Happened to stop in Lonoke on a long road trip and this place was just across the street from our hotel. Having just come from Texas we were skeptical, but very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We shared Fajitas Jalisco, which were delicious. Lots of beef and chicken, but only 5 shrimp. If you have a bigger appetite, stick to the beef/chicken combo fajitas instead. Had to ask for additional tortillas, but the service was fast and friendly. Their flan was light and flavorful, a perfect ending to the meal. I'll make sure to stop here on future road trips! read more

We were staying at the hotel across the street and wanted somewhere close for a quick dinner. What a wonderful surprise to find such tasty food and good margaritas too!!! Service was fast, friendly, and spot on. We would definitely stop here again if traveling this stretch of I-40. read more

Ok this place is a terrible excuse for Mexican food. The beef chimichangas were LOADED with pico and the chicken had the taste and consistency of canned tuna. The enchiladas were disgusting and the enchilada sauce was terrible. I honestly don't see how other people have rated 4 and 5 stars because this place is just pathetic. Stopped here on way back from Texas to Michigan. Good move. Four of and we all got different items and every person was happy. Waiter was very good and even brought us extra salsas. The table mild has a great flavor. The hot had heat, green was fresh tasting but the best was the mole salsa. Had a surprising chocolate flavor we didn't expect because he just brought it without us asking. It also was the hottest of the four we tried. Highly recommended this place. read more

I am really shocked at all the great reviews this place got - maybe we went on a bad day? We were traveling to Dallas and really craving some mexican food. We should've walked right back out when upon entering it strongly smelled of SEWAGE. The service was great and the people were friendly, however, the food was HORRIBLE. When I say horrible, I mean barely edible. The guac had ZERO taste - like they mashed an avocado and threw it in a bowl. Even after i liberally salted and peppered it, it still wasn't fit to eat. I wanted a chicken enchilada with sour cream sauce. That's normal, right? Nope, they don't have sour cream sauce so I got a cheese enchilada with chili con carne. I SWEAR it was ragu sauce they just poured on there and zero flavor in the cheese enchilada. No onions, nothing - just cheese melted between a corn tortilla w/Ragu spaghetti meat sauce poured over it. It was AWFUL. My son got the chicken quesadillas and they didn't even cut it - just one big tortilla folder over cheese and chicken - or shall i say frozen and warmed up repeatedly chicken. He said it was the worst thing he'd ever tasted. When I complained to the cashier, she just laughed. No comp, no sorry, no "let me get the manager" nothing. When I complained about the sewage smell, she laughed again and said she was immune to it. Horrible horrible horrible!!! read more

Traveling thru back to Cali and found this fantastic Mexican restaurant!! Who knew!?! That Lonoke, AR would have such great food!! We had the Hawaiian Nachos, Razorback Fajitas, and the Burrito Oso all of which were fantastic!! Definitely recommend if you are passing thru!! read more

We stayed at the Hampton Inn across the street, on our way from Austin to New York. The hotel recommended Mariachi so we ordered fajitas to go, since the county is dry and we had wine in the room. Food was fast and plentiful and very good. The best fajitas ever? Maybe not but the best for miles around here. read more

Excellent service and great food. Portion was huge - we ordered a dinner for 2 and had enough for 2 more meals. A pleasant surprise to find this restaurant in this little Arkansas town. Would certainly come back when traveling in this part of the country. read more

My wife and I stopped overnight at the Hampton Inn across the street from Mariachi Grill. Read the yelp reviews before walking over to eat there, felt like it would be a decent experience. It turned out to be decent, barely, thus the 2 stars. I think the place stays in business because there are 3 major chain hotels in walking distance of their restaurant, and there is no other competition nearby for folks in hotels that don't want to hassle with driving several miles to find a place to eat. Was the food good? Not really, very mediocre. Was it priced fairly? Not really, at 10 bucks a plate I expected more quality and quantity. Was the service fast? Yes. Was the service friendly? No! Our server was a middle aged lady that was obviously part of the family that owns the place, as she bustled about ordering the other younger employees around. Thing is, she never smiled once at us, never acted as if she valued our business, she barely looked at us. OK, no big deal, she wasn't friendly.....but then she never returned to refill our drinks or ask us if we needed anything. I wanted more salsa and as she walked by I gestured to her and spoke to her and she walked right by, acted as if she didn't see me.....maybe she didn't, she sure wasn't paying attention to us. I flagged down another server to get the salsa. So the service was really very poor and unfriendly, at least in our case. The food came quickly though, and was hot. I had beef tenderloin burritos, it was two smallish burritos stuffed with semi tough beef and came with rice and beans, I don't recommend it. Not very big portions and not very good. My wife had Enchiladas Verde, which was a much larger plate of food but the chicken was sort of a watery, boiled texture. Also not recommended. So whatever anyone else says about this place, we are impartial travelers that passed through, and we were left thinking "this place is extremely average" and we suspect it doesn't get any repeat business, just people staying in the hotels coming in because it is convenient. And that is probably why the help wasn't interested in being friendly, they pegged us as one time customers and didn't want to bother with us much. read more
