I was referred this place by a friend for the 10 day mani, the manicure was okay but the woman who did my nails- Marianne was very rude she told me that my face was droopy and I needed to stop sleeping on my face. She told me that men based women on how pretty they were so I needed to keep myself up. She told me how I needed to do my eyebrows and that she should do them- mind you I just went to a brow waxing place a day before and they looked perfect. She also told me that I don't need to let water hit me in the face when I'm taking a shower because I had veins underneath my eyes- WTF seriously? I know that nail techs can be very blunt with what they say but this was ridiculous I will not be going back. Simply put, I love Marianne's!! I have already recommended it to several friends but felt it only right to post a proper review. I found Marianne's after an extensive search online for 'pedicure+wine+Greensboro'. I was coming in town for a large fashion show that I was modeling in at the Proximity. All of my appointments had already been taken care of. Hair, facials, etc. But it was the morning of the fashion show and my brows had become a forest and my feet...well let's just say they needed to be done. Lol. Anyone who travels and/or pampers themselves frequently, understands that you don't just let anyone touch your face. Especially before an important event. But I called and explained my situation and even over the phone, the staff was very accommodating. I also asked a few locals and other models about it. Most didn't know of the place. However, a couple did say that they had heard good things. I arrived at Marianne's hours before I had to be at the show. Stressed out and trying not to show it. Parking was somewhat difficult but not impossible and it was nice that though kinda tucked away, it is on a main road in the town. I walked into an incredibly sterile, well-designed, and welcoming upscale atmosphere. Lovely. I was very politely asked to take a seat. I think the only thing missing was a massive tropical fish tank. Lol As soon as I sat in the massage chair, an attendant asked what I would like to drink. The white wine was wonderful and calmed my nerves as she so gently and skillfully provided my pedicure. She massaged my lower legs and feet. And in the end, I felt like a spoiled baby. But now the true test came, my eyebrow's! Although this is part of the establishment's name, I was still skeptical. Not a second after the pedicure's completion, another attendant came to ask how I was enjoying the services so far. And then took me to a private room for waxing. She inquired of how I would like them and then laid me down so that she could work. She have me advice on sleeping for the betterment if my brows. And ensured that I was in love with the finished result before I left. Needless to say, this second to none experience got a nice tip! I can't wait until I'm in the area again! read more

The staff is very service oriented and professional. My manicures last a long time and the pedicures are lovely. I always have my brows done by Marianne when I do my other services. The location of this nail salon is definitely tucked away. Thanks to the other reviewers of this place, I decided to give it a try. My mom, my sister, and I wanted to get a basic manicure and the prices were perfect ($13 each). I called to make an appointment but communication was crossed so we weren't sure if it was at 3p or 330p. We showed up at 315p just to be safe. We walked in and I was very surprised by the vintage atmosphere. Amazing chandeliers, pinks and yellow, and neat textures. Alas, the smells of a nail salon hits you in the face. But once you get used to it, it was fine. We were offered 'something to drink' and opted for 3 mini-water bottles. Unfortunately due to the miscommunication, 2 of us had to wait (in massage chairs) but my mom went first. Marianne (the owner) took my mom over to one of the nail tech stations and talked to her the whole time. While talking, Marianne convinced my mom (and the rest of us) to get out brows waxed. She was amazing! I was nervous because I'd never had them done before but she did a great job. She even recommended how to style them and where to grow and where not to grow. She also trimmed my dad's brows too! She told us it was complimentary due to the confusion of appointment time. Nice! My sister and I got our turn at the nail tech stations after the waxing. They were very quick and the O.P.I color I picked out was great. We had a dinner reservation at 430p and they got us all out by 415p. Just in time. Overall, the staff is very friendly and they did a great job accommodating for us. Nails, honestly I've had better but for the price, no big deal. Word of advice though, make an appointment especially if you're going on a Saturday. This place can get/be very busy! read more

I have been to Marianne's twice now and have been more than satisfied. I was looking for a nail salon near my home that would give consistent excellent service and be a pleasure to visit. Not only have I gotten GREAT Pedi's here but also tried my brows for the first time today and was very pleased. Marianne clearly loves what she does and makes sure you are completely satisfied. My 'basic' pedicure today lasted almost an hour including a great 10 min massage (there was no one waiting so I think I got better-than-average service) but loved it. Great pedi/massage chairs. Today was my first time coming to this place. I arrive around 5:40pm. From my understanding they close at 7pm. I asked to get a mani and pedi with gel for both. As we know the process for Gel take off can take some time. There was a man who directed to pick my color and sit in the chair. As I was sitting in the chair I noticed how some of the girls didn't have customers that did the manicures. I didn't think nothing of it, but I started looking at the time and no one started on my nails. As it neared 7pm, I asked the girl who is suppose to do my nails because they're closing soon and I had somewhere to go. She then told me that she cannot understand me and to speak to the man. She didn't make any effort to grab the man for me to talk to him. It's now 7:05pm. I then speak to another woman about who was doing my nails and she tells me that I never asked to have 2 people. I explained to her that I figured they would have someone do my nails because I came in so late. The ONLY reason I walked in this nail salon was to get my actual nails (manicure). Had I known that they were going to do my nails one at a time I would've ONLY got a manicure. I definitely could've waited on the pedicure. So, now my nails are still not done. I'm so distraught by the service and the lack of communication. It's interesting how I observed how they treated their returning customers. They talked with them the whole time and for a first time customer they made me feel as though I was nothing but scum to them. Even when I was sitting getting my pedicure Marianne seemed very rude. This lady came in with her child. The lady was having hell polished removed, so while she was being foiled Marianne began the little girls nails. The mother pushed a chair and asked her daughter to sit in the chair. Marianne advised her "no, she can stand." This little girl stood the whole time while Marianne's lazy ass sat in the chair. If I was the mother I would've said something. When I finally paid and walked out the man FINALLY Asked me why we couldn't my nails? For you to be representing customer service you should've asked me that an hour ago. Only reason I give it 2 stars is because the lady that did my pedicure did do a great job and the massage was great. But my overall experience out weighs my pedicure. read more

