baked goods themselves were excellent, but I hope they can improve their organization and order management because the quality of their products truly deserves it.

But I'm really glad we trusted our gut, because our experience couldn't have been more positive. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and treated with kindness and respect. The person working was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about all the products, and offered us samples of anything we were curious about. We felt genuinely welcomed and appreciated as customers. Now, the snacks absolutely incredible. The beef jerky was packed with flavor and so fresh, easily some of the best we've ever had. We also picked up corn nuts that were super flavorful and crunchy, chocolate-covered peanuts that were perfectly sweet, chamoy gummy worms with just the right balance of sweet and spicy, and butter toffee peanuts that were rich and addicting. Everything we tried was top-tier. We left happy, with bags full of treats and zero regrets. It's unfortunate that others may have had a different experience in the past, but ours was truly excellent from start to finish. Highly recommend checking this place out!
