Went there for the first time today on 11/15/15 and it was amazing. It's a cute little place and the food was delicious. Can't wait to go back there again. I had a meatball sub and pizza fries with cream crab soup and it was so good. My husband had a slice of lasagna and that was amazing as well. Definitely recommend this place to people. read more

Let's start with trying to help this business understand by definition what caterer means. 1. one whose business is to provide food, supplies, and sometimes service at social gatherings. I'm in a profession that uses catering quite often and have been in my line of work for 13 yrs. I've never received such poor service. I ordered almost $500 worth of food for a lunch time delivery planning to feed 40 people. The order was placed 5 Days in advance so you would think that with that amount of money being spent and sufficient lead time to get prepare that the delivery would be flawless if you were a reputable business. Not so. On the day of the event the driver calls me when he arrives at the location which happened to be a hospital in Baltimore and asks me if I have a cart to roll the food in! Since when does a caterer not have the minimal proper tools to do the job. Oh wait, it gets better. I arrive at the location to find not one serving spoon, tong, or fork to dish the food. There isn't a single plastic spoon, fork or knife to eat with, cup to drink with, plate to put it on or a napkin to wipe with. Can I kindly remind you now that I have 40 healthcare professionals now waiting to eat? I run down the street to the 7-11 and grab all the utensils, etc and while on the way I call the "manager" and I use that term in describing his professionalism very loosely. First, he tells me that I didn't request utensils! I said it was first time using them and that the girl who took my order never mentioned it. He then says well we thought the hospital would have them. I said oh yeah then what about the serving tools. You expect them to have that has well. He had no reply and at this point the conversation ended abruptly with me hanging up on him because he obviously could care less and wanted to assume or blame everyone else but himself or his crew. The food was ok but let's be real, it's pasta, salad and pizza the type of grub you could get elsewhere all over Bmore and I highly suggest you do just that...go elsewhere. read more

Food is decent late night eats. I usually have pizza or the chicken gyro. Food is always served fresh and is never cold or dry. The owner is very sweet and is always there working which I find commendable. read more

The pizza at this place is so bad. No flavor, soggy crust even on a fresh whole pie order. Horrible pizza and service. Double charged my credit card and my friends at the same time after swearing they only charged one. Then argued with me that my card was not charged. I'm still trying to figure out why I was just treated so awfully. I've ordered Maria D's well over 100 times. They were my go-to(until today) for pizza, salads and wings delivered. I placed an order today and was given a delivery time about 40 min out. I waited an additional 30 min to call and ask about my order. At this point, it was over an hour. The girl on the phone was incredibly rude for me simply asking the status of my order. She responded it was out for delivery. I said fine. I waited 20 more minutes(I live 6 blocks away) and was now frustrated. I called back and the same rude girl said my order was out for delivery. I said I'd like to cancel because I was lied to. She hung up. I actually thought it was a mistake, until I called back again and she picked up and hung up. I called back AGAIN, and she picked up and immediately put me on hold without saying anything. After a couple minutes I hung up and called back. Hung up on again. I just wanted to confirm it was cancelled. I waited a few, called back, and got a different girl. She told me she'd cancel and then hung up. No apology or anything. I wasn't rude at all. I don't get it. I was so frustrated that I called GrubHub to confirm it was cancelled, and and it wasn't. They cancelled my delivery and tried to keep the money. I'm so shocked by this treatment, I don't even get it. I'll never order here again. read more

The food in this place is always so good. I really enjoy the wings, The delivery service is excellent.

The pizza is good, but I would only eat there during the day. If you go at night, it is filled with drunken fraternity types, who argue with any patron standing in close proximity to them. The place has no control beyond the desk, nor do they even try to provide security. For decent pizza, you can suffer through it! read more

Went here for lunch. I was only looking for a light sub. Debated between the pizza sub or the steak and mushroom and ended up going with the steak and mushroom. Glad I did. It was awesome! I think there was melted chedder in there, and I'm not really a fan of chedder, but there wasnt so much that it overwhelmed the sandwich. The ingredients in the sandwich were simply perfect together. I think I even tasted a bit of tabasco sauce in there; whatever it was, I loved that extra kick. My only complaint would be the bread; it got a big soggy on one end. Other than that, I loved my sandwich. It was a really good size too. I was only able to eat half. I saved the other half for later. Maria's is a good and cheap place to have lunch. Late night take-out joint that used to be respected for its pizza, but no longer - it's super-greasy and not very flavorful. Subs can be passable but aren't great. I've had some semi-average food and some horrible food here. It's OK for when nothing else is open. Cheesesteaks are really not good here. read more

Okay, so I realize you don't go to Maria D's for the food or the service. But, really, when you order a cold cut sub, don't you expect it to consist of something besides bread and meat? We made the mistake of not checking our order before leaving, and when we got back to our hotel room, we were so disappointed to find a completely naked sub. No lettuce, no tomato, no mayonnaise on the sub that I ordered--WITH EVERYTHING!!! So, that sucked. And the pizza is crap here. It's great at 2AM when you are buzzed and have the munchies. But take that same pizza and try to eat it in the light of day, and you'll be disturbed that you actually eat this stuff (with abandon) when drunk. And the people there are rude no matter what time of day you go, so I can't even give them a break for the attitude at 2AM. So, enjoy your 2AM pizza, but you might want to check ANYPLACE else out if you are looking for food at 2PM. read more

Maria D's food is pretty good. I was a little mad when I had earned enough points online to get a free 18 inch pizza and had to have a $12 order for it to be delivered. I had called them that day about it and the way they handled the entire situation was very bad. Their customer service is very poor. They have a tough time with customer service and seem to ignore that part of their business. I will give them three stars instead of two because the quality and taste of their food exceeds my expectations. Just don't ever expect a thank you or have a nice day from these guys. read more

Their Greek salads are the best in town-- with a wonderful, creamy house dressing that makes you want to kiss bottled dressing goodbye, forever! These guys are great! Some might be turned off by their lack of attention but they are definitely entertaining; even if you don't understand a word they say. Take a seat near the window so you can watch the street traffic since this is a very interesting area of town. Make sure to try the spinach pie with a salad, wash it down with a half-and-half (lemonade and tea). read more

I had a very bad experience. I ordered my food online through grub hub and I received my order confirmation through my email on what I ordered and what time it was coming... Any how the food came and it was not the food I ordered at all. Some how my co workers food she ordered the day before came instead. I called them the first time to let them know what happened, they hung up and I wasn't finished talking. The second time I called the man was very nasty to me, yelling at me saying it was my fault I got the wrong order not theirs!! I was so shocked at him yelling at me and blaming me for a glitch in their system and never apologized. I wanted my money back and wanted to be done with them. Horrible experience. read more