Wow. I went here a few days ago with a friend. It was my first time and the experience was fantastic. I pick the place mostly because of the price and amazing reviews on yelp. All of the review match my expectations. And exceeded my expectations! The place is very small but designed very well and has a great feeling of comfort and luxury. I got my toes polished first and the lady that did my nails was super sweet and super nice. She kept a friendly conversation with me and made me feel very comfortable. Then I got acrylic French manicure, it was nice but it took a very long time. Many people came in during the time I was in to get their brows done. Marianne does brows herself and she does them in a room in the back. I really like that because a lot of times it's not comfortable to do your brows or any other type of waxing in front of entire store. I don't know that's just me, but I really love that aspect of her shop. In all, I was in the salon for about two hours which for just mani and a pedi polish is a long time. However the time that I spent in the salon was well worth it and I left feeling very beautiful and pampered. Overall I'm extremely satisfied with experience and I'm definitely going back. I had the pleasure of having my first mani/pedi here. They were great. It ran me $53 for the deluxe mani/pedi with gel nail polish. Sarah did my mani and she was really sweet and funny. She also did a great job of letting me know what she was doing with each step since it was my first. Ms. Kim did my pedi, she was silent but efficient (me and Sarah did enough talking for the entire shop). Massage chairs were aggressive but great and kim delivered a killer massage. Marianne's was packed and people were being told it was going to be a long wait but Marianne stopped what she was doing and fixed my toenail ASAP. Marianne is the best person in the Triad area for brows. She shapes your brows to best suit the shape of your face and eye placement. I now get compliments on my brows! Ok- I don't have much experience with nail salons or salons in general, but this place is the real deal. Marianne's is very clean, and the decor is so classy. I got a manicure and pedicure for a reasonable price, especially for the quality of service you get. My nails were done by Marianne, herself. She is the sweet, lovely owner who not only gave me a beautiful manicure, but also gave me a free brow consultation and some sound advice on grooming habits. My pedicure was done by Nina. She was very thorough and made sure I got my moneys worth. In fact, Nina stopped me as I was leaving to spray my toes with, I think, some kind of quick dry spray so I didnt mess up the polish. If you are torn between what kind of pedicure to get, just ask. I had the more espensive one with the wax dip stuff. I won't lie, it's hot, but my feet were unbelievably soft and I will suffer the slight burn to rid myself of alligator feet. After going to Marianne's, I went another salon with a slightly lower price, but was not impressed. It is worth paying a few dollars more to ensure a good experience. Marianne is still the best! I'm so sad I will have to move away in a few months. The shop has now moved to a new, smaller location in which Marianne and Suzanne work. I personally like the smaller location as they are able to give more attention to your nail and waxing needs. I would say the only change to moving is ensuring to make an appointment a few days before (for weekends) or at least the day before (during the week) to ensure availability compared to the walk-in style that was always available before due to it just being Suzanne and Marianne. She involved me every step of the way showing me what she was doing and why. She also coached me through reasoning as to why my hair may grows a certain way in certain areas. Horrible Customer Service! I visited the salon to receive a ten day manicure. Much to my disappointment the manicure only lasted a few days. In addition, my nails were not completely dry after getting the service so they were smudged when I left the salon after my service. When I brought it to the manager's attention she blamed me and rudely stated that I did not keep my nails under the nail dryer even though I had my nails under the nail dryer the entire time for longer than the recommended ten minutes. I informed her that the nail technician applied too much polish in error making it difficult for the nails to dry in the ten minute time period that she recommended. I further explained that it was an inconvenience for me to come back to the salon due to this error and the manager rudely stated that she was being nice for correcting this error. She never once apologized or took responsibility. I informed her that I was NEVER coming back to her salon due to the HORRIBLE customer service I experienced. read more

I went with my friend so we could get our nails done and my friend wanted to do her brows as well at around 5 in the afternoon.The pedicure was okay but after that it got worse. The lady that did my nails did an okay job. The lady that did my friend nails was terrible. The place was completely overbooked and the lady that did my friends nails kept leaving to go do things for other people. This resulted in her rushing through my friend's nails leaving a sloppy mess. She also forgot to put a top coat on her nails. Then while my friend was drying under the uv light a different lady comes over and puts two layers of top coat on her hands. My friend was angry that her hands were dirty from the polish so she asked them to be cleaned up only to have a different woman put for coats of nail polish on her nails and not clean up the polish that was covering her fingers. We were in that salon for almost three hours and the service was mediocre. my friend got her brows done but the work that was done could have easily been replicated at home with some hair wax. The nail techs weren't that friendly and the place is overpriced for the quality of work you get. Greensboro has much better nail places than this. read more

Nice job on my eyebrows, I will come back. The main concern I had is that I did not see her wash or gel her hands after finishing the customer before me. (Maybe I missed it??) And, after she was finished with me and I paid, she immediately sat down and started on another customer without washing her hands. I don't want to catch a cold from someone who touches peoples hands, feet, and faces all day long. I will go back but if I still don't see her at least using hand gel, I won't go back.
