I am visiting from California and love my taquerias. I had low expectations of an Oregon taqueria, but we wanted quick and Mexican. I love this place! The food was good taqueria food. I got a cheese enchilada plate and chips and salsa, and my friend ordered a super burrito. I loved my meal and he said his was ok, but had been married to a Hispanic woman who's mother was an excellent cook. He did like the salsas especially and fresh-made flour tortilla and said he would order it again, but without the rice. The staff and service were great, and we came early enough so we didn't have to take it to go (we didn't want to be around lots of people). It's not as good as a true Mexican restaurant, but it is an excellent taqueria. Ambiance was pleasant. read more

Racist af and will talk sh@t in Spanish if they think you won't understand. Over a year ago I tried this place and had ordered a chorizo burrito. It was the best burrito I'd had in a long time! I was super excited to bring my husband in today and have him try the food. Well the stop started out bad as a couple customers in the parking lot were staring at me HARD and making me feel extremely uncomfortable. We let the one guy in ahead of us and he ordered. When it was our turn, I asked for chorizo sopes. Between the guy who'd just walked in, the lady taking my order, and the lady behind the counter, they were being derogatory and disrespectful about me ordering the chorizo (I didn't understand them but my husband did) and told me they didn't have chorizo. So I ordered sopes de cabeza and chips and "salsa" instead and stepped aside for my husband to order. He ordered in Spanish and their faces dropped and they shut up real quick. But it didn't end there. We received a partitioned paper plate with a few chips in the large portion, beans in a small portion and pico de gallo in the other. We sat wondering if it had been spat in and if they thought it was funny to sell us salsa and serve us pico de gallo. Every time I looked behind the counter they were smirking or giggling in our direction. When they brought out the sopes, they very clearly weren't cabeza. They looked like pulled pork, not even carnitas. My husband told them I ordered cabeza, not pork and they bold face lied and said it was cabeza. Between the sh@t talking, smirks, giggles, and wondering if there was spit in our food, we left. Left the food, didn't even wait for the tacos my husband ordered. I'm appalled and wholly disappointed that this place that I got a delicious chorizo burrito from one time has left such a bad taste in my mouth when I came back. I will never go there again, unfortunately. If you don't want to be made fun of in Spanish (and you're not clearly Mexican-looking), I would avoid this place like the plague! read more

We love Maria's Taqueria!! This place has the best tamales, I think I have a new addiction. The cheese and jalapeño is my favorite. We usually go to the third street location but I am sitting at the Main Street location. It is a great atmosphere and very clean. But the food is the main draw because it is PHENOMENAL!! If you haven't tried this place yet do yourself a favor and stop by today! read more

Stopped here for a quick bite on the way out of town. My girlfriend and I both ordered the veggie burrito, and an horchata and chips and salsa to share. It wasn't until we checked the receipt that we realized the horchata was $5 and the chips were 4. Keep in mind the burritos were 7.50 the horchata itself was decent, but the chips were such a puny serving with a small side of beans and pico. Insulting prices when that same amount in a good restaurant would be complimentary. The burritos themselves were perfectly mediocre, there are much, much better burritos in the area. The only saving grace here was the salsa selection, which was extensive and each one was pretty great. But all in all, a very disappointing experience. Save your time and go somewhere else read more

Stopped because of the positive reviews. We were there for really surprised. It's like express Chinese only Mexican. Served on plastic with plastic fork and knife. Service was quick and friendly but the food was poor quality. My enchiladas came soggy with a weak sauce, cold half cooked retried beans and cool rice. The table sauce was very watery. Most of the meals were more than $10. This is not a good value and I can not recommend it. Check the health rating. We failed to. read more

Since finding this place, I've eaten here damn near everyday during lunch at work. Their tortillas are hand made and pressed right in front of you after ordering. The carnitas is their best meat on their menu in my opinion. It's flavorful, and crispy. This might be the best Mexican food in Oregon. read more

I am baffled by the 4.5 stars. We had nachos and tamales. The nachos looked beautiful when they arrived, but one bite killed that illusion. Underneath the lovely looking toppings, the chips were smothered by horrible canned nacho cheese sauce, blech. The carne asada was chewy and gristly and had terrible seasoning too. The tamales were dry, dry, dry, and the masa had an odd texture as well. So disappointed. read more

Tucked behind the Subway restaurant on Hwy 101 in Tillamook, you will find Maria's Taqueria #2. (Their other location is near the fair grounds.) If you like street tacos, you will love Maria's. I order the carnitas tacos with their homemade horchata to drink. Wonderful! Transports back me to our vacations in Mexico where we are always on the hunt for great food. So happy we found Maria's.
