My whole family loves Mariachi Loco! The staff/owners are so friendly and helpful. The food is always delicious and fast (we eat here several times a month and can't remember a bad experience). Just this past fall (2013) they gave the whole place, inside and out, a fresh paint job and some new decor which makes the place even better aesthetically speaking. Visited there after reading some good reviews of the place. Place is lively, full of loud music, and got seated right away. Order didn't take long to come out. Drinks were good, considering I ordered a Margarita, which most places should know how to make. Food was okay, a little bit heavy on the cheese over the rice, but still good. The Fajitas lost the flavor. I went there for Fajitas and I have had them there and enjoyed them very much. Tonight there was no fajita flavor. I think I was just served Cane Azada with pollo and was charged for the fajitas. I feel like they owe me $5.00. Here is what they are missing-- 2 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 jalapeno pepper, minced 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped 2 limes, juiced 1 teaspoon sugar 2 tablespoons olive oil Add these few ingredients and you might have your fajitas back-but never me. First time visit, arrived before 6pm on a Friday nite and didn't have a problem getting a table. The salsa that came with the free chips was too mild for my liking. Would be nice to have a hotter version too. This is a first Mexican restaurant I've been to that doesn't have a variety of hot sauces on the table to use, so that was disappointing. Even Taco Johns provides hot sauce!! I ordered the chile verde, which was good. My husband had a shrimp chimichanga and he seemed to enjoy it even though the shrimp inside were tiny. I was visiting someone at the University of Wisconsin River Falls last night and we all went to dinner. Across the street is this place. Small place, maybe seats 50. Food was good. I got a burrito and it was literally 12" long. Stocked with chicken, they didn't skimp on that at all. Fresh stuff. Not the best mexican I have ever had, though certainly not the worst. This place is the best place to eat at in River Falls. Being a college student at the River Falls University, I have many opportunities to dine in town. I have been to a lot of places, but Mariachi Loco is my favorite place to eat in town. The service is friendly and very fast! You usually receive your food within 5-10 minutes of ordering. There is not a thing on the large menu that is not good. The portions are large and typically cost between $6-$10, which is nothing for such good Mexican food. I highly recommend eating here. The only negative thing I can think of is the hot sauce is too mild. read more

This place was pretty decent, the food was good, but kind of a college town dive, where the owner is so used to not caring because the patrons are mostly here for their liquid dinner. The margaritas were like any other, mixed in the Icee machine with too little booze and too much fruit flavor. The waitstaff was probably the best thing about this place. A very good experience for the most part. Fast, attentive service, chips & salsa were marginal, a minor mistake on our drink order that was really no big deal. Food was very good, and they put together a nice little birthday wish to my Dad that wasn't ridiculous or over the top (he was shocked that his birthday shot was Cuervo and not some fruity girly shot- which was kind of funny itself). We had a big group and they took care of us very nicely without reservations.
