Azul Tequila is THE BEST. Their staff is absolutely incredible. Our family has been going here for years and they are always super friendly and so efficient! Their chimichanga is fantastic and my daughter is in love with the queso and chips. I myself enjoy the chicken soup on a cold evening with a refreshing cucumber margarita. I love the authentic Mexican decor and the spacious custom wood booths. Especially so my 6 year old can't crawl over them and bug the other patrons. read more

I was here with a group of six for lunch on a Sunday. The decor inside was festive, and the restaurant was very clean. The entrees we ordered were: Zarape, Azteca Special, Quesadilla Ranchera, Enchiladas Mexicana, Chimichanga, and Kid's Taco. The portions were large and everyone really enjoyed their food. I had the Azteca Special and the steak and chicken were tender, the shrimp was cooked just right, and the dish was seasoned to perfection overall. The only drawback was that our waitress was nonexistent when we needed utensils and refills on drinks and tortilla chips. We'll definitely be back the next time we are in town. read more

We gave eaten here numerous times. The food is somewhat similar to what we get in Texas but not quite as authentic. The food is usually tasty and is brought out quickly. We stopped the other night and had dinner. The Mexican tacos and my wife's chimichanga were very good. Except for the chorizo in my tacos. You really need to drain the grease from chorizo. It wasn't. Our waiter was at best adequate. We told him we wanted a minute to look at the menu. When we ready to order he was nowhere to be found. We asked another waiter if he could take our order and he went and got our waiter. Same thing happened when we wanted to pay. Dude I know it's a crappy job but that's not my fault. One other thing. Why are Mexican restaurants always made with hard surfaces? The restaurant was half full and you couldn't hear people next to you. read more

Good food at reasonable prices - 4 stars. If this was place was in Hudson (and there IS a location there) or in the Twin Cities, I'd call them out as a 3 star experience. But within the context of this small community and the other restaurants in New Richmond, I consider them a 4. From what I can tell, Azul is a small local chain. They're definitely WAY better than some of the other local chains like El Azteca and Acapulco - yuck! But they aren't as great as Los Habaneros in Hudson. The food was pretty good (check out my photos). I tried an appetizer, a lunch special, a dessert, and a specialty drink. I thought the prices were pretty darn good considering how much food they give you. Overall, our service was very good too. I like the décor inside the restaurant. All I can say is, you need to give this place a try. I was very impressed with the flavors, portions, prices and service. It is much more authentic than some of the other local Mexican restaurants and there is actually tequila in their margaritas (not all ice and artificial flavoring like another place I won't name). I'm very happy with Azul Tequila. I've been getting takeout, because of COVID. I've tried several menu items and my go-to favorite is the vegetarian burrito with an order of guacamole. It's really more like two meals for me. The employees are polite and the food is ready in a timely manner. I like their chips because they're not overly salty. Give it a try! read more
