The service was 10/10. The owners were incredibly kind and took the time to walk me through step-by-step how to make my favorite drink at home. I was even able to purchase the loose-leaf tea to recreate it myself! They had actually discontinued that particular tea, but he still helped me out, which I truly appreciated. I tried the Banana Nut Latte and it is SO good. It's an herbal tea-based drink, super flavorful and cozy. I also love that you can customize your sweetness level or keep it completely sugar-free. Im not from the area, but work brought me to this side of town. And I'm so happy it did. I had been craving a golden latte for so long, and when I saw it on the menu, I knew I had to have it. It was by far one of the best golden lattes I had had in a long time. Perfectly sweetened with agave syrup and just enough spice to make you feel like you were getting the most comforting hug. The Place had loud hip hop music, I had my 3 kids with me and of course 2 of them were running around since there was only 2 persons in the place with headphones on. While waiting for over 10 mins, an employee came up to us and told us we needed to keep the kids on one side and basically calm.. Maybe the chai and matcha would've been better had it been colder. I asked for iced but maybe the ice melted because the temp was little cooler than lukewarm. I've known about Homeboy industries before and was so cool to see that they sell their pastries! For those who don't know, they train/hire individuals who were incarcerated and teach them job skills I docked a star because it just took too long. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this tea house!! It's such a charming and welcoming establishment. I was immediately drawn in by the music that was playing. Can't ever go wrong with early 2000's rnb. Now, back to the tea: There were so many options to choose from and I wasn't sure what to get. The owner made some amazing recommendations so I went with an iced green tea mixture of some herbal teas he put together. I also purchased a hot tea for a friend who was a little under the weather. I love that the wall has a list of premade tea options and what they're good for. It wasn't very busy so while he made my teas we had a chance to make small talk and chat about kids, life and travel. Wow, this is such a hidden gem, and I want nothing but the best for this shop! We ordered a masala chai with oat milk after seeing a picture on Yelp, and my god it was delicious. I also asked our cashier what she recommended for a fruity tea, and she recommended the Hawaii Fruit with lemonade. Again, super delicious and refreshing! Their tea, shop, and employees are phenomenal. I am telling everyone about this place, especially all of my coworkers. I have tasted and shared the immunity tea multiple times. The atmosphere was calm & quiet - the music was relaxing and the teas were enjoyable. I'm a huge fan of cold teas and each of the flavors chosen were delightful. Tea flight flavors chosen - peach oolong, holy detox, Hawaiian fruit & pomegranate. My faves of the four was the peach oolong and Hawaiian fruit tea. Each of them weren't too sweet and were light. I appreciated the variety of sweetener offerings- monk fruit, agave and peach syrup. I found this place shortly after moving to this area and I'm glad I did! They specialize in a pretty good variety of high quality teas, ranging from black, green, oolong, white, non-caffeinated fruity and rooibos. I've mainly had their oolongs, like the silky oolong and milky oolong, and I love both. They're subtle and naturally sweet, and the milky oolong really tastes like milk. The flavor of the teas are good enough that you don't need any sweetener, I think sweetener might actually overpower it. I also really liked the peach oolong as a milk tea with oat milk (they don't have whole milk unfortunately but do have a lot of alternatives). I enjoyed the gunpowder green tea and white silver needle tea as part of a tea flight (which is cool and I recommend it as a way of trying a lot of different teas at once). It's possible to buy containers of their tea loose leaf. I love the aesthetic here too, it's calming and cute. I especially like sitting on the squishy couches and relaxing there. Also, I wouldn't listen to the negative reviews, I've been here quite a few times and while some people are more knowledgeable than others, it always helps to ask specific questions. Not every person working there is going to have tried all their teas. And it can take longer to prepare than your average boba shop because they're making the tea from scratch. I will continue to stop by and try all their teas. It's healthier than getting boba and the flavors don't disappoint :) read more

What a hidden gem! It's so rare to find an actual loose-leaf, hand crafted tea place. This place checks all the boxes - incredible, unique, handcrafted brewed tea beverages, good fair price, welcoming atmosphere, and great customer service. I tried the matcha jasmine vanilla latte, and it was phenomenal. It was very tea forward, super flavorful, and well balanced with the vanilla. I also love that you have the option to add sweetness, but don't have too. They offer honey, agave, and monkfruit. They also have a bunch of non-dairy options. Always down for some good, natural, loose leaf tea, and Zen's is a full send. Located in a tiny strip mall, Zen's is a diamond in the rough with great loose leaf herbs and teas are just built different. When you enter, there's a distinct smell of aromatic tea, herbs, and spices in the air. Perfect. At first the menu can be overwhelming but really it boils down to their special sweet drinks, pure teas, and milk. Be sure to ask about the drink, for example, milky oolong isn't actually milk + tea, so double check before you buy. They are helpful in helping you choose your drink, and may give you an option not listed on the menu which was cool. They also offer pure bags of tea, but IMO these are pretty pricey so I stuck with their much more reasonable $4 (small)-$5 (large). Lastly, I like how "off-menu" you could get. You can add stuff like agave, change up your drink more than your typical spot. It's cool and I like that little detail. I ordered the Matcha Lemonade, Golden Milk, and Jasmin Green tea. Matcha Lemonade: 5/5 I originally was going to get a matcha tea with something sweet and the lady recommended matcha lemonade which wasn't on the menu. Intrigued, I went with it and glad I did. I love matcha, and it can get overwhelming, but this had a nice balance between the matcha and sweet lemonade, not too strong in either direction. The matcha wasn't bitter but was bold enough for its presence to be noticed. At $4-5, it's reasonable. If I have to recommend a drink here, IMO it'd be this one. Golden Milk: 3.5/5 IMO their weakest drink, even though according to the lady it was their most popular. It's sweet, and I think it has ginger and turmeric. Personally I thought that the cinnamon was too strong for me. Definitely clears up your sinuses your throat, but it's not my preference. I recommend mixing it more if you want a softer cinnamon taste to it. . Note that this doesn't have caffeine if you need yours. Jasmine Green tea: 5/5 Strong af loose leaf pure tea at a good price is a plus for me, and it hits hard. Definitely not for everyone, but a nice caffeine rush if you want it. Default is not sweetened, just pure, unalduterated tea. Customer service was pretty good, and are knowledgeable in both drinks and mixes. Overall, I left pretty satisfied. read more
