This place used to be a must go to on the weekends and for me it didn't matter how far it was because it was always worth it. Today we made the drive over there and brought it back home and when I opened the box for the burrito it looked like a bean and cheese burrito from Taco Bell. When I took a bite it tasted like a frozen burrito that you warm up in the microwave. Can't believe how disappointed I am with this place. For the first time ever, I walked into a coffee shop and was unable to make a choice because I wanted to try everything! Was recommended to try the caramel flan latte WHICH I LOVED! My husband got the churro latte which was also yummy and has a similar taste to a spanish latte. We couldn't help ourselves and tried some of their pan dulce (try the churro crumb cake). I love this place! I have been coming to Mariachi since the Norwalk location since it opened. I am saddened by the change in quality and need to change so much so quickly. Within the matter of a few weeks we saw the menu change several times. These new items were great and I loved them, today when I visited I was excited to see the drive thru opened but decided to still go inside to place my order. I was surprised that the menu had changed again and some items are not available anymore like the pitaya iced tea. The saddest part for me is that we can no longer make customization to the food. I ordered my go to burrito and they no longer allow you to remove the cheese. As a lactose person I was really bummed that I can't enjoy the food I really like the same anymore and hope we are able to get the option still in the future. read more

As a Norwalk resident, I'm disappointed that it took me this long to give Mariachi Bakery a try. I always pass by it on my way to the gym and every time I always turn and look in its direction. Today I was coming back from the Doctors office and wanted a cold drink. The inside is very spacious with generous outdoor seating as well. Lots of Mexican pastries as well as Horchata Tres Leches, Red velvet tres leches and other cakes. They also serve hot food. I ordered strawberry tres leches which was very refreshing on this hot July day. I also bought the Birria empanada and let me just say that was really good. Delicious!! I was so excited to find a Mexican coffee spot. I am so tired of overpriced Starbucks that don't even pay fair wages to their employees. This is a gem of a place with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. The place is family owned that serves authentic coffees, pastries and food items. The Mexican hot chocolate, cafe they olla and marzapan frappe are perfect and not too sweet. The conchas are so soft and yummy. Avoid the Drive-Thru! Service is incredibly slow and I seemed like no one was working the drive thru. The line was long and no one was in the window completing orders. When they finally showed up, my order was wrong but I couldn't wait another 10 minutes for it to be fixed so I took off. Do not recommend their drive thru. read more

It does get pretty packed, so seating might be a little hard to find but there is a lot of parking. I got a hot Cafe De Olla, I don't know if they gave me someone else's drink or what but it tasted more like an horchata latte hot, but it was really packed so understandable mix up. I got one of breads shaped as a pig, (don't know how spell ur in Spanish) but they heat it up and was really good. They people do help you to pick stuff out, but if it's packed know what you want to order. Also I recommend Iced drinks because it comes out piping hot. read more

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago. The pastries are wonderful and fresh. I got the guava cheese and it was delicious. My husband had the almond croissant and it was amazing. My son tried the horchata tres leches cake and unfortunately it was really dry. We also tried the iced strawberry matcha latte and the horchata cold brew and they were both fantastic. First off the food was so tasty. It was hard for me to pick which was my favorite between the three things we got. The empanada was beautifully flakey and buttery, the chorizo sandwich was delicious and the burrito was cheesy and wrapped perfectly. They all paired well with the pickled onions and salsa they give you too, specifically the onion. The bakery side of things were just as great especially because they were freshly made. We also got to try the pumpkin concha which is by far my favorite type of concha and something I never knew I needed. There's no picture because it was the first thing we ate and absolutely worth it even though it was small. The people behind the counter were helpful and orderly even though it was very busy and hectic when we got there but they handled it all so well. The inside was nothing to really brag about but the outside was much nicer since there was plenty of shade and different seating arrangements. My only real gripe with this place was the coffee; which was good but I got a pumpkin spice latte and my wife got an abuelita mocha and quite frankly I couldn't taste a difference between the two and neither could she. I'm not sure if they got our drinks wrong or if it was just how they make it but regardless the coffee was disappointing. All in all the coffee wasn't the star of the show but the food and bakery were and they excelled in those two points. read more

I went on Labor Day for the 2nd time ever and I have to say the team working did a phenomenal job with the amount of volume of customers that day. Line was literally wrapped inside the building and they worked efficiently to keep it moving. I actually ordered online while I was in line and it took about the same amount of time as the people that were in line before me. They did run out of the pumpkin spice conchas that I ordered but offered a substitution or I could wait approx 10 more min so I opted for the mazapan conchas which were good. Also ordered a dulce de leche cheesecake that they ran out of but subbed it with the mocha hazelnut which was tasty. Chile relleno burrito and birria empanada were solid. Pumpkin cream cold brew was meh, I'll stick to their horchata cold brew or abuelita cold brew next time. read more

I visited the bakery in the early afternoon. Young adults are working there. Good customer service. Ordered a Mexican Mocha Latte. The drink tasted like any other mocha latte. It did have a slight taste of cinnamon; however, I was expecting a twist to the taste. The pan dulce was ok. I ordered two coffee cakes, a concha and a payaso. The coffee cake and concha were not fresh. I believe the breads are overpriced. I did have to wait 15 mins for my drink. read more

I don't know who's in charge of the recipes but stop rationing your matcha and put more. Matcha isn't supposed to be a super light color drink. Yours tastes like it came straight out of a cow's udder and mixed with some green food dye. I also tried it with the pumpkin spice Concha which like all of your other reviews said, was pretty stale and old. You guys cannot be selling old stale conchas when your demographic is mainly Latinos because we all grew up eating good fresh authentic conchas; and on top of that overcharging when the quality and size does not come close to the price. This place has very good cold brew, some of the best I've tried, I've been here a few times and I get a hot coffee and a cold coffee every time. The frappes were a little too sweet for my taste but everything else I've tried has been delicious. Horchata, mazapán and abuelita lattes are delicious. Café de olla with sweet cream very good and the abuelita and horchata cold brew are really good. The young lady that works up from is amazing, she makes great recommendations and is very helpful. The ambiance is nice, there's a lot of nods to mariachi from the old days and they have mariachi music on loop. My wife and I were incredibly psyched to come here.. for that last couple of months I had been sending her posts from Mariachi bakery on IG. Unfortunately our coffees were not good at all. Her cafe con leche tasted nothing of coffee. My mazapán cold brew was so strong and tasted nothing like mazapán. Our pan dulce was stale and just did not taste great. I was so disappointed to say the least. I was so ready to post all over IG and hype this place up but I just can't recommend them. I hope their food is better as I saw many people order the food including sheriffs deputies. And you know cops know where to find good food. The employees were really nice and even laughed with me and my wife as I mispronounced my coffee order. I have to also add that the restroom was atrocious. Questionable brown stain on the seat that my wife noticed and decided not to use the facilities. I hate writing this review but I had to say something. I'm so sorry, I don't intend to offend the staff or owners but I expect more, especially as a Mexican American myself. Maybe we will return and try something else but who knows.. read more
