The salsa didn't have any flavor, pace tastes better. Shrimp fajitas consisted of shrimp, carrots, mushrooms and onions. I thought we were at a Mexican restaurant. Have gotten take out from here a few times and it has always been yummy and ready when promised. Their tortilla soup is delicious. As others have said, the chips are a bit bland, but I actually prefer that over something overly salty. I'm bugged, I stay at holiday inn and it was never suggested to come here. The food is amazing, the early shift service is perfect and the ambience is what anyone wants, to enjoy a good meal and watch any sport. Plenty of tv's available. Day shift is the best. After spending the past year eating at nearly every restaurant in Hudson (we only have 1 left), my friend and I are going back and re-visiting some of our favorites. Los Habaneros is definitely our favorite Mexican place in Hudson. And in my opinion, they're on the top 10 for Hudson eateries overall. This isn't a fancy place. They're located in a strip mall just off the Charmichael exit. And it's pretty small. But the food is excellent. No fake Americanized junk here - this is the real deal. Yes, you can order some boring items off the menu. But I challenge you to try something with some more vibrant flavors and - gasp - a little HEAT! The prices won't break the bank either. Mediocre at best. I had tried the steak as well at the carnitas both lacked seasoning and there was just a ton of cheese, which I'm actually a cheese lover but for my wife not so great. The salsa not the best I've had nor the worst. The margaritas were kind of on the sweet side and could have used another shot of tequila to mellow it out, we asked if they had Mezcal since they did have a full bar, but unfortunately they do not, that would have made their "perfect margarita" actually perfect. Waitress comes is water it for beverages.....hmmm No we ordered margaritas.....oh yeah thats right jumbos. Prices: I got Fajitas for $12.00 and my fiancé got chimichangas for $9.00. This is about 25% cheaper than comparable restaurants for both items. Quality: Fajitas and Chimichangas were prepared well and properly cooked. Flavor was just right for both items. There was fried cactus on top of the fajitas which was an interesting addition. It was a large and chunky piece so not suitable in fajitas unless they cut smaller. Service: Our server did a fine job and even offered a refill after the check was paid. That is great service! Food came quickly and we were in and out in a reasonable amount of time even with a full restaurant. What to work on: The fajita steak meat was of poor quality. It was full of tendons and grizzle. It took forever to chew and should no longer be used. The queso cheese we ordered was way too runny. For those of us with beards, this is no bueno. It had good flavor with a kick however. We really like Blue Moon because it goes well with Mexican food, but it was not on the beer menu :( read more

Pleasantly surprised after reading other reviews. I had shredded beef enchiladas. The beef was delicious. My friend's chicken in her burrito was great. Waitress was efficient and very pleasant. The margarita was pretty good--tasted a little watery but was deceptively strong. Will definitely go back--good, basic, tasty Mexican food with friendly service. I'd recommend giving them a chance. Have been back a couple more times. Have had chicken enchiladas, cheese enchiladas. Delicious. Went here the other night for a quick dinner. This was our first time and we would definitely come back. Loved the place, we ate outside on the spacious- but windy, patio. Great beer on tap or by the bottle, I had the carnitas enchiladas and my wife had the beef fajitas and we both thoroughly enjoyed the meal- forgot, they bring great chips and salsa when you sit down, chips are very nice and salsa is fair but decent. Decided to check this out because of the new owners. They have really done a great job. The food is much better. I took my daughter on a Saturday and on Sunday she insisted we go back with the entire family... it was that good. So now I've had a variety of items and no complaints. Terrible !!!!!!! Last night we went before a movie on the 22 of July. The server had to ask the kitchen and bar about 6 times about questions I had about the menu. As a former new restaurant opener, DONT OPEN YOUR DOORS UNLESS THE STAFF KNOWS THE MENU INSIDE OUT!!! The Michelada was flavorless I could whip one up at home that would blow that one away. The service sucked. The carne asada tacos has NO flavor in the steak. The seafood chimi was soggy and the tortilla wrap should be crunchy. I asked them to queso blanco white sauce on the chimi like most places do in which I specifically asked formore than once and got some strange sauce and no crispy fried shell. The beans where the best thing on the plate. I also had not had the server check back to ask how things tasted and had to flag her down for everything. I have been a server and bartender for 18 years and a service Trainer so I don't like to complain to tipped employees but this was THAT bad. Won't be returning and neither will my date and I'm a huge foodie. I'll stick to my other Mexican food places. waste of 56$. Should of hit up the new portillos in woodbury and had and enjoyable meal for a 3rd of the price, Being a Chicagoan!!! . On this fine evening we went to Los Habaneros because we had dined at the owners brothers' restaurant in Dresser Wi, which was exceptional sadly there is no relationship in this department, quickly seated, after placing our orders, as offered on the menu, over 25 minute wait for a four person party in a 3/4 empty restaurant, it was apparent most of the meal came out of cans,the lack of effort was astounding.. Taco bell makes more effort and would have been a better choice. This establishment should be avoided at all costs. read more

Well ''twas the night for Mexican dining. Well pretty close. I always enjoy Mexican restaurants but never had one really say "SOB that was tasty!!!" Los habaneros was, for me, no different and just an average Mexican Restuarant. I had a number 15. The steak was cooked nicely and the beans and rice were the same as any other Mexican restaurant. This order is labeled as a spicy dish and yes it was. The secret sauce definitely has a bit to much ground cayenne powder. When you taste grounded cayenne powder you have exceeded the limit of what's know as seasoning. Don't get me wrong it was still a fair meal just nothing to special. We went here for dinner last weekend, we've been wanting to check it out for awhile. We both ordered spicy meals, he got the habanero burrito, and I got the spicy beef and onions. Wow!! The burrito was absolutely fantastic, the cheese sauce they put on there is amazing! My spicy beef was wonderful, and super spicy, which I love. The rice and beans were great. Cut out the laughing coming from the kitchen and the inattentiveness of the wait staff and try focusing on some flavor and the folks in the dining room. I gave it a try and went there around 9:10 pm one night and the chicken was hard, maybe set under the heat lamp too long. So I decided to give it another try and drive up to drive thru, I ask for fresh chicken and the owner was very rude. If this is how they are going to run the place I'll never go back again. Our family of four has eaten here before and always liked it but tonight was truly exceptional. The food, service and drinks were absolutely wonderful. I could have sat there all night drinking my margarita and eating their delicious fresh homemade salsa (SO good) and chips but I'm glad I didn't because the fajita bowl was also delicious. My husband had a chimichanga and also commented it was better than a normal chimi...our boys each had a burger and fries and both spoke up about how good it was.
